Here in 2020 and love watching this scene....Hayley the only one left alive after attacking Klaus...the only one he never tried to kill, ironically it was the mother of his child....The one thing this show never addressed was the fact that Klaus was the sibling who actually loved the most, who had enough feelings for them all....hence why he would dagger them for all the things Klaus felt was a betrayal....Vampire family drama

That shows character growth right there. At the beginning of the show Klaus totally would’ve snapped her neck, thrown her off the balcony, and cast her out. Where was here he won’t hit Hayley. He refuses. No matter how much he wants to, no matter how much she hits him, he will not hit her. Honestly some say it’s cause he saw Hope standing there, I don’t think it was. I just truly think he cares enough about Hayley and he’s changed so he just couldn’t and didn’t want to hit her.
Obviously he cared a lot about her. Remember how angry he was with Elijah when she died and he also cried. He even kneel down in season 3 for her. Of course he cared about her
She was the one throwing hits and before Hope even came out on the balcony he wasn't hitting her. He'll never hit her, that's what I like about Klaus. Remember how it broke him when Hayley died.

So much growth. Klaus at one upon a time would’ve killed her! But he chose when he saw his daughter to do what a man would’ve done. He would never hurt Haley. That’s the mother of his child. Despite all they’ve been through that’s the mother of his child and he does love her. I think that shows so much growth for klaus!

This is probably one of my favourite scenes EVER in The Originals. Its so perfect. You can see the emotion Hayley has whilst fighting. The way she hits & punches Klaus is heartbreaking. Him refusing to "Fight back" hit hard. It tells so much. Honestly Phoebe and Joseph are amazing. Both characters are portrayed so well ❤️

he didn't fight back because he knew he fucked up when Hayley mentioned their parents and realized he forcibly removed Hayley from Hope's life for six months because of her actions she made when Dahlia was around and now he realized he regrets doing it, but wouldn't admit it as he still isn't happy with her choice of running away rather than facing the threat in the eye
this scene gives me chills every time... the way phoebe (hayley) screams and her voice is breaking and they both look so broken and they are broken because of their parents and they are trying so hard to not let history repeat itself... it’s amazing
I can't help but feel sorry for both Klaus and Haley, they've both suffered so much but the way Haley tells him to fight back, geez the acting is damn spectacular in this scene.
Let’s agree to the fact that all Hayley and Klaus ever wanted is to gave Hope a better home to live in. Both lacking in many ways just like everyone else, nothing is perfect after all. It pains my heart when I remember all their sacrifices for Hope even up to death itself. I’m also happy of the character development of Hayley from tvd and to. She found her home, pack, family and above all she became one of the Mikaelson, might not be in name but in heart and spirit and they will always welcome Hayley home.
Hayley was a perfect mother so i dont get what you are saying. Klaus was traumatized and unfit to be a father but still she loved Hope more than anything and i give it to him for that

I absolutely love “Fight Back! Fight Back!” Hayley is angry for what Klaus has done. He took away her seeing her daughter’s first _steps_ and she wants to beat him. To hurt him. Give him the physical pain that will never amount to her emotional pain. And Klaus is just taking it. The punches, the shoves, the slaps, because he sees the pain he has caused Hayley and this is the only way he’s going to start paying for it. And I also love “Niklaus!” The way Elijah said it, as if he thought Klaus would really kill the mother of his child. No matter how angry Klaus is, he would never harm Hayley. Because if you guys think back to TVD, this all started with Klaus keeping Hayley safe from Katerina. And although Klaus cursed Hayley, it truly was the better alternative. Klaus had to make Dahlia trust him even at the price of losing his family, although he would save it. He had to betray Elijah and Freya and curse Hayley because the alternative watching his brother and sister die and his child be taken away from him _and_ killing the mother of his child himself. The woman he has protected since TVD. And all through Season 1 even though he never truly loved Hayley like Elijah did, he did more than any of them could have dreamed of to save her. Protect her. (Example of a small thing: “I've got you, love. I’ve got you” which was when Hayley was attacked by witched and she dropped and Klaus caught her. Even the small things, Klaus has always saved Hayley). I truly believe no one was “the bad guy” even though Hayley wanted to take Hope away from her father in the first place, it was to protect Hope from Dahlia. Even though Klaus cursed Hayley to a fate that was awful, is was to protect his daughter and her mother and his brother and sisters

Its a whole shes an angel because of all the evil things klauss has done but it was mostly all about Hayley hiding behind motherhood to live the life Jacks grandfather took from her by betraying the pack, he apologized last episode and asked if they could make decisions together like they once were before jack started complaining about everything the vampires had done and made her choose after klauss pretended to kill Aiden because they wouldn't believe him anyways. Im guessing that's why jack got so much hate, he wanted what should have been if it weren't for his grandfather, but knew it wouldn't happen because of Hopes father being klauss so he gave Hayley what she wanted and stood by her because if they went against her or hope they would be killed, I think he cared for her but he cared for his pack most like an alpha should. and Hayley was just a plus in protecting that pack. Hayley yes wanted something better for her daughter as any mother would but she was selfish in just jumping to conclusions and wanting to force a life that she knew wasn't meant for her anyways as the show goes on she seems to understand klauss more now that Jack is dead and not interfering by crying about her having to go out and fight so her daughter wont recent her for letting her paternal family die and trying to have a life that like I said before they wouldn't have because of Hope being a mikaelson by blood. we will just have to wait and see what happens the rest of the season I think there are like 4 episodes left.

This was such a powerful scene, great directiig, great writiing and great acting specially from Hayley... I loved when she screams "Fight Back! Fight Back!" And Klaus lets himself being beat by her, it shows how sorry he is for what he is done and how much her words meant to him. I hope soon they reconcile, for only then, they would have peace and Hope can have a family
***** No, if you watch carefully you can see he is startled when Hayley talks about their parents and Klaus looks at her shock and he stops fighting then he looks over Hayley's shoulder and sees baby hope. That is one another reason that make this scene so powerful the comparison of their parents with themselves and the realization face on Klaus

You can see him about to speak on what she just said, then he looks over, sees Hope, then clamps his mouth shut and stares in her direction, which makes Hayley turn around.

This has to be one of my favorite scenes ever. The acting is amazing. Joseph Morgan really knows how to express emotions without having to say anything. I love that about him.

Klaus would never KILL Hayley. When Jackson said that he would I wanted to slap him because Klaus is Hope's father and Hayley is the woman who gave her to him. Hayley is probably the safest out of everyone because he would never take a mother away from Hope the way his mother took his father away from him and he loves Hayley in his own way which you can see at times. He may hurt her but would never kill her. Also, Klaus would have found a way to lift the werewolves from the curse eventually I think. He wanted to punish HAYLEY not HOPE and it would hurt Hope to not have her mother so after some time and Klaus calming down he would have saved Hayley.
Plus deep down there's a part of him that loves Hayley, we all seen that when Hayley died knowing that Hope was without a mother even for a few episodes then he later died
She was only trying to make sure that Hope grew up safe, even later on in season 4 Klaus relents and told Hayley he was wrong to do what he did and that he was sorry, put yourself in her shoes, you turn up pregnant and just because she is a first born child of a new generation her own grandmother and uncle Finn tried repeatedly to kill her, her Aunt Dahlia tried repeatedly to kidnap her and certain vampires and werewolves wanted her dead just because she was werewolf royalty and Klaus' daughter, Elijah and Klaus' discuss this in Season 2 " I have brought into the world a weapon they can use agents me" just look at what happened in season 5, had she grown up anonymously she would have had a better life, perhaps even both her parents would still be alive

She lived that away in Salvatore School, but the reason was the Hollow and that was related to the Crescent Pack, that was related to Hayley but since the Originals take up everything in their hands anyway, they did. Also, Klaus died to save his daughter who needed him and took the power from the siblings. That's why the ending was like that. By the way, The Originals was so much better than Vampire Diaries.
Hayley is upset and mad that Klaus trapped her in a wolf form and missed HALF OF A YEAR of her child life. While Klaus isnt aloud to be mad that Hayley was going to take Hope away from Klaus FOREVER, Hayley got off lucky and Elijah once again is following Hayley lead like a stupid puppy. This is truly a family drama without a villain, full of grief and understandable motivations and no right way out. That makes the pain so real, knowing it is inevitable. At least in this scene, this show is all that.
I think that what hurt Klaus the most of this entire situation was that they tried to take his daughter away. He felt that everyone he trusted betrayed him in the worst way possible because they all kinda help Hayley and she wanted to take Hope away for good, she said it herself, she didn't wanted her to be a Mikealson. Klaus never tried to take their daughter away from her, he protected Hayley and he never intended to take the title of mother from her or replace her with other women, but Hayley did, she wanted to keep Hope safe and was willing to replace Klaus for Jackson as her father but by doing so she didn't just betrayed him completely but would had ended up separating Hope from her greatest and strongest protector, the one that at the end did saved her (bc let's be honest, Hayley's plan would had only ended with her and Jackson dead with Daliah easily taking Hope who knows where). I do understand his fury and the huge extent of his retaliation because they messed with the reason of his existence and his biggest weakness, they did not only plan to take her but also took away his ability to protect her when they planned to daggared him for who knows how long. They made the same mistake that Esther did and they all paid Klaus's price for that, even Elijah knew and said that when Klaus awakes they would have to deal with a "Shakespearean rage" and they did. Don't get me wrong, I don't excuse Klaus's actions or take the fault he had in the matter, I'm just analyzing his point of view.
And you are absolutely correct. Everyone wanted Klaus to take responsibility for his actions but no one wanted to own up to their part especially Hayley. As a mom, I hate that she missed her child's moments but that doesn't change the fact that she was going to do the exact same thing to Klaus. Klaus never denied that he did terrible things but he always put Hope & Hayley first.
I love how Hayley's voice has been way deeper during the entire episode until 1:56 , when she's looking at Hope. Like if when she's doing or saying something that involves Hope, automatically,makes Hayley be sweeter and more like herself. Idk i really love the bond between this two.

To be honest I like Klaus the most cause I can relate to him (don't get me wrong he's evil as fuck and I'm not) I like him was raised by a father who hated me and that hate ended up destroying me turning me into a violent, paranoid broken dead beat and because of the many betrayals I've had to go through I don't trust anyone and are paranoid about everything. But to be honest I couldn't care how in the wrong Klaus is generally if he is wrong il admit it I won't justify his actions but when he has done what's necessary and everyone is hating him for basically saving them I feel the need to express my opinions.
Hayley's character grew so much from tvd, she earned so much respect. this scene could easily be cringey but she totally nailed it. the part where she said her parents abandoned her, and klaus' too, and the "fight back". The eyes, the emotion, the tone. Its not easy being the highlight of the scene with so many cameras around you. Let alone holding back a laugh looking at klaus with that nosebleed makeup. And when ure 'hitting' ure just punching air. Really, Hayley was the only female lead that suited klaus. Theyre both badass. Caroline & camille can go away. Writers shouldve just made klaus and haley a thing instead of hayley & elijah thats just so weird, liking ur daughter's uncle. The way she acted when she saw Hope walking is my favorite, she know how a mother feels and as a mother, I always have that look hen my children do something new like first walk, first laugh, first song, all of their firsts

Thank you someone who agrees with me cause everyone thinks Klaus was wrong for cursing Hailey. That got me so mad because she planned to take his daughter away from him and raised with another man and nobody says nothing to her or they give her sympathy. But as soon as Klaus curses her he’s the bad guy. He at least allowed her to see hope once a month and if she succeeded in leaving he wouldn’t have been able to see his child at all. Over all, regardless of there transgressions, both Hayley and klaus fought to protect there daughter. Even though there methods are questionable, they did it out of love, you can't fault that.
