This really shows the incompetence of high command in situations. The commander underestimated Chief and overestimated his troops while also unknowingly saving Chief and shaming the Major. It really does show how unique Elites are but that they are also capable of messing up like the commander.
Yeah, I was surprised that he pulled the Major out. I would think even if he wanted the Major to fail he would have just left him to fight the Chief assuming he would lose the fight and die
@@x2zchatIf the commander left the Major and the Major survived, the commander would’ve gotten in trouble for leaving him. He most likely took him so the Major could get the blame instead of the commander
The only gripe that I've heard people have with it is how young Halsey looks, but I haven't heard alot of people talk about this episode so there could be other things people didn't like. How they were fighting I think would be pretty close to lore accurate.
Alot of the lines in this are very cringy and I've heard some complaints about the armor being lore inaccurate. Besides that I like the animation style.
My big issue is that Halsey is, in canon, sort of a mother figure to the Spartan II’s. The outright flirtatious dialogue between John and Halsey in “The Package” is uncomfortable to say the least (for the unfamiliar, she kidnapped and indoctrinated the 6 year old children who would become the SII’s, and played a core part in their unorthodox upbringing).
@@Wrath1999 Exactly what I was thinking. To be fair for whatever reason every author besides Eric Nyuland and especially 343 era(cough cough Karen Travis and Halo TV Show) seems to get Halseys character wrong always.

You know Fred and Kelly isn't going die because they are part of Blue Team, AKA the team Chief lead and is part of main canon. As for Halsey looking too young, my take from it is this: 1. It's Japan, if they get a chance to animate a female character, chances are they'll get a "buff" if you know what I am saying. 2. It could also be that they didn't get enough info on Halsey, and simply decided to model her off of Cortana, which would explain the skintight jumpsuit. 3. A combination of both previous points, that they know what Halsey look like but chose to model her off Cortana regardless for that extra fanservice. Which, being the elephant in the room, Halsey being both a mother figure of the Spartans (and their kidnapper), then Cortana being made from her, and ultimately having many in the fandom ship Cortana and Chief... Yeah, I refrain from comment there.
I think anthologies are meant to express different kinds of artistic styles based off of the individual creators. I don't think of them as adding to the official canon. Star Wars Visions does the same.
I admit, when I was younger, I didn't like the last episode because of how action packed it was, but these days it's pretty awesome. I don't really care how halsey looked, the show was great and I want to see what happens to the disgraced elite. Sadly we'll never know.
This is chronologically one of the earliest missions we see John going on, I believe this is only two years after Augmentation! Also the "Booster Frame" jet bike things as much as I think they are dumb, they are also canon.
I think In general, in Halo Legends, they get a lot of the sound effects wrong. Never understood that (unless it is because of licensing). Like when Kelly grabs the 2 Plasma Rifles in the air and starts firing, the sound of them firing is wrong. The rifles sound like sped-up Phantom main-gun sounds, in the episode, while in the games they have a very different sound to them. There are many such examples, but other than these, and a few other inaccuracies, the Japanese studios did a good job making Halo content.
one thing they did wrong in Homecoming was Dr. Cathrine Elisabeth Halsey's look with the glasses and the long long blone white hair..... same goes with this Dr. Haley..... short hair are correct but the blond hair are wrong she has short dark hair
I think its a combination of a lot of little things that make the package feel icky. most obvious is the faces, they just look bad and the animation would have been better served with them being in their helmets the entire time. cringey dialog, self explanatory. low effort animation in a lot of small places, im pretty sure some of the explosions are just a stock after effects gif pasted on top of the 3d scenes if not the exact same gif repeated and once you notice the bad ones you cant un-see them. a big offender is the overall weightlessness of the characters in general, like during the hallway run theres the weird hang time during chiefs flip and kellys jump. The characters are also extremely stiff, their torsos have no movement while theyre running and it just gives a jank feeling like they just forgot it should move. Personally i think it was just time constraints and they put all their effort into the big moments like the sword duel and them full sending all their rockets to get into the ship (which is a perfect example; awesome rocket barrage and explosions straight into Chief basically T-posing through space alone, the other 2 just vanish even the second booster frame doesnt exist). Halsey looking like shes 20 is weird, also what is that hair my god she a porcupine or something. no 1 thing on its own is really an issue, but all piled on top of each other it feels bad. Aside from those things the story and actual 3d models themselves are great, just needed more time to polish the animation and it would have been much better. In my top 3 of Halo Legends after Ghost and The Duel.
@@ThePTBRULESis it though? We have to remember that Cortana is based from Halsey, and she was sometimes as witty as Cortana. Considering that Cortana is the result of Halsey cloning her brain, I wouldn’t say it’s *that* out of place. But I do agree that they tried wayyy too hard with the fan service lines lol
