their used to be a pub across the road called the Anchor ,majority of the pubs have gone in Dewsbury

@@DodgersTrips no i would say about 15 years ago , that area of dewsbury used to have a lot of catholic irish and i thought that could have been a reason why it was called the JF

Used to drink there all the time; my favourite place. Used to be heaving in the 90’s and it still did have the best jukebox. Never knew how it came to be called the John F. Heard the rumours about the club in the basement but think that was 70’s-80’s, before my time. Ted and Sue were lovely people, it was a friendly place and a good rock community.
