This is my tribute to the band and to Sir Tony Lewis. The number one influence to my music. My Track: • Lynel - Kalimbo (MV) Credits to the owner of the original footage.
I am one of the biggest Outfield fans on the planet, but this is the first time I have seen this video. I always loved the way Reg Webb played keyboards live on 61 Seconds. Rest In Peace, John, Reg, and Tony. You meant more to my life than you ever knew. Rock on, Alan and Grahame!
I'm one of the first fans of The Outfield in Brazil. I met the guys in 1987 through a cassette of the album ''Play Deep'' that a friend brought back from a trip to Europe. I remember it like it was yesterday, him saying: ''Man, you have to listen to this band. They are exploding in Europe and the United States and are having more success than Bon Jovi!'' Since then, I have become a big fan and to this day I listen to all their albums with the same enthusiasm as I have for 36 years.
@@rambo8218 Reg Webb. Played keyboards on Play Deep and was on the tour. Nik Kershaw credits him with helping him break in. Well respected in the industry and beloved in his hometown of Colchester. He passed away from cancer in 2018.
@@jamesk.bishop105 I was thinking that's who it was! ....thanks for that info...I never knew his name...so sad nearly all band members have passed....Alan is the last and John's brother...what a great band they were...I'm so glad we still have the music.
Great band, how they never charted big in the UK?? The guys use to rehearse in the next studio to us at Scarf studios in East London. Nice to see someone locals make it big, be it in USA. Allan who ran Scarf was a top bloke too, without him there probably would be no Outfield (or Baseball Boys as they were known then).
Allan Alderson became a travel agent after his days in the music industry. He worked for a top agency in the U.K. I had been an Outfield fan since 1986. Low and behold, I married a Filipina in 2016-who is also a big Outfield fan-and guess who booked our flights and honeymoon hotels? Yep! Allan Alderson! Small world.
This has to be one of my favorite videos ever uploaded onto RU-vid. Thank you forever for this. I will watch this until I die and ever after. I'm 30 yrs old and have liked this band since I was about 12 or 13 yrs old. One of the greatest bands ever, out of any genre, too. Tony's and John's vocal harmonies can never be duplicated. They were (and always will be) one of a kind.
thanks johnny boone..great show that..Germany recoeding foe tv..audience had a lot of Usa serviceman there..a couple of the Def Leopard boys too..chatting to them afterwards...we had just finished 2 weeks with Journey in the Usa and flew to Germany for this..Amazing Times
Makes me sad to know I’ve been a crazy outfield fan since I was a teen since late 80s and never got to see them live. Such underrated talent. If people only knew what was beyond “Your Love,” which prob isn’t in my Top 20.
Tony Lewis and Eddie van halen...lost in year 2020...damm...sucks...if tony and Eddie jam...in heaven...hopefully Spinks has some gigs lined up for them. Much respect...great musicians
What a treat, thanks for this video ❤️ born too late to enjoy them and the bunnymen at their peak, but Ill always be a huge fan. 61 seconds is definitely my favorite
The second guitarist.. ( not Jon spinks), CANT find his name or face or anything on the internet. What is up with that?? He is not even credited on play deep on Wikipedia. Very strange anyone have a thought on this?
Very cool 😎👍... It sure would be nice to find a group of musicians like those guys to play with... man that would be a treat... That's the way a band should be having fun rocking out and helping people have a good time🤘...i always liked the Outfield great musicians amazing energy. 😁🤘
