Taken from a documentary about the history of reggae in England. Yes that's The Prince Talking, also Dave B. and Romeo. You seen it yet? I can't believe nobody had found this and put this up yet. Check my other videos. All of them.
It’s one of the saddest things ever mate. A culture that brought people together, united people. Was hijacked and used as a medium to divide people based on where they come from. It truly brings a tears to my eyes thinking about 😢😢
Windrush was not invited, they took advantage of the shipping company offering cheap passage as they were returning to England almost empty, it is a myth to say that Britain needed labour, there were thousands of men being demobbed from the forces after the war, and labour was not in shortage.
British love of music is color blind. They just love great music, which, of course, includes just about everything made by african heritage people anywhere. And how good was Double Barrel?! Good God!

@ALPHENPIRAAT Yes but the rest of the documentary focuses more on roots and dub and it's transition into pop (the clash, the police, ub40).... So I just have 15 minutes of the best parts.
Holy fuckin shit The media ruined or is it the racists who stole the name as entitled whites always do? There are racists using rap music for their message now. The media had nothing to do with it

@@franck25 hello Franck! Very sorry for my late answer. Roddy Moreno ? Great Skinhead...The Oppressed is a fuckin' band...The album "Oi! Oi! Music" ...magic album (I've got it!) But in 84 Roddy was not SHARP...Sharp (87 in USA) When you're Skinhead, no need to justify...people don't like...it does no matter...we don't care. Skinhead it's in your heart and in your head...you understand? No need politic etiquete. My bands in the 80's when I was young: Sham 69, Cockney Rejects, The 4 Skins, The Business, The Last Resort and more... Skrewdriver the first album of course but my favourite single is "Back with a bang", 77 Punk : Stiff Little Fingers, Buzzcocks, Undertones. I like 2 tone Revival Ska...Body Snatchers, I like that! Rhoda Dakar...beautifull girl. For the origins: Ska, rock steady and Reggae 69 (Skinhead!!!) ...My life! I like also Motown and Northen Soul. I like Glam Rock : The Slade ("Cum On Fell The Noise!"), Suzy Quatro & more. But also bands : Motorhead, Rose Tattoo, Ac/dc My favourites Bands when I was 17-18 were The Crack, Cock Sparrer, Bohse Onkelz (ouah!!! Very great), The Burial, Skin Deep, Arthur Kay & The Originals ("watching the rich kids"...my god!! ),The Deltones ( ex Body), The Loafers and french bands like Camera Silens, La Souris Déglinguée, Komintern Sect. I like football...My life! Don't Forget Franck...Bad Manners & Fatty said ..."Just Feeling...Just Skinhead" Franck, You're a good man like Johnny ...See you...
@@rp2364 I undestand what you mean and I like your answer...but skrewdriver ? Huh ?! Are you serious ? This fucking nazi scumbag ? You know, mate, I'll be honest with you, no lies : I'm Black (my dad is Black and my Mum is White). I'll never undestand why some people hate others because the color of their skin. To me, it means nothing ! White, Black, Yellow, Red, etc. We're all human beings ! That's why I like skinheads, all of them, no matter they are Trojans, SHARPs, Redskins or RASHs because they have a thing in common : they are antiracist, so they are all my brothers !
@@franck25 Hello Little Brother! Today I am happy, because I've got a new friend and his name is Franck. I want you to know that I am proud To chat with you. To be a Skinhead when you are a young Black Boy...I find it fantastic...congratulations! Skrewdriver became a racist band in 84 with the album "Hail the new down". Their first album "All skrewed up" (77) and their Ep (maxi) "Back with a bang" "I don't like you" (82) were very good. Ian Stuart were friend with Suggs (Madness) and he is in the movie "Take it or leave it". But after he has been "National Front"... & NS Franck don't Forget the song of the 4 Skins "Manifesto" ... I hate politcians. See you my friend. Your favorites bands please?
@@rp2364 No offense. It's your point of view and I recpect it (only because I know you're not a fucking bonehead) ! I also glad to talk with you, mate. My favorite bands ? Rude Pride and Lion's law (Oi) ; Toots & The Maytals (Rocksteady) ; Bob Marley (Reggae), Bad manners (Ska) and The temptations (Soul). Occasionally, I listen to Blues music, Jazz, African music, Heavy Metal, even Classical music ! So, as you can see, I am open to the world ! BTW, I live in France, in a town called Besançon : the bithplace of Victor Hugo, the Lumière brothers (inventors of the movie) and Pierre-Joseph Proudhon ("father" of Anarchism). And you, where are you from ?
the jamaican music ( ska , rocksteady/bluebeat and early reggae/skinhead reggae/ heavy reggae ) was very popular music in u.k in the late 60's and early 70's , at that time it was very fashionable between the first skinheads but this music was not the its reason for being , the skinhead culture would emerged anyway with or without jamaican music , i like this kind of music too but when someone says "skinheads could not exist without jamaica" makes me laugh , oi it's the music made by skinheads for skinheads
another different thing is that here in england some rude boys copy the skinhead look and some skinheads copy the rude boys look but never but there never was skinheads in jamaica
skinheads born in england in 60's and grew and developed in late 70's and early 80's in england and the rest of europe , jamaican music was widely accepted between the first skinheads that's all but but neither Jamaica or rude boys or jamaican music contributed in nothing besides Fun and entertainment , that's the reality so wake up , skinheads was are and will 100% european and an identity and patriotic movement
I'm not a skinhead, guess I look like one with suspenders, shaved head, black military boots,I just like the style,I've been shaving my head for years people look at me as racist,or skinhead, and I like trump too
In the USA we call people that dress like skins but don't claim it... We call them Herberts. Plenty of those types at oi shows with jeans, band shirts shaved heads and Adidas. How can you wear the standard uniform, without the positive camaraderie, remaining an outsider.
