On the 1 hand, I really hope this series gets renewed for a 4th Season since I want to see where the characters and story goes from here. On the other hand, if the series doesn't get renewed at least the story ends on a decent note which is not something many shows can say that wanted/set up 1 more Season but didn't get them.

@@FalconWindblader That was Ed who advised Isaac for that one. Ed is way better a this sort of thing. the execution was all Isaac. No one gave him any ideas, he came up with a way to win her back almost entirely on his own. All Ed did was point him in the right direction.

It might’ve lost his humor overall, and become less sophomore, yet it became a fantastic show. But it allowed for episodes like this, which technically take place on a ship during a regular mission. No big battles, no seismic changes in interstellar relations, but focus on the interpersonal relationships, and in this case, showing the potential ramifications of any cultural contamination, even if intentions are benign and benevolent.

The way everyone has been talking, plus the way that the post-credit scene ended with literally the lights being turned off on the bridge, suggests to me that the show is really over. The only thing that could save it is a miracle on the order of the original Star Trek in 1967 or Chuck in 2009. It's possible, especially if a ton of people watch it when it moves to Disney Plus. But I don't think it's likely. And if not, at least we got a fun finale. I laughed more in this episode than I did all season. It made me happy.

I pretty sure there will be a 4th season. Because their is way to much unsolved mysteries to not have one. First, you style have those mysterious spider demons with the Shadow esque technology who said they would return. Second, the potential for true all with the Krill-Moclan Axis vs the Union-Kaylon Alliance. Third, their is still the matter of Ed's daughter.

I know the focus of this scene is Claire and John but it is especially sad for me to see Yaphit. If the Orville ever does get renewed for a 4th season, and I truly hope that it does because this show does sooo many things right that a lot of other sci-fi gets wrong, I don't know how they are going to handle Yaphit's character. On the one hand, the actor is dead and I hope they don't just try to gloss over that by recasting him and pretending that we don't notice. On the other, I don't want to see them just write the character off like he doesn't exist either.

The ending to this scene gives me Crimson Tide vibes. From when Hunter is talking over the intercom to Weps telling him to keep the nukes locked up, and then Weps sees that his subordinates are looking at him eavesdropping and he shouts at them "Mind your f-king panel!"
