Remind me of my Late grandfather and my Dad both were dam stubborn 100 times than a mule 😅 and I was in middle between them all the time 😢they both fine Men they are very tough for the sake of family and they have there own way of love but so much tough it hurts when u growing up till quite age of 25 and seen one of your dam fine men leave this life u feel as one of your strong wings just took out of your shoulders it hurts till ever !! Such a fine old way to send a message to make all of us understand one way or another life it will keep going with or without…. Thanks for this wonderful Movie 🫡

Although I don't typically like colorized B&W Westerns, this was a treat to watch. It gives one a different perspective and brings it to life. I appreciate having a choice between color and the original version.

Acabo de ver un gran clásico de los años 30. Envejeció bien. Las peliculas de carácter siempre están vigentes. Pero un final feliz muy arreglado jeje.

Wow! Great job on the colorization and so much more clearer than the original B&W version offered on RU-vid. Thanks for this. Very enjoyable. This was the movie where the public first started noticing Gable in a big way, and he was the bad guy and didn't get the girl. All that changed fairly quickly after this movie.

@@StellaWaldvogelIndeed they did not. According to IMDB, Gable was in 13 movies in 1931, to include Painted Desert (the first) and Night Nurse (the eighth). Thank goodness they finally got it right -- Gable as romantic lead, not a two bit lead supporting heavy. All the fan mail from the movie going young ladies of the day may have had something to do with their awakening to his true potential, dontcha guess? LOL

My brother and I met Hoppy, and the original Topper, at a personal appearance in Framingham, Massachusetts just before he retired. I was about 10 years old. My brother and I both had official Hopalong Cassidy outfits. What a thrill.

This nearly 100 year old movie still holds up & the 'colorization' process gives it 'new life'! William Boyd's 'silent-era' movie career had ended, but his most famous character, i.e. "Hopalong Cassidy", was still ahead to give him, his greatest success! / Clark Gable's 'meteoric' rise to 'superstardom', began with this relatively small part! Great movie!

Very kool move, I loved it, a lot better than many of today’s films….one problem….subtitles are NOT what they are saying in the movie, they are off quite a bit from what auto correct language is showing. Also, I recognized Hoppy’ s horse, Hop a long Cassidy soon to follow or was this afterwards? It really doesn’t matter to me , I remember Hoppy from seeing some of Boyd’s movies and early films….and thanks to my parents telling me about him…HIGH 5…👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🥰🇺🇸🤔🐴

According to IMDB : Tragedy struck the production shortly after filming began when the fourteen-month-old baby playing the role of the infant Bill Holbrook died while on location. The cause of death was not released. The infant's name was Thais Baer, and she was from Glendale, Arizona. This is so sad..

Ahora entiendo porque Clint Eastwood decía en 1961 que mucha gente creía que para ese año las películas relacionadas con el viejo oeste ya estaban pasadas de moda, y ha sido debido a que ya han hecho películas de ese estilo desde la década de los 30, es decir para el tiempo en que Clint se hizo famoso ya habían pasado 30 años de esta película, wow eso no lo sabía, pues yo nací en el 91

Beautiful and touching to see the fine, healthy chubby baby being taken so tenderly cre of by the rugged, crude, tough men. The young woman is a fine mixture of femininity and practical I. Love the courtesy of Gble and Bill, and the subtle rivalry between them. Thrilled to see which of them gets the girl.Gable seems to think himself inferior because he "only" a hired hand.

This is a rather good story . Little bemusing in the storybook manner of filming. It has a way of being interesting serious and funny. It's a story from beginning to new beginning without soap. And it's about human nature n both sides of fortune.

@@deanguando1335 America has lost its greatness, due in large part to the undermining of its morals by Hollywood. Notice they didn't even kiss in this movie! We were powerless to stop an illegitimate, ineligible deceiver from becoming President, and now we have one who was never elected, but selected; and the election system abused to make it look like a guy campaigning from his basement got millions more votes than his previous boss, and he's as inept and unfit as anybody could be! And his partner in crime (VP) can't talk without making crazy word salads. And we can't even stand up to the Mexican cartels to control our own border! Talk about Faded Glory! Too bad we can't just take care of business and hold a gun to government officials and make them tell the truth!!!

Even though this movies was made in 1931, however the time period shown is from the mid 1800s , it was so surprising for me that the girl never kissed anyone, not even the groom when he whispered in her ear the promise of wedding. I grew up on watching western movies. A kiss was a must, but the conservative environment somehow prevented it. I wonder if this is a full version uploaded on RU-vid?.

Pathe was in the process of ending it's moviemaking in America; it would fold into RKO in 1932. However, it kept it's newsreel operations going for some 30 years longer. You could see Gable rounding into the form he would show at MGM not long after.
