The ONLY Sith More Powerful Than Sidious - Valkorion [The Immortal Emperor] 

If Vitiate had come back to life at the very height of Palpatine's empire, just by himself, he would have ruled the entire thing in a day, Sidious would have submitted or been absolutely blasted out of existence. No other Sith could claim supremacy while Vitiate lived, not in any era.

Think about this: It took them killing Vitiate Three separate times. Once Physically, Second Mentally, and Third Spiritually.

I always had a lil headcanon since encountering Valkorion/Vitiate: that he never died, no matter what the Alliance Commander and friends did; and that Sidious is just Vitiate's latest form (and that by the time of the GCW, he was trying on different 'outfits' in Maul, the Skywalkers, and so on).

I'm sad to say I never got to fight him in the old Republic as a Jedi Knight or otherwise since I stopped playing that game in 2015. But I have to say I think he is definitely the most powerful Sith Lord the galaxy has ever known.

I love the old republic so much more then clone war era it's full of potential for live action and animation tv, it baffles me why they never go towards that side, it's all there and it's awesome there is no way you can screw the old republic era if you just follow what's already there. Palpatine may have been the Dark Side incarnate, as some say, but Valkorion, he was so powerful, even the force itself worked against him. If that doesn't say how dangerous and powerful Valkorion is, compared to Palpatine that was allowed by the force to live, without it actively trying to stop him

Vitiate never had the Darth title, he predated it, same reason Marka Ragnos didn't go by Darth. And by the time he fully embraced being Valkorian he no longer saw himself as Sith, instead above both the Sith and Jedi

Remember that Vitiate consumed the whole planet of Ziost, the former dark side capital of the Sith Empire, in seconds, without a ritual and without a corporeal form. Prior to this he mind controlled its entire population using them as puppets and using their deaths to fuel his power. He consumed two planets whereas Nihilus consumed one. Unlike Nihilus, who was a slave to his power, Vitiate was master of it. He could give his servants immortality as a gift. He ruled two galactic empires through two hosts at the same time for 300 years. He ruled unchallenged as Emperor of the Sith for 1300 years. He dominated the minds of 8000 ancient sith at once during a time when the Sith were at their most powerful. Even Revan using both the light and dark side in tandem was no match. He would have consumed the entire galaxy if the Republic and Empire, Jedi and Sith did not unite to defeat him. He has no equal and none are his match.

Vitiate also destroyed all life on Ziost using the same ritual that he used on nathema but this time all by himself while also possessing multiple bodies simultaneously on Ziost. This also happened while his spirit was still split between Valkorian and his Vitiate form and his spirit in Vitiate had been weakend before and had just returned to the known galaxy. Meaning he wasn't even near his full power yet still destroyed all life on the planet.

Imagine if they made it so Valkorion was the one behind Snoke and not Palpatine. They could have used the time spent on the casinos and space horses to instead have Luke explore a Sith tomb or something (encountering traps, illusions, and dark side spirits) where he gradually uncovers secrets about the ancient Sith. Concurrently, Kylo still kills Snoke, but the victory is soon made hollow because meanwhile Luke makes it to the end of the tomb and finds Valkorion buried there with a Sith holocron that reveals his plan about preserving his spirit in different vessels as his empire rebuilds in the unknown regions. The last episode could then have Kylo as the head of the First Order, Luke and Rey and other company as the focus of the New Republic, and Valkorion as a Sauron type figure that they have to work together to stop once Kylo realizes Valkorion does not intend to let Kylo stay as leader of his forces. The end could be a 3v1 battle of Luke, Rey, and Kylo vs Valkorion to show how truly powerful he is, with the trio prevailing through their different force abilities. But nah, we good with "Somehow, Palpatine returned". Let the fever dream continue.

Everything you attribute to the Eternal Empire between 5:20 and 7:06 except for the Zakuul and Eternal fleet stuff was actually done by him thru the Sith Empire, which itself remained hidden until around 300 years after the mandalorian wars. It was the Sith Empire that invaded the Republic, driving them back for almost 30 years until they sacked Couruscant, forced an unfair peace treaty on the Republic and fought the Cold War against the Republic until breaking the Treaty of Coruscant 12 years later and fighting the Republic in open galactic warfare once again for another 4 years before Valkorian decided to bring the Eternal Emprie out of wild space and join the fray. Because this man built not ONE, but TWO galactic superpowers AT THE SAME TIME, one of which was powerful enough to steamroll both other established galactic superpowers in only 5 years. The Eternal Empire was actually built by him from the ground up with the exception of the Eternal Fleet that he found on Iokath, from a single planet full of superstitious nomadic tribal humans, one of whom he possessed as Valkorian, to a galactic superpower in only 300 years contained entirely in wild space without any contact with the Sith Empire he was rebuilding in the unknown regions. Complete with its own unique lightsaber wielding force users, in case you thought it was missing something. It seemed mostly like a slip of the tongue, but it could be really confusing for anyone who doesn’t know anything about the Old Republic era, so I thought I’d point it out.

I hope they eventually make a movie or show about Darth Vitiate, as well as Revan. Both characters could make great main characters in a show or movie. I love them both.

IIRC Valkorion implies strongly in some dialogue with the Outlander that Vitiate and Valkorion were not the only forms he had taken. At the time, I took this to mean there could be a sort of "horcrux hunt" in future gameplay, or at the very least an opening for a possible reappearance at some point down the road. In my head I even figured that the Nathema ritual split his essence into Valkorion, so the Ziost ritual possibly accomplished something similar. And there's no telling if the Valkorion identity also managed to do anything similar during all his time on the throne... Although, what if the Death Star laser used kyber crystals as a sort of technological shortcut to achieving the same ritual effect? Then possibly Sidious was attempting to accomplish the same essence transfer by killing whole planets, and maybe explains why the throne room on the Death Star is at the top of that ridiculous spire with a shaft running down into the core🤔

Vitiate would've stomped Sidious. Even the 501st wouldn't have stood a chance against the soldiers of the Eternal Empire. Yeah Palps took down the Jedi order, but Vitiate took out arguably the most powerful Jedi order of all time AND the Sith Empire, at the same time

To compare any Star Wars Games with Star Wars in TV is outright hilarious. Both are aiming for completely different styles of storytelling. Neither the Sith nor the Jedi were stronger back then, if anything they where weaker, but more focused on direct confrontation. Abilities in games are flashy, diverse and meant to be enjoyed while playing them. The top level force users of the Movie era would crush most of the old Sith and Jedi. Name a Jedi that stands a chance against Anakin, Kit Fisto, Leia, Luke, Obi-Wan, Plo Kon, Windu or Yoda, please The same is true for the Sith, Palpatin was able to destroy whole fleets (yeah and people say Starkiller is OP for pulling down a meagre ISD and therefore just a "Powerfantasy") by himself and travel can through Spacetime. The only ability Vitiate shares with Palpatin is to transfer his Soul. Yeah, Vitiate lasted longer, but just because Palpatine literally had to deal with the Force itself incarnated "the chosen one" (Anakin), corrupted him, defeated the next "chosen one" (Luke), corrupted this next "chosen one" (Luke) and defeated the second "chosen one" again and the third "chosen one" (Leia, the only one who squares equal with Luke) XD Edit: Yes Palpatine lost in the end, but it literally needed all Jedi who ever lived to keep him from just defeating death itself. EU Palpatine is not just defeating Vitiate 100%, he isn't even comparable to him. It's like comparing Rome to the British Empire Guess who lasted longer and who was stronger

I say Viciate was stronger than Palpatine, as even Palpi admitted that the growth in Sith knowledge was stunted with the loss of many ancient Dark Side abilities and rituals. Plus Viciate could do many thing Palpi struggled with easily and many thing he couldn't do at all.

Valkorion, Lord Vitiate, is a god. In my mind he is the greatest Sith Lord to ever exist.

Viciate was a Palpy but before Palpy. Both had grand plans to become unstoppable. And both of them were extremely close to achieving their goals.

This is more like what I would do. I would study everything from both the Jedi and sith, along with more Ancient ideas about the force. I wouldn’t go out trying to conquer the galaxy constantly. I wouldn’t go out testing my abilities against other sith. Sure maybe I’d help out taking down enemies others weren’t capable of, but I’d seriously just want to live for thousands of years and gain more knowledge and power. Till the point that even the father, son, and daughter would be afraid of me and want me to just agree to finally pass on.

Many might have claimed the title of "Dark Lord of the Sith", but Valkorian was THE Dark Lord, period. He's probably the SW universe's version of Sauron

Bringing back someone like Vatiate to re-introduce the Sith to the sequal era of Star Wars would make complete sense, probably even the most sense.

I have a theory, that Nihilus abilities to consume the Force were to enable him to "eat" Valkorian specifically, Malachor was a beacon to lure him there. The ancient Sith hated Valkorian. Having consumed the Sith Emperor and all his acolytes, Nihilus would travel to Korriban and start a ritual to resurrect....Marka Ragnos. Seeing the Jedi almost completely wiped out troubled Ragnos and he journeyed to find the Jedi Exile, imploring Surik that the Emperor was still out there and a threat to all life in the galaxy. Although not trusting Ragnos, or Kreia, the Exile has no choice but to journey to the unknown regions, to find Revan and end the Sith Emperor.

Vitiate is the ultimate Sith before Palpatine, no doubt about it. That's why he is no. 1 on my list of favorite Sith Lords. 👍

For those of you using George Lucas' own words plus the fact I heard he isn't a fan of extended universe stuff, we all have to keep in mind that George might've claimed Sidious as the most powerful without taking the extended universe entities into consideration. That sort of nullifies what he said in a way. Tenebrae/Valkorion/Vitiate has performed feats that outclass except for perhaps Sidious creating force storms. But considering things like what Valkorion did on Ziost and being a force ghost while also being cunning enough to create two empires, one of which no one knew about for many many years, I don't think Sidious will stomp Valkorion as easily as some people seem to think because while Sidious might surpass Valkorion in lightsaber combat and sheer firepower, Valkorion possesses abilities and cunning that would make it very difficult for Sidious to actually kill him.

This guy is no doubt the most powerful sith of all time as he literally nearly achieved immortality also he managed to live for thousands of years but I think the Old Republic era is really interesting and be’d interested to see if any Star Wars media is made for it!

Vitiate being more powerful in feats and achievement of tenure as a darklord is more powerful than Sidious. Essence transfer was the one ability Sidious wanted to master more than anything, yet he couldnt, Vitiate on the other hand obviously did to great affect, and held a greater cadence of rule of the empire than Sidious ever could, thats saying quite alot.

In The Rise Of Skywalker sidious says all the sith in him so vitiate would also live in him so wouldn’t palpatine be stronger then him

The story of Vitiate and what happens to Revan is probably the best story arc to come from The Old Republic MMO. I only hope we get another game like that someday, as TOR is basically finished as we know it

Valkorion was no Sith. He transcended beyond Vitiate, beyond Light and Dark. Also multiple Sith were more powerful than Sidious. It is by definition impossible to defeat Nihilus unless you are Meetra Surik, for example. Marka Ragnos could have easily dominated Palpatine. Vader was always beyond his master and chose not to kill him until the moment came when he did.

I would argue that in Legends (which is the only place Vitiate exists, and therefore the only fair comparison) it's VERY open to debate which one of Vitiate or Sidious was stronger, since in Dark Empire Palpatine also does some crazy OP stuff. I think there are a couple sith stronger than sidious, definitely valkorion. Sidious is super strong but I think he is overrated compared to some of the ancient sith.

In my list, the only few sith more powerful than Sidious is Valkorion, Marko Ragnos, and Exar Kun. In the Canon, I'd say Darth Vader could do so as well.

I remember seeing a RU-vid poll where 70% of people who voted thought palpatine was stronger than vitiate. In my head I was thinking “tf y’all smoking?”

I am most curious about 1 thing. While Zakuul was an planet in perfect balance with the force, Valkorion didn't do anything to disrupt that balance. Even though he's evil, I think he still was a being with both Jedi and Sith abilities, and I think that is what made him so insanely powerful.

Well before the old Canon was messed up..it was established that Caedus was more powerful than Sidious

Vitiate became paraoid with death after Marka Ragnos's death, so he not only performed that ritual on Nathema, but also performed another ritual in his own original body, like a fail safe in case everything goes wrong. That's why his Pure Blood Sith body is covered in tatoos. He then split his spirit in two, one found a great champion on Zakuul and took over his body, becoming Valkorion, and the other part kept ruling the sith empire using vessels known as "Voice of the Emperor". When a Voice is killed Vitiate does not die, but his spirit really gets weaker and that's why he hid on Yavin 4 and fed off the deaths that Revan created, and later even consumed Ziost, like he did on Nathema, but this time there was no need for a ritual, as he was a much more powerful sith than he was hundreds of years ago. After that he reunited with his other part, in Valkorion. The only way to truly kill him was to destroy his original sith body at the same time as his spirit was getting hit by the outlander and Valkorion's family, as this way there was nowhere else for him to run and he is now gone for good.

In Revan and Malak’s defense (?). They were already Dark Jedi when they went in search of what or whoever was ultimately responsible for the Mandalorian crusade. And they had barely made it to the Emperor’s throne room before they were swarmed with guards and captured. While Revan and Malak returned to Republic space as Sith under orders from the Emperor, they had their own agenda. When Revan returned to Dromund Kaas to once again face the Emperor, he had just been released from 3 years of captivity. During his entrance to the throne room, he had been spotted by one of same guards that he and Malak encounter years before. While in the middle of their fight with the Emperor, Revan had held his against his Force lightning until he was distracted by one of his allies murder at the hands of his other ally that had came to challenge the Emperor with him. And that’s when the Emperor overpowered Revan. Revan spent the next 300 years in captivity, slowly being drained by the Emperor, and still manage to stall the Emperor’s planned invasion. Sowing the seeds of doubt. Though this eventual drove Revan half-mad. ---- Against Revan? He should have been more careful with getting through security before trying to access the throne room the second time around. Two, he should’ve never had trusted his Sith “ally”. Particularly since he had been one of captors. Three, I know he was half mad, by I still don’t believe that trying to bring back the Emperor was a good idea.

I don’t think it’s necessary for Sidious to be the most powerful Sith that’s ever lived. It doesn’t take away from how impressive he is and it’s been so long since anyone could be considered his equal since Vitiate. Some of the Sith secrets were lost to history.

Depends on version of Papls. If its Dark empire version,than it would be tought to determine the who stronger. Sidious is a much better duelist, however as Vitiate repeled sabers with his hands i am not positive that it matters. Force ability wise - it is a really difficult and long question. Furthermore, i think Reborn Darth Krayt is another contender for the title of the strongest sith. He is superior to Palps as a duelist and is on the similar level force wise considering his experience and hax.

The entire live action star wars could not even hope to scratch the non-canon beings like Valkorion

One reason why valkorion was more evil was the fact that he intentionally liked his parents whereas sidious was coerced or more rather, forced, into doing that.

I’m always amazed that Vitiate was able to achieve such power in his unnaturally long life, not to mention his act of devouring all life on Nathema.
