ERRATUM : 1/ The links are folded metal, not solid. It doesn't show at first sight because the way they are made but you can see it in between links. 2. Actually, this is a unisex watch. Some websites list it as a watch for women, others for men. None of this changes my opinion of this watch ;)
Have a look at the Casio Lineage LCW-M100TSE-1AER. It's a bit more expensive at around £230 UK pounds, but is made of 100% titanium, has a sapphire crystal, is solar powered and radio reception gives 100% accuracy, has a small LCD which gives weekday and date, has stopwatch, timer, world time, alarms, a dial light for night-time viewing, very good lume, and best of all, on a black rubber strap it looks amazing and it weighs just 46g, making it just about the most comfortable watch I have ever worn. Oh and perpetual calendar. Size-wise it's just 40mm but wears a lot smaller, partly due to it being just 9.6mm thick. Lug-to-lug is a tiny 43mm. It has 50m water resistance which according to Casio's website at www.casio-intl.com/asia/en/wat/water_resistance/ makes it fine for swimming. I have had a 30 minute swim an a pool with it and it was just fine. www.reddit.com/r/Watches/comments/ddkml2/casio_the_perfect_watch_in_my_opinion/
I've been looking forever for a watch with SD Crown at this size Do you know of any other watches about this size with screw down crown? Solar would be nice too. Thanks for the video!
I've had this watch for some time now and I wear it almost everyday at work, never had the slightest problem with it, it looks pretty and professional without being expensive and tacky. Best buy.
Same. 100M, screwdown crown, larger lume than most Seiko 5 that have small lume dots. The white dial is killer, probably looks good in bracelet, leather, or sailcloth. But Seiko 5 is automatic. Bit of a weigh-in at this pricepoint
It’s also amazing how you can be so happy with something at a cheap price ,, goes to show you don’t have to spend hundreds or thousands cheers shane uk 🇬🇧
Today I got mine - just to see what you grade 10 out of 10 - I was really skeptical 🤨 - the only I can say (considering I paid under only € 70 included shipping from an AD) it’s really awesome - screw down crown, screwed case back, applied marker, the second hand hits perfectly the markers ,... - yes it’s a 10 out of 10!! Great 👍 job Alessandro
I've now had a couple of weeks with mine now and yes this punches wayyyyy above its weight. sooo many small details on the dial for an affordable watch. thanks for brining this one to my attention!
Never pulled a trigger so fast that I’ve done buying the watch even before the video ends! Great recommendation ! Looking forward to more content of yours !
That’s a great find! I’ve found myself appreciating the simple reliability of quartz lately. (Been getting a lot of wrist time on the G-Shock you gave me and use it to set my automatics). It’s clearly evident how excited you are with this find and I’m very tempted to order one too. I see a hint of Omega Seamaster there.
Thank you for this review. I was looking for an everyday blue watch and this review sealed the deal. I chose the larger model and used your link to say 'thanks.' I'm grateful for the reviews of classically proportioned time pieces. Keep up the good work.
Edifice watches are a charm to use, and they're pretty darn tough for everyday use! I have a hunky EF539D and it's almost as accurate as a quartz watch can be at any price point! Edifice provides excellent value for money!
A very well designed watch for sure! Great for someone on a budget who just wants a nice looking watch to wear everyday. I have tried it and the bracelet feels really cheap (not sure how you can say the links are solid, you can also see in the picture that they are sheet metal) but the case is nice. I have a discontinued Casio Edifice EF-503D-7A, got it for 80€ and I LOVE it! Solid end links, solid links, gorgeous sunburst white dial and blue hands.
Ouroboros I had the same Edifice, beautiful blue sunburst dial, love the design of the dial with chronograph function, love the solid stainless steel bracelet and end link. I’ve tried some of the new edifice, and I gotta agree that the bracelet do feels cheaper though
Speaking about quartz watch... I recently got Rotary GS05092-05 for 70$ brand new. The watch looks awesome! Especially for the price I've paid! 40.5mm case diameter is a sweet spot for my 7 1/4 inch! The dial is rather black than even dark blue! I do love all the details on dial and hands shape too. Love the case shape, sapphire crystal... flat, domed with AR would make this watch above perfect) The watch could be easily turned to a dress watch with a different strap attached! The stock strap is pretty stiff. If only it could be automatic mechanical) At the same time of this purchase I have upgraded a 7S36 movement on my Seiko 5 SNZG15 to NH36... hand winding, hacking, 45 hours power reserve! A local watchmaker has regulated it to +2-3 seconds a day... after all, it gets way more wrist time nowadays)
I buy this watch several days ago, after watch your video and I can't be more happy with this watch. Soon has became probably my favourite watch for everyday use. Thank you very much for this video.
Thanks for this great review. I purchased this watch and I have to say that everything you say I can confirm: It seems the perfect 'budget' watch that looks great and not cheap. The finish is perfect, the seconds hand hits the markers perfectly and after a month of use I notice a deviation of only +7sec in accuracy. Regarding the case size I was a bit misguided by your video: In reality the watch is in fact rather small. I have a 6.6 inch size wrist and for my opinion it looks a bit too small on my wrist. Still, I keep the watch in my collection because I really love it.
Thank you for your detailed review! Was looking for a smaller dial watch to add into my collection and came across this video. Awaiting for it to be delivered to me now..
Great video, great looking watch! I have been searching for an affordable blue dial watch, I have black and white dial watches and here in the U.S. Amazon has this for under $50, what a bargain!! As always, great view point on this watch, I’m a big fan of your content, looking forward to next video.
Just because the diameter of the watch is 35mm doesn't mean it's a woman's watch. Men at one time wore watches that were this size and it is described on Amazon as being a gentleman's watch.
Cool! So refreshing to see a review of a watch that's kind of outside the usual ballpark, that not every other watch channel reviews! Keep 'em coming :)
i've bought 2 months ago the Edifice Efv-100 black dial sunburst with a black leather strap and a red second hand, at 40mm (43mm with crown--->works good on my 6.5inch wrist), as i was in need for a good, resistant watch. So, owning my other Edifice Efa-115 (yellow stitching) for 14 years now, i thought to myself, how would it be that an Edifice no nonsense would exist?! no sub-dials, or digital displays just a classy one. and voila, the most awesome Casio for me, out there :)Needed some getting use to it, though, as my first one had sub-layers and a domed crystal+thickness...
Hi thanks for the recommendation , just got mine in the post very well finished watch for the money . I was a bit worried about the size , but it wears very well on a small wrist and looks far more expensive . I would normal be a Seiko 5 addict but couldn't resist this one, thanks again !
Casio is great because there is so many choices that they have a watch for anyone. Different tastes different needs different budgets but in the end everyone can get a Casio that they will love and use for decades.
I have 17.5 cm wrist: I tried both efv-100 and efv-110 but I took the smaller version because it so pratical! It is incredible for the price. I paid 60 euros brand new for it
Greetings, Ordered this piece today Amazon, 34 usd, a steal, can't wait for it to come. Thank you so much for the heads-up. You're videos are awesome. Keep up the great work. Randy 👍
OK Alessandro, you were so enthusiastic about this that I picked up the 40mm black version from Amazon and it arrived today. You're right, it's a fantastic watch. I'm basically gonna wear it as my SARB beater substitute. Even on my 6-1/2" wrist, the 40mm fits like a dream. The lug to lug is exactly 48mm but with a nice downturn so it just disappears. You're right, the case is definitely SARBesque which means it has that Seiko magic even though it's a Casio. And the seconds hand even has perfect registration on the minute track. Unbelievable for a watch that retails for $90. Ticks a bit louder than most Casio analogs I've owned but I can live with that. And it's gonna save some wear and tear on my SARB033, especially when I travel. Thanks so much for bringing this to our attention.
My pleasure Steven, and from what I've seen and heard, all seconds hand do line up! Crazy value for money from Casio here... Thanks for trusting my opinion, enjoy it in good health!
Steven, do you mean the EFV-100D-1AVUEF? I thought it was 42 mm. Do you have the lug width on that thing? It would be nice to know its versatility in terms of strap options.
@gnoink yes, the EFV-100D-1AVCR is actually about 42.5mm to the crown guards and 43.5mm including the crown as the crown protrudes a bit beyond the guards even when fully screwed down. Minus either of the above, it's 40.2mm in diameter according to my calipers. Lug width is for 20mm straps. I believe the UEF version is identical but just sold in Europe and the CR model is sold in North America since the UEF version on my Amazon search is from Amazon.uk. The packaging is also slightly different as mine was packed in a metal tin inside an outer cardboard box whereas the UEF version appears to come in a cardboard box only.
This is the best example of how watch size is subjective, there is no right or wrong contrary to what many other say. On your wrist this 35mm watch looks like 46mm on my wrist. All those people saying how some watch is too big, but not adding "for them" at the end of the sentence are just ignorants.
I decided to get the white one yesterday and for me it is as good as you have described it. Thank you for your review as it was really relevant for me to finally making the decission.
I saw it and falled in love, last week I found one EFV 100D, new in a store that was about to close and was selling out all left stock at ridiculous prices. I got the watch white version with leather strap for onli 50€, a great deal
Many thanks for the review. Very well done with excellent photography. This one is impossible to resist. Just received my 110D and I'm blown away. As you say, in the metal it IS that good. Not a fan of bracelets but it looks even better on leather (kind of Aqua Terra/Rolex OP vibe). The case has a cut-away under the lugs so straps don't bind. I have watches costing much, much, more than this, but good grief this has to be the most watch for the least money I've ever spent. Even with a loupe it's faultless. Seconds hand is bang on the markers all the way round the dial and the details are nicely done. So well done Casio. They deserve some sort of award.
Best watch for the money. I have both the black variant with red accents and the white with orange accents. Casio really hit the mark with these models.
Just got this watch. And your review is spot on! I did get the white dial because I wanted one for my collection but they’re all beautiful. And it’s my first Casio. Don’t think I could have made a better choice.
Beautiful watch, sunk into my soul last year, when I saw the first live photos of the EFV-100 on a black leather strap with a black dial, but red elements in the design. In December, my watch will be a year) However, despite their beautiful appearance, they are well, very loud ticking.. The last 10 years I wore the model EF-316, and to hear them you had to try very hard, close to his ear. When I came home in a new watch and sat down at the computer, I honestly was upset with the volume of the mechanism, especially it is heard at night, even in 1 - 1.5 meters from themselves they can be heard quite clearly, and if they put next to him on the bedside table, then to fall asleep will need to try very hard. But beauty requires sacrifices, and I can't give them up)
If you do not like the big round Edifice watches, then you have to check the awesome square Edifice EFA-120L!!! I have just bought it and love it!! Lot of functions in a very small factor.
I have one qustion about the size? Should i buy the 110d(35mm) or the 100d (40mm) ? I have a wrist of 17,4cm but a very small contakt Surface so the Lug to Lug Must be small. The 100d has a Lug to LUG of 47,5mm so i have no idea oft the Watch Hughs my wrist which in you can recommand me . I Need help becaus i have Not the opportinty to Test the Watch. I Hope you Can help ne 😊👍🏻
I really enjoy this watch. I have put a jubilee bracelet and leather strap with a deployment clasp on it, and both work well. It’s well worth the money.
This os really a nice watch. I have Casio watches and they are great watches. Especially for the price you get a lot for it. And this is a good one as well. Love your videos.
The Edifice EFV-120DB is another great daily watch under $100. I have the blue dial reference on a blue and black NATO strap and I think it’s a great piece.
Since I saw your first Instagram post of that watch, I wanted it immediately! I'm trying to convince a friend to get it for me for Christmas or my birthday. But hopefully, I can get it before then! Thanks for the review. Cheers from Austin, TX, USA.
For Summer clearly a great watch, my 40mm watches are a little to big without a long sleeve for my taste and that is a watch I can do everything with and don't have to worry too much. Some scotch brite and the centre links are matt in a few minutes as well.
This in the bigger variant is my EDC watch since summer this year. The band is crap and rattles around, but for me the watch is the smart man´s "explorer".
I just liked the vido, subbed to your channel and purchased the Casio Edifice from Amazon with your affiliate link - a first for me. That is how good your video was. Keep it up brother
Thank you for another great review! I will order one of these Casios from your link after I get my very thin 35mm Citizen Stiletto, the SID66-5191. If you have not reviewed this Citizen, I hope you check it out!
If you have bought this watch has I have I recommend buying Lusee watch screen protector from Amazon (uk).. I brought 30mm and it fits the watch face perfectly without overlapping the watch face which will prevent it getting caught and coming off.
For everyday use I have Casie Edifice EF-129. They are little bit bigger (45 mm), but I like them. Nice and simple. Just time, day and date. Very accurate and reliable. Got them almost 7 years now. Lume is not best, but it last whole night, so when I wake up and it's dark, I can see what time is. I have 5 Casio watches and they are great. I like this brand.
Excellent review ! I will buy the bigger model, in black, because of my wrist size. Thank you very much for your passionate and inspiring reviews ! Éric from Paris
Glad to see you active in RU-vid again Alessandro. I think you would like see some videos on RU-vid of Nick Shabazz, I think your mind will blow up when you see Nick's collection of Casio Oceanus: that's what is Casio when Ups its game in watches to a level of Grand Seiko I dare to say. Nice video and nice watch pal. Saludos 👋 from the Chubby Wrist Guy from México.
I also thought that casio edifice watches were busy looking. But I found so much nice looking watches, really a lot of choice. Really happy with my ecw-m300edb-1ae
Always baffled about how watches wear. At 17 cm, my wrist is only slightly bigger than Alessandro's. And wearing my 40 mm (panda chrono) Edifice, it looks similarly proportionate to that 35 mm. Anyways, beautiful watch, and crazy value... bonkers to buy an overhyped and underspecced hardlex everyday watch when you can have this for under a 100... (said the man who couldn't resist buying another Swiss diver last week... "the only watch you really need" he said... sigh).
I was looking at EFV-510D which has the same styling but is for men. It is too big for my wrist so sad. Then I see this video and found a perfect size for me, thanks.
