5:35 Imagine having your 40-yo QB charge into the block like that. No matter that most of his career was at Green Bay, his professional commitment and overall performance during that season earned him my respect and appreciation.
1000% agree. It's modern technology and tv stations are allowed to have multiple audio feeds. For sports events, they need to let you select the radio announcer as the alternate version (already synced up). Since radio is usually ahead of TV by like 2 to 10 seconds, all they would have to do is fix the audio delay once and shouldn't have to mess with it for the rest of the game, even during commercials.
This was the national broadcast game (was watching in Denver), and Fox switched over to the Detroit Lions game before this one was finished because the Lions were winning their first game in over a year. Seriously? I was so pissed off that I missed that last drive and the play that won ESPN's play of the year. What a horrible broadcast decision by Fox. Am I still bitter that I missed this Live? Yes.
@Stefon Diggs brad childress... I honestly might disagree with you cause ive rewatched this years team and childress was throwing blitzes and going for 4th downs.. onsides... alot more aggressive than zimmer
Favre had to take over because Peterson after a hot start really sucked that year. The last 10 games Peterson had zero 100 yard games and averaged 3 yards per carry.
@@ckobo84 you are a lying moron. He did not suck that year (2009). He had a career high 43 receptions, career high 436 receiving yards, a career high and league leading 18 touchdowns, made the pro bowl, made first team all pro. You are so uneducated.
@@ckobo84 Peterson suffered a high ankle sprain in the game vs the Ravens, a result of a subtle but dirty trick the Ravens 'D' used where they would catch a player from behind and ride them down with their entire bodyweight on their legs, knees, and ankles. (It's now banned) Peterson clearly didn't have the same rocket speed and mobility after that for the rest of the season.
Guys if we're talking about the first of these miracle finishes don't forget the Miracle at the Met on Dec 14, 1980 against Cleveland. Tommy Kramer to Ahmad Rashad. Look it up my young vWo brothers. SKOL
So the Vikings have had a miracle play in all of their stadiums. Kramer to Rashad at Metropolitan Stadium Favre to Lewis at the Metrodome Bridgewater to Wright at TCF Bank Stadium And Keenum to Diggs at US Bank Stadium
Well Jeffrey, I believe he did. Yes he threw that interception but like almost all of his picks throughout his career, he was always put in the position where he had to go out and win the game. We have all forgotten the dropped passes, bad calls, stupid penalties and fumbles in this game. Don't lay this at Favre's feet. He played brilliantly and took a pounding doing it. This was a total team letdown. Meltdown more like it. That was our Super Bowl and we fucked it up. How does our "D" allow the Aint's to score on almost every possession. They looked scared and played very flat with no energy. I think they spent all they had on Dallas and had nothing left in the tank. Our defense and miscues lost that game. Not Brett Favre.
I don't think a lot of people understand just how loud the crowd exploded. I was listening to the game on the radio and the crowd cheering was so loud that you couldn't hear the people calling the play. I didn't know what happened until a few seconds later when things calmed down a little.
I always liked him even if some of my friends and family didn't. He was so under-appreciated, Sure he wasn't as strong or as explosive as Adrian but Adrian sure benefitted from having Chester with him. there is a reason Peterson would get stronger as the game went on.
I remember watching this game live with my friend. He is a 49ers fan and I am a Vikings fan. I remember when Favre ran 40 yards down the field and leveled Patrick Willis during this game.
FIRST home game opener for Favre and what does he do? You can't make this stuff up! Life w/Favre is better than fiction. Favre brought THRILL...EXCITEMENT...PASSION...PRIDE to both the Jets and Vikings! You believed you were the best team in the NFL...you believed you had a rock star at QB...listen to this crowd...the Viks and Jets haven't come close to this since! FACT...
This was my favorite ever season. Everyone just remembers the end and how we blew it in the most insane way possible but favre had the best season of his career and the vikes were the best team in football despite not winning. After this game they started demolishing everyone they faced until the screw job in Pittsburgh
Jeff Porcaro Groove brother people dont understand that favre was better than any script ever written , I still miss watching the man play he always made watching football exciting and you can't really say that about anyone now a days
ggqbc people also forget Peterson fumbled 5 times that game and he was basically on one leg go back and look at his leg after the game it's was more purple than his jersey
Favre has the best arm of any qb i have ever seen. throws it 49 yds and it gets there in 2 seconds man he literally has a cannon for an arm. before someone tries to correct me, he threw it from the 39 yd line but it was at the very end of the endzone
It was going a good 5-10 yards further than that, too. The guy jumped to catch. You're looking at a nearly 60 yard frozen rope from an old guy. Had an unreal arm.
After that TD pass, I knew that there was something special about this Viking team. To date, the 2009 Minnesota Vikings are still the most talented team they've had since the 1998 Vikings.
@@hehhehhuhhuh7014 Are you fuckin kidding me? John Elway in Super Bowls sucks ass. He has over twice as many picks as touchdowns. Literally in the 5 games he played in, he threw for a horrible 3 touchdowns and 8 picks. Hahaahahaha horrible. 50 percent completion rate. And a rating lower than 60. Hahahha. Overrated super bowl qb! That 98 vikings defense ranked 6th in points allowed. They would have ate Mr. Overrated alive.
@@imthegrinchthatstolechrist4384 Please tell me what is wrong with this: 18-29 for 336 yards, two TD's, one passing, one rushing. The only pick was via a dropped pass. If Howard Griffith doesn't drop a long pass, you can add another completion and about 50 more yards. THAT was his performance in Superbowl 33. Anything wrong with that? Just asking.
@@hehhehhuhhuh7014 oh just cherry picking one super bowl game. How about the other super bowl game when he threw 0 tds and 1 pick? The vikes would have destroyed denver. Read my first comment again. He stinks!
@@c0c014 ya ok we kick your ass all the time and you guys haven't won shit, ever!!!!! Favre made you in 09 and nothing since. Kirk lmaoooo rodgers favre own you
@@skimad1236 Imma roll my eyes at your comment, I'll tell you what. lmao. Like oh no someone thought they missed a call because the line was put in the wrong spot, oh noes! what an idiot! like nah you're just a jackass.
Favre throws to Berrian, then runs downfield and throws a BLOCK for Berrian! Incredible. Peterson, Taylor, AND Harvin, in the backfield together.... Insane.
They came SO close, but no cigar that year but if it wasn't for Favre, they might not have even to to the playoffs at all. Really miss this team, fun to watch. SKOL!
6:26 Had Dre Bly caught that, it would have been a pick 6 the other way and we would see no miracle-people forget that this Brett Favre performance came against a young, emerging 49ers defense full of talent all over the front 7. Regardless, I have to admit that Favre throw to Greg Lewis was still phenomenal to see.
As a Vikings fan, in some ways I am glad that the Vikings didn't go all the way with Farve. At the same time, I absolutely love what the Vikings did that season with him. Skol
I was in Vegas and destroyed my hotel room after that horrendous game.there should gave been numerous flags going after Favre but nope.he could have ran that last play for 5 yards and we would have won as well. This us a heartbreaking one for me.
@@philiplopiano5557 that last second pick sure didn’t help but bruh if the refs made the rights calls throughout the game that pick wouldn’t have even mattered. That game should never have even gone to overtime
The first TD at about 1:00...that was Favre’s first vertical TD since the 1 game he had a few in in 2008 as the Jets offense didn’t work that way. That was the throw where everybody said O shit he’s really back. It was just overshadowed by the final throw obviously.
Don't get me wrong, loved this game, but it was just a regular season game. We beat the the saints in the playoffs, and I believe that warrants the miracle title. Still love this game though and thank God we had Favre that year.
How many people remember Kramer to Rashad in 1980 to beat the Browns on a hail mary to win the division and make the playoffs ? That my friends is the original Minnesota/Minneapolis miracle !!
Kramer to Rashad (Metropolitan Miracle) Favre to Lewis (Metrodome Miracle) Bridgewater to Wright (Miracle at TCF Bank) Keenum to Diggs (Miracle at US Bank)
The original miracle was Tommy Kramer to Ahmad Rashad I do believe it was the last game at the met and it got them into the playoffs learn your history people
