Hey @smeefu I play a lot of pocket and one thing I don't see anyone talking is how you can instantly finish reloading with pockets' 3. To test, you need to have started the reload and see the bar, then hit 3. You will instantly finish the reload if you exit the case early with primary fire
Another mechanic I don't see people talking about is that you can cancel spirit barrage early and still get full value. The fourth spirit comes out around 4/5th of the cast bar which at that point you can just cancel it for even faster combos. You can also get two melees during spirit barrage if you queue up the second melee at the tail end of the first one.
Just found another mechanic - If you hold melee while inside your satchel, when you come out you'll do a heavy melee attack but the heavy melee audio won't play and the yellow glow on your hand won't show either. Don't think anyone can react to a heavy melee with no audio or visual cue.
I went from literally being scared to pick pocket because I could never keep relevant in the game to loading into a match after watching this video and going 9/0/10... yeah that's an instant subscribe
Your infernus guide brought me from a bottom feeder (never played any MOBAs) to dominateing 4 matches in a row (my 3, 4 ,5 and 6th match). Great job brother.
My mouth is watering waiting for the pocket build. Your infernus build is insane and very satisfying to play, great fun. Bro you are extremely underrated
Been using your infernus build for a couple days now and wow is it incredible! Allowed me to start understanding how to chain abilities, watching this pocket seems right up my lane! can't wait to try it out.
Awesome vid, been looking forward to it since you mentioned you also mained Pocket and your style of guide is very much up my alley. Looking forward to the in game guide, been rocking the Infernus one to great success :) Keep up the good work man
These have been great guides. Best I've seen on YT so far. +1 on the request for Warden next, been maining him and there's so many weird builds out there for him, would love to learn from you
Really Loved the infernus build and guide and im excited to try this one as well, i like playing wraith but i havent had a build that i particularly liked if you ever plan on doing a video on her.
Please make a guide covering the mini map and how to use it effectively. For someone who's never played a moba, I'm sure I'm not getting all I can from the mini map
Would be helpful if u showed the abilities during the introduction in the testing area like you did while showing the combos. Great guide apart from that!
the only pocket guide i'll need? GEE THANKS, usually when I look up guides I like to open about 10-15 to have a complete look on the character, but luckily enough this video is the only one I'll need.
Really cool vids man! Can you breakdown best item builds for Kelvin? I've been playing him really hard lately, obviusly he's no longer OP since Arctim Beam got nerved but still think he's strong hero, althouh I struggle to impact matches in late games more so I couldnot figure out what best items to buy...
you didnt mention one pocket tech. if you start a reload before entering satchel then you will finish reload when you exit satchel, no matter how fast you exit it. you should ALWAYS start a reload before satchel to get free full mag
you can actually hold melee until first ball comes out with barrage and it will only do light attack and not cancel momentum. i dont know any situation where you wouldn't do it, but the timing is a bit tricky
For the upgrade path priority, would it be worth it to put one level into each ability after putting 2 levels barrage for the reduced cooldown? Especially their ultimate, as that’s 30 whole seconds for only a single ability point, it feels extremely worth to delay a small damage spike in favor of faster rotations on a character who is fairly reliant on those. I guess it must be subjective too, since I’ve seen other guides say to max spirit barrage first, then max out the other abilities one at a time starting with cloak and ending with satchel. Oh and also another small thing for canceling pocket’s satchel, you can also just press spacebar. Idk if that’s useful or not but yknow. In case you don’t wanna fire a bullet for whatever reason
there’s no way you ever wanna max barrage before getting the damage boosts on cloak and satchel if you’re playing a spirit build, but yah sure you can get the early point in ult if you want
as a pocket main with over 100 games on him, i like building cold front on him early game. it fits his skillset really well and adds to his burst damage. I also like to build weapon dmg items (crippling headshot) on him late game as his maxed 2nd skill gives a huge weapon dmg buff, it lets me carry games since spirit damage builds loses power as the game goes on. So basically early-mid game play spirit build and then late game build crippling headshot and phantom strike. Crippling headshot reduces both weapon and spirit resist so pocket who deals both weapon and spirit dmg benefits greatly from it.
@@smeefu very good guide! i've got 50 hours and I didn't even know this hero starts with -15% resist or you could punch with barrage, but one other trick I don't think you mentioned is if you reload then quickly cast briefcase you get a free "quicksilver reload". which is handy if you shoot half your ammo then use briefcase you can finish people off with the extra ammo
have you got any tips for dealing with lash in the lane? I feel like this is one of the hardest match ups for pocket because of lashes spirit nukes which he can also heal off of and he even starts out with +15% spirit resist. i wonder if rushing spirit barrier items is a good counter to him like spirit strike or enchanter's barrier because barriers are not affected by damage resistance
you really have to save your suitcase and use it on reaction when he tries to ground slam you, not the greatest lane ever but if you get good at it then its slightly in pockets favour
Really struggling not losing lane with Pocket and Shivs shotguns. Feels like it's impossible to keep the lane equilibrium under the bridge where you can use more cover and the enemy either shoves me under tower or I shove them under tower, where the shotgun range fall off makes it hard to trade with them, secure CS, reload. Abrams I have no problem with (the reloading single shells makes it a lot easier to reload as orbs about to fly up etc.), but I really can't get a handle on using the briefcase gun skill other than jumping up above + dashing and firing down on them. Do you have any tips for how to come out on top?
dont take trades unless they are close, and get better at playing cover, its impssible for a full auto hero to take trades against you if you are on a right hand peek. headshot booster is great too for poking at range. just try to play cover more and when your wave is shoved only peek over the stairs when they are close enough for your weapon to do damage, other than that just focus on going for denies as shotguns are super op for it
what's your opinion on gun pocket? one of my friends had been using the pocket build by eidorian (who's another great pocket player) and wasn't doing very well. he recently switched to a gun focused pocket build and has been performing much better.
Interesting, it may be because gun pocket is easier to play for my friend who comes from a mainly shooter background, though he is quite good at league as well. Also, I've been using your infernus build recently and it is absolutely insane, but I think mystic slow could be bought a bit earlier in some games as it heavily counters comps with multiple high fire rate heros (eg haze, wraith etc) and the slow is really nice, plus it procs for such a long time due to his DOT.
Recently decided to give both shiv and pocket a try since their two of the four shotgun Heroes and I already love Abraham I want to see if a different character with a different playstyle something I could also get behind especially since I need multiple picks to que and i was just curious about what you think about my pocket build rn. It starst with for my weapon items, soul shredder bullets, head hunter, hunters aura, and toxic bullets and than my vitality items are spirit healing rite (only upped to rescue beam if i have the econ) healing nova, spirit lifesteal, healing booster with than for spirit items we have mystic burst (always upped to improved burst for lethal percentage damage), mystic vulnerability, suppressor (always upped to mystic slow), and infuser with ladtly my flex spots are always enduring spirit (later traded for leech as soon as i have the econ lane sustian for it) soul rebirth, magic carpet, and crippling headshot.
generally you dont ever wanna be buying enduring spirit in a flex slot, its too late of a buy to make a difference, and buying this item much earlier will have a way bigger impact. dont think that pocket needs health nova at all, just go lifesteal and use your abilities to heal. definitely doesnt need healing beam upgrade ever, thats such a waste of money on this hero in my opinion because he is never gonna be in the back his gameplan is to be IN the fight so the chances you are gonna be able to use this to save a teammate from a bad position are very slim. too much gun investment for me, but i know people do like the gun route, i urge you to give the build and playstyle a try,, it really uses his kit efficiently!
@@smeefu I've taken your input into consideration can I have tuned my build a little bit to be a bit more focused and after just trying rescue being one time cuz I only made this bill during the off time for testing so I actually didn't get it tested in a real game I can agree that healing right is just a really good one to grab and I see why people like it so much with health Nova is something I actually like to grab partially because I'm a bit too prone to jumping in but also partially because it's nice in my opinion to have a really good team heal which is also why I like healing rite too as especially like you showed later game, you don't necessarily need as much self-healing abilities which means you can actually be more effective in a team fight by being able to jump in and out and around your teammates making sure they stay in the fight while you also can do constant percentage. Damage to your enemies which is also why I love toxic bullets especially since they do Spirit damage to my understanding and that's actually also served to further yourself healing
@@R_o_o_k_i_n_g_t_o_n i like your ideas, but on a hero like pocket you are stunting your own damage growth by buying something like health nova. it’s a great item, but it isn’t pockets job at the end of the day, a support hero on the team should be buying that item and not pocket
@@smeefu I would agree there somewhat but i will also say i use health nova in the same way you use ethereal shift most of the time as its a few seconds of crazy healing and while I agree ethereal shift is nice, it feels like a lot of cost for mot as much utility as health nova also doesn't lock you down. Btw what's your take outta curiosity on magic carpet?
@@R_o_o_k_i_n_g_t_o_n i don’t mean to sound like a dick but you are completely missing the value of ethereal shift. ethereal shift is 100000x more survivability boost than healing booster will ever be, it literally makes you invincible for 3 seconds. this gives teammates chance to get to you, gives you time for lifesteal to heal you BUT most importantly you can use the ability to completely counter ults like wraith ult, lash ult, abrams ult, etc etc. magic carpet is by far the worst item in terms of value in the game
@@DevBird nah not really needed, green slots are too competitive and won’t be meleeing too often, spirit strike barrage punch is just too op not to take
weapon damage doesnt matter on pocket? as a game enjoyer that has been top 1% in pretty much any game, i hate learning new games. this guy is teaching us silver elo lol
im top 0.01% of elo according to deadlocktracker, but i never said weapon damage doesnt matter you just misunderstood. i said it doesnt matter anywhere near as much as spirit :)
@@smeefu genuinely wondering what your highest damage is on pocket, i have around 10 or so games and i have hit 115k player damage. (i have screenshot). you can almost 4 shot people with pockets amp + shotgun.
