This game though. You deserve a change to Indycar Series on the PS2. That's still got the best Indy 500 experience on console, ever.

Dear lord that was tense to watch every time you got near the AI cars!!😮

this game looks genuinly torturous, only suggestion would maybe be to run high lines so when the car predictablly breaks away it'll smash into the wall quicker and you wont be sliding forever, you'll get that weird bounce that sorts the car out like a reset. Think I probably would've just turned the ps1 off in a sign of protest if I played this game.

I'm not watching your back catalog fast enough to catch up, so from now on I'm gonna watch all the new videos and comment because you deserve engagement at the very least. So that's 5 G+T's is it? About knitting - have you seen the knitting scene in the original version of George A Romero's The Crazies (1973)? Might want to think twice! In comparison maybe play one of the cricket games that were out on the Playstation?

the weird "Japlish" reminds you of Burning Road (the PS1 Daytona USA killer with the wobbly wheels - but still more fun than Indy 500) I still have my original Indy 500 that I got from EB. for anyone that's not played Indy 500 it one of the most stressful, uncomfortable racing games ever..like cupping petrol in your hands while someone flicks lighted matches at your face. the EA Indy game on PS2 is just as bad though..that one seems like they took that years F1 game & increased the speed to insanity+ make the slightest error and the entire field of cars sweeps past you in a tsunami (if you happen to get clipped as they zoom by I've had my car flicked out of bounds. maybe EA will bring that feature back for F1/24😭

Indy 500 ... it's been a wghile since I've seen this one, binged the series a long time ago so I don't remember it well. Is it as bad as Ash pointed it ou- Yes it was ... no, it was worse. I might be wrong, my brain has seen too much F1 and not enough IndyCars, but I think when you want more stability you'd increase the rear wing and when you want more rotation you increase the front wing. Maybe the MURICANs do things differently, but ... I think the spins came from the extra front wing. I'd try an extra click of rear and see if the car still decides to do the big dorifto. EDIT goes here: Also ... a game that encourages Crash-Gate ... if we look through the credits will we see a F.Briatore in them, won't we? Also, Flavio sneaking into this series now! The AI, the collision boxes, the grass being modelled as thick gravel ... this game is great, don't @ me. This was like the Alex Wurz rant, only over 30 minutes long. Hopefully more success on the next one, so good luck to 2025 Ash. Speaking of, poor 2024 Ash is demoralized and F1 98 still looms large.

I hate games like this. The kind that makes you feel like there's nothing you can do but suffer and hope to get lucky. So forgive me for trying to help. I really want you to succeed against this "game" clearly infused with an Evil Spirit captured from Japan and imprisoned within. I think the spins are a result of you Accelerating while turning. My guess is there is an unseen bar that's filling towards a threshold. And every time you accelerate and turn, the bar is being filled. And while not accelerating or turning, the bar drops. The combination of excessive acceleration dab and turning dabbing is filling it faster. And when your tires are more worn, that threshold is lower. That's my best guess to the reason why it feels like the same input sometimes bites and sometimes doesn't. So either accelerate less around the main portion of the turn, or just be hyper aware of this evil spirit gaining power every time you accelerate. To the above point. Its an arcade game. So please drive SLOWER! When you reached the leader, he matched your pace. He drove faster when you were in second. I think this is because the game is rubber banding. The closer you are, the faster he goes. This means you do not need to drive as fast as you think you do. He will drive slower when you are in the pack. The moment you fell from second to fifth suddenly the gap went down. Which would help a lot when making turns because you can coast more. Which means you can react to AI more. It means you can drive more at their speed than your speed when taking corners. Which is to say, take corners slower because I think the leader won't run away until you are close to him. Which should also reduce the stress when you crash. When you crash, the game essentially restarts, only now you have a lower grid position. Also when you're angry... A lot of players get into this mindset where they think the game should move over and let them by. Just because you're the player and they are the AI doesn't mean you are owed the right to get passed no issue. You still have to overtake them. You're not owed the right to. You and a lot of gamers do that when things go wrong. Which only makes more crashes. I gotta get back to where I was, get the fuck out of my way I'm faster than you. Lol. Again with this game in particular, if you crash, the leader slows down. You can catch him within 2-5 laps. So don't rush. Play within yourself. And eventually you'll get lucky? There really are a lot of AI crashes you can't do anything about. But maybe the above can limit them more? Sorry, I hope all of that didn't come off as condescending. I just really wanted to help somehow...
