I actually understand why Hayley was crying. Elijah is so noble so when he expresses disappointment in something you did and condemns you, it probably feels like hell.

The scene at the end between Marcel & Klaus is a personal favorite. One of the best of the series in my opinion. They have such and intense and complicated found family dynamic. It was touching seeing Klaus put aside his schemes to just console Marcel shows that klaus truly loved Him like a son & Marcel turned around and loved davina like a daughter.

This show is SO RICH, the casting, cinematography, writing, everything is literally chef's kiss. The soundtrack for the end of this episode to accompany the celeste reveal was so good. There is so much to unpack about the characters in this show but Klaus, Marcel and Elijah are top-tier characters. The way the characters interact with each other, with witty remarks, violence, aggression but then when it comes to it, also emotion. Yes, that scene with Klaus and Marcel at the end was phenomenal.

Davina is one of the best character, who is loved by most of the people in the orginals, where she can do anything to save her loved once, if she wasn't there, those loved ones would be dead or collateral damage in between mikealsons fights

I liked Davina. She wasn’t the worst character for me but she wasn’t the best. She had her moments as a total badass but moments of an annoying girl. In this episode, I just can’t help but feel for her. She’s innocent in this and was just trying to protect herself to live.

I agree! Watching Hayley in the verge of tears in that one scene always gets me, it’s just perfection. You can really see that she does want to hurt Elijah. I don’t agree with what she did, but at the same time, she doesn’t know what a promise means to Elijah. A promise to him is binding by death, by his word. She was told constantly that Elijah never breaks his word, but in this Hayley sees how much his word means to him

The scene with Klaus and Marcel, where Klaus hugs him after Davina died. It gets me every time. Not only does Klaus comfort Marcel, and just be there for him, but the way Marcel almost clings to him, the way he goes back into that hug. They have their differences, but at the end of the day, Klaus is Marcel's Dad, he raised him. They love each other, and there's probably always gonna be some instinct to look for comfort in him, even at his angriest... I love their relationship so much, it's just so interesting to me.

I loved Elijah in this episode. Showing such admiration and respect for someone he loved and lost such a long time ago UGH just shows again how noble and just good of a person he truly is. It's in those quiet and intimate moments/conversations when you can see the true version of who they all were before becoming vampires.

“Dry Oreo Dust” that is literally what it is. The show runner even said it in an interview. They had to do so many takes and Danielle Campbell (aka Davina) so so tired of Oreo crumbs. Lol.

Love how much they explore the witches in TO's. Great scenes between Elijah and Haley. Marcel so clearly adores Davina, he really loved her so deeply as a daughter, seeing him and Klaus bond over that loss and pain is so sweet and powerful, great scene. The exploration of bonds and family is one of my favorite parts of this show. Love Rebekah pointing out the power had to go somewhere.

Elena to Eleaner and Davina to Daviner is a dialect thing with British people. It is also common that they say words ending in “er” with the “a” sound and words like “butter” and “flyer” with the “er” ending at the glottal position (throat) [i.e. But-ah or Fly-ah]. Compliments of your RU-vid Speech Therapist. 😁

As a french person, I appreciate the effort of reading the title in french! The "après moi" was pretty good ngl I agree Jer, so many amazing scenes in this episode like both Hayley/Elijah and Klaus/Marcel scenes were ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!! Definitely one of my favorites episodes, with episode 8, for sure!

Regarding the title: is that a saying in english too? Because it's in german ("nach mir die sintflut") and french. It's usually used to say if someone doesn't care what happens after themself are dead or done with something. It basically says "as long as I'm fine, I don't care about what comes after that" -> after me the flood.

all this talk about Hayley's eyebrows makes me curious to see his reaction to another show called 'h20 just add water' where Hayley and Rebekah play mermaids in that show and are friends also. Anyways there's this scene where Hayley's and Rebekah's characters (Cleo and Emma) are trying to say nice things about someone else to get their other friend to lighten up about this one girl and Hayley's character says "I like her... eyebrows" and Rebekah's character just looks at her like "wHAT? you have way better eyebrows than her. of all the compliments you could have given." Which btw if you do read this Jerebear, you might actually like the show even though it's aimed for teens. It was Phoebe's first acting role if I remember correctly and I'm loving your reactions to the TVD and so far the originals.

Some add an R to the end of names with vowels if they are going to use another vowel right after. So instead of saying DavinA Is they say davinAR is to make it sound better. A lot of languages have rules similar to this.

Marcel losing Davina was :( I actually really loved the way he cared for her like a little sister. This show doesn't really have many great genuine connections (outside of the Mikaelsons, since I don't much care for them) but Marcel/Davina is truly one of them. Between the tug of war they're playing, I quite loved how selfless was the connection between Marcel and Davina.

He being the one who put the spell on the doppelgangers so that they always remain together to make it easier for them to break the curse the witches out on them once he got owta "the other side".. And because of that..they found a way to bring their buddies from the other side, the spell LiZz did.. It was cool..
