I work at BPro in the fishing section... it’s amazing how many people come in and say, “I saw this guy on the internet... Richard Gene the Fishing Machine...and he was using...”, they’re always looking to get the things you fish with; lures, jigs, rods, reels, corks.

Some of the things of love about this guy besides he is pure genuine. He explains everything he is doing with great detail. Almost so any one could understand. I also like that he almost always goes in with light tackle so he is at the disadvantage. Watching him over the years I can say this guy is the real deal. I bet he could catch JAWS in a kayak with a Barbie pole. 😂

It's great to see video about going back to tried and true baits that have been, basically, forgotten by fishermen with all the baits on the market now. After a disaster of a last season, losing all confidence in myself, I decided that this entire fishing season, I was going to go back to the basics and the results have been great... first a 16.5" KY bass at my home lake, and then, this week i went to a local farm pond, and using nothing but a split shot and a live crawdad on 6lb test, I landed my new PB largemouth at 8.25 lb 23.75"!!! Keep it simple and you can catch monsters!

Beetle Spins, rooster tails, spooks (plugs in general), anything Arbogast, H&H Spinners, and live bait "Nobody uses those anymore" I'm right there with you. I'd hung fishing up for several years.. life got in the way, then some personal stuff.. but I've been going out some these last few months. Threw a bunch of tackle away. Back to stuff that "makes sense" to me. I've caught a lot more fish, and I've enjoyed the hell out of it.

I just started using trout magnets last year, and I'm hooked! On my first day, I caught 7 trout and a bass. I tried using the same set-up on bream, and caught 8 in about 30 minutes. It's a fantastic little lure.

I ordered this kit from Amazon after seeing this video. It came on a Friday and I fished it on a Saturday. Between me and my cousin we caught about 30 Bluegills, 6 Crappie, about 7 Largemouth, about 4 Rock Bass and 1 White Bass and a Freshwater Drum. Great day of fishing with the Trout Magnet. Never used them, but they might be the only panfish lure I use now. Haha...Thanks Richard Gene!!!

One of my favorite baits. With the crappie magnet..I've caught bass, gills,crappie,northern,bowfin...I think that's it but that was all from one little river run off pond. Fish love these. I also researched the company and they employ disabled folks and at least had, a facility in west Virginia where my dad's from. Still got family there and always love to visit. It's so beautiful. I've used Trout Magnet for quite a few years with much success. When the Gills sometimes become hard to catch, I bought some Mini Trout Magnets. But I also catch during those times with other small jig bodies. Catalpa Worms are excellent for catfish. I tell everybody I talk to when the conversation is about "Catching" to watch your videos. I am always looking forward to your videos. Most of the time, I get tickled when I watch your videos, but the knowledge you give has helped me tremendously. I was using this exact lure just this morning. Caught me a handful of little bluegill, which were traded in to the lake gods for a good sized channel cat and a drum. Good day at the lake, as is any day.

Thank you for your videos and the knowledge you share with us. I enjoy every one of them. I’ve used the trout magnet lures and they sure catch panfish. I am however disappointed in the plastic case they come in. The top distorts in the heat and becomes useless. Before you realize it most of the contents are scattered everywhere. A hot garage or even the back of the truck is not a good place to store these cases. Wish they reinforced their cases to prevent distortion. Great lures though.

I was catching some big gills today with a yellow popper. I have a clear float and about three feet below the popper. When I cast out I stop it before it hits water so popper stretches out below float. Leave it set till rings disappear and then twitch, you’ll see popper disappear set hook lightly and start reeling!!! ITS A BLAST

What an awesome day of bluegill fishing! So glad you did this episode on the Panfish Magnet kit. I bought a few of these last year when I first got back into fishing. They are incredible lures. Catch some many crappie on the Bulldog color and a ton of bluegill on the Mealworm color. Every color in the kit works so well, though.

I am a female who loves to fish. This was something my Daddy and I did a lot. However, we fished for Crappie with a Cain pole and minnows. Brim we fished with red worms and a Zebco 33. I am trying different poles, reels and bait. I have never heard of the pole you are using in this video, would you mind spelling that for me so I can look it up on Amazon? I generally fish in my nephews pond and have caught some of the biggest bluegills and shell crackers, I’ve ever seen. I wish I could share some pics…. Thanks for doing what you do, I’m learning…….
