This is a little different from my other content, but I hope you enjoyed it regardless! I'm planning on covering both versions of 3 and 4,and then World and Universe. If you have any feedback, let me know! Also, who are you planning on playing in All Star Brawl? Currently, I'm looking at Patrick, Reptar, and Powdered Toast Man.
Something fun to mention: the playable Rabbid in Brawl 3 is how you can connect Spongebob to Super Smash Bros. (Spongebob -> Rabbid -> Rayman Trophy in Smash 4)
doubt they'll put any of our faves in. I dont know nickelodeon sucks nowadays. Ain't like the 00s and early 10s anymore. other than a few PS2 games their games suck
There was actually a Super Brawl 3: Good vs. Evil that I probably played the most as a kid! It had a cool 2D artstyle, a pretty huge roster, assists, and even the Rabbids as playable characters!
I kinda miss how these games had the characters in their respective style. It makes it feel like the actual artists from each of these shows actually went in and helped create these games. And it is just surreal in all the great ways to see a 2D character like Spongebob fight a 3D character like Jimmy Neutron.
Actually, the idea for a Smash like Nick game was also a flash game like these! The characters i remember that were playable were Spongebob, Patrick, Private, Timmy Turner, & I think Otis. Patrick was a unlockable character in that game. Edit: the games name is "Nickelodeon Smashfest"
I played Super Brawl 2 when I was younger and I remember having so much fun with it. *Karate Spongebob & Aang* were my favorite characters to play since I thought they were OP
I'm absolutely a sheen player, his juggles are so funny and the fullscreen headbutt makes him one of the most fun pure rushdowns I've played, funnily enough.
Apparently, the reason Sheen and his stage were removed from Super Brawl 1 was because his tournament mode battle was too hard. Beating him in tournament mode was the only way to unlock him.
Never grew up with these games, but they look a lot of fun! They also look really cursed, seeing a fully rendered Otis fighting a 2D-drawn Spongebob just doesn't look right
The reason I read on why sheen was removed from super fall brawl was because he was too overpowered and kids couldn't beat him, and I mean I understand, I had a really tough time beating him as a kid.
Delightful retrospective, I'm definitely looking forward to seeing more! I had never heard of the Nick Brawl games before, so it's super interesting to hear about them.
One thing I'll never understand is why Bessie Higgenbottom was in the first two installments while El Tigre was not in any installment (including the first two)
I remember playing 2 alot when I was younger, good to see someone talking about it lol,as soon as I heard the intro of the second game I got big flashbacks. I also remember always playing tag team, and the karate spongebob was on my team almost every time. But the second biggest thing I remember was SKIPPER. He was literally a frickin god and I remember hating playing against him every time he showed up on screen. Thank god you brung up the Skipper thing. And made it's own section. I played 3 and a lil bit of 4 (I remember not liking 4 much,90% of the game play was the loading screen lol) when I was younger, but not as much as 2
There was also another Nick flash fighting game that was more like Super Smash Bros. with Patrick as the unlock character. I think Sheen was removed because he was too difficult to fight against to unlock him and his stage.
The reason why Sheen is removed is he's basically become the SNK Boss of Super Brawl Franchise SNK Boss is a special term that usually given to the last boss of fighting game which is... basically had a whole lot of bullshit that only them has access to it.
Damn, you talking about playing these as a kid makes me feel old. I was a junior in high school when these came out and didn't even know they existed until now.
May the gods bless you for doing a retrospective on these notalgic games. I just hope they used most of the roster from super brawl 2 for all stars brawl..yes even fanboy and chum chum..
Thanks! I'd definitely like to do a bit more stuff like this, they're a lot of fun, it's just a matter of having stuff to talk about. That said, I'm already working on making this a series with two more videos, so keep an eye out for those!
"You might be confused by Spongebob as a new character, and that's because the old Spogebob was rebranded to Classic Spongebob." …which must have confused the _hell_ out of newcomers, seeing this Ryu-cosplaying Spongebob being referred to as the original.
I personally prefer the pre-Super Brawl 2 UI and sound effects. But Super Brawl 2 was really cool too. Also fun fact Timmy was released on my 6th birthday which was a really fun coincidence.
i remember these games!! i remember i would usually play as kitty from tuff puppy and create storylines in my head between the characters and think classic spongebob was spongebob from the first 3 seasons who wanted to take the new spongebob’s place.
I remember when I was kid the first flash game I play was Jingle Brawl always playing with SpongeBob Super Brawl 2 was my favorite of all the saga my team was SpongeBob and Chum Chum
So Super Brawl 2 lets you pick both Spongebob and "Classic" Spongebob? That's like booting up Tekken Tag 1 and just picking Jin and Kazuya as your team.
Sheen was removed from Super Fall Brawl because he was very difficult to fight against because hos kick and run attack deals more damage than it is supposed to. He came to Super Brawl 2, but not as difficult.
The Tag Team in Super Brawl 2 was a way to do Multiplayer Since the game had wasd and arrow controls, me and my buddy used to play tag team and just pick Random characters to challenge ourselves
