On October 3rd, 2009 a handful of soldiers defended COP Keating against an organized and complex attack by hundreds of Taliban fighters. Eight Americans lost their lives, hundreds of enemy were killed. Two Medals of Honor were awarded and this battle goes down as the deadliest and one of the most infamous of all the War on Terror. This is the story of that battle as told by:

It warms my heart to hear these warriors able to laugh at the crazy situation they were in. Big ups to to the guys that gave it all that day.

Watching the film was one thing. But having now actually read the book. It’s jaw dropping, as to just how close they came to being completely obliterated. And the courage that it took to keep fighting. Uncommon valor, is a common virtue. Has never been a more appropriate statement.

Thank you for your service to everyone. I’ve read both The Outpost and Red Platoon books and try to scoop up as much info as I can. Unbelievable job you boys did despite being failed at every turn by the higher ups. Great job guys making these videos. I haven’t seen the outpost movie yet but I’d rather watch these warriors who actually fought the battle who won and lost that day. Thank you all God bless

This was a great interview. I like some of the questions that I've never seen in other interviews. How many enemy were inside the wire. How many Enemy killed in action. Lots of great new info.

I'm not sure about the geography ,ingress of combatants etc ??!? Though you would think that the U.S. military etc could do more to ensure the defense of the FOB etc. Put out recon/sniper teams to report on the enemies posture etc. So if there was a large enemy element moving toward the FOB etc. They can report on it. Im order to warn the base , get air assets in route etc . These guys are doing their job and they should be able to depend on the U.S. gov to do theirs. Instead they got higher ups that are incompetent and neglectful.

OP Fritsche was supposed to be the observation point and didn't even have a direct line of sight to the Base. The terrorists kept OP Fritsche busy whilst they launched this full assault on the COP. The location of the base surrounded by mountains created an indefensible fishbowl.
