The origins of the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers - from their original conception, to their pre-Human-Covenant War battles. They've been used a number of times across history, in different manners and states, and this video covers pretty much all of that!
Tomorrow I've got some EXCLUSIVE (all caps to show how EXCLUSIVE AND SERIOUS THIS IS LUL) gameplay of the wildly popular new C L A S S I C Halo PC fan game - Installation 01, with a little bit of discussion surrounding Halo's direction in terms of gameplay.

I'm a huge fan of odst and Marines in every halo game I play I try has best as I can to save as many odsts and marines even on legendary (most of the time I can't) at some points I restart to the last check point.

There really isn't much for the ORION Project. It was basically just inject some volunteer soldiers with augmentations and see what happens. Most of them died, but those that survived were amazing soldiers, among them being Sergeant Johnson. It was successful but was deemed too expensive for the UNSC at the time and was quickly shut down.

Ah fair enough. Could they really be described as Spartans though? They didnt wear mjolnir armour and the project had been around since 22nd Century and supposedly without any significant development until Spartan IIs came about.

The Spartan 1 program was only called that in hind-sight. At the time it was named the ORION project and had a very different goal, one that turned out to expensive to reach. The Spartan II program on the other hand...

The odsts in my opinion are more like army rangers of our timeline because rangers can pretty much deploy anywhere in the world in less than 48 hours and they are one of the most prestigious units in the army

When I was younger, me and my family saw the “Foreword unto Dawn” movie. When the Master Chief appeared to stop the covenant and rescue the cadets, she was convinced that the Master Chief WAS Cadmon Laskey, because they “Never recovered a body”. Fun fact: Spartans are so far above ODST's that in the Reach book when John117 (master Chief) was still a cadet. at 14 years old he killed 3 ODST members while doing a training session because they where bullying him. In the end it was test from his CO for John to see how he would fare. Cost them 3 ODST members and 2 more permanently crippled. I recommend reading the book, its a GREAT read and shows you how they truly deserve the names SPARTANS. (Not hating on the ODST they are a different breed, just thought it was a fun fact)

I still wish some other gaming company would have created a odst or helljumper game series. Us seeing a bit more about the odsts from training, combat, and even what kind of missions they go through that not even spartans don't get sent to. I think odst are underestimated as they aren't super human but do represent peak human conditioning. And being special forces unit I think they would have access to some of the best weapons, armor, and equipment that not even marines or even spartans don't have access to.

The paratroopers you're speaking of are ironically called HALO jumpers. HALO being an acronym for High Altitude Low Observance.

Squirrel Tamer negative. HALO = High Altitude Low Opening. That is usually what spec ops or SF does if they want to insert via dropping in from an airplane and not being detected while doing so. Paratroopers are light infantry that can be inserted via airplane as well. But They jump low and open their parachutes immediately by static line jumping. They also jump in large numbers whereas a spec ops team inserting via HALO would not

Hey HiddenXperia it will be nice if you made a video about the Sangheili perspective of the war and the aftermath of it, especially from the civilian or non-conbatants' perspective. I know yo've talked about it in other videos but I think it would be interesting to hear more about the Sangheili's perspective of the discovery of humanity's existence before, during, and after the conflict.

I'm actually surprised that Light of Aidan's "Lament" (the theme music for the ODST promotional lore trailer "The Life) isn't their anthem. Also, the Interplanetary Wars are THE big reason as to why I'm pro-UNSC and anti-Insurrectionist... no more of those hard times, please.
