This is the second video in a series on my 2022 through-hike of the Pacific Northwest Trail. It's a vlog that details my experience hiking the trail but also tries to provide occasional context to some of the sights and histories of the lands the trail crosses. I love photographing the landscape so this series is a chance for me to experiment with video more and have fun making music to hopefully tie everything together into an enjoyable set of videos about the PNT.
This section goes from Polebridge, a small off-the-grid community in Montana, to the town of Eureka, Montana, across the Whitefish mountain range.
"The People Before the Park" is an excellent book resource if you want to get a great primer on the Blackfeet and the Kootenais, two of the main groups of Native peoples with deep history in the areas the Pacific Northwest Trail begins in.

Yay, I was actually waiting for part 2 of your journey. Walking on snow can take a lot of energy away, I find only walking on sand dunes harder. Absolutely impressed with your stamina and how you pulled through to Eureka. Definitely looking forward to the next video.

Your videos are fantastic! I really appreciate the background information on native tribes along the way. I got a ride from a Blackfeet couple near St Marys, who had been denied entry into Canada that day because they hadn't downloaded the app. They were just trying to visit relatives across the border and it just made me think about how ridiculous modern political lines are. Bluebird lake was completely free of snow when I came by several weeks later, but I didn't stay there. It's cool to see the contrast. Keep up the great work! -Twig
