Germany's problem really was more or less that nobody ever went down to R&D and told them to fucking stop. I have an encyclopedia listing all the types of armour they deployed in the war and there are over 100 unique designs they came up with and utilized. Field technicians needed to have a bloody master class in jerry rigging if they wanted anything to function for longer than a day, because everything was a custom piece. The King Tiger was a beast, but was built too late to do anything, too few were made, and there were no replacement parts. My favorite tanks for WW2 are the Russian remote controlled T34 brigade, the German Goliath which was an RC demo car, and the New Zealand corrugated iron tractor they showed in this video. lol
Not to mention that the Germans produced king tigers in such a way that the T34's looked and felt way better. I mean, thick armor made in the wrong formula which the Russians also did with the T34's which was why they lost a lot of T34/76 to PzIII's. Really asks the question why you would make your metals so hard they became brittle, it was no different than pig iron.
6:10 that is a bob simple....or rather THE bob simple. it may aswell be a ork tank since its a tractor with corrugated steel, a few gun ports....its...not great but it has become a tank of legend among the meme community
5:55 It's actually the "Panzer of the Lake", and the tank itself was a Panzer 4. ConeofArc actually managed to track down the image and where it came from.
Fun fact the reason the Americans always brought 5 tanks was a standard M4 platoon at the time was 5 tanks. So a Volkswagen with an MG 42 taped to it is called in, 5 Shermans show up it didn't matter. Although I think the quote you are referencing is "Our tanks were worth 10 of theirs the problem is they always had 11."
Still a stupid quote, if it was worth 10 of the shermans then how come 3.6 panthers were killed for every sherman by shermans. It just sounds like German cope at having been shit at war
Like a Lamborghini. Sleek, Stylish powerful and oozing an air of command and authority, but there’s only so much it can do for you if you have a tiny penis. I literally choked on what I was eating when I heard that. It might be one of the funniest lines I’ve ever heard.
Lazerpig is amazing. He often records the audio while drunk, I think he's slightly insane, but holy shit is he funny. Even his sponsorship ads are worth watching, he spent something like 5 minutes trying to sell Raid Shadow Legends and it had me almost pissing myself laughing. One of the few youtube channels whose videos I'll rewatch multiple times, not for the information though they seem quite informative, but just for the comedic value.
16:31 That thing about the AK47 is complete BS. Forgotten Weapons has talked about the AK numerous times, and it requires just as much care and maintenance as any other rifle.
For every big dick (barely) mobile bunker the Germans built we made hundreds of reliable survivable actual tanks with guns more than enough to take any kraut box and the infantry squad next to it #shermangang
.......erm, laser pig mentions the AK47 in another video (forget which one - maybe one the recent Ukraine ones)...... he disagrees...... you'll no doubt be very surprised to hear
I remember that bit, he just pointed out that the myth of the AK being able to fire if filled with mud/sand/whatever is just a myth. I remember seeing videos of people covering AK's with full on swamp mud and sure they'll fire a few rounds after the fact but they'll start jamming up after a half mag or so.
the ak 47 is actually not as good as you think. it lacks some soft factors like weight, modulability, controllability, adaptability and the amount of ammo you can carry.
You know one of the best fictional tanks I've seen in games are the Crucio siege tanks from StarCraft 2. If 40k was allowed to do research and innovation a Baneblade would be a much better tank and the Leman Russ would also scaled up vastly as it's mentioned the LR tank is far inferior to what was used in the Horus Heresy pity that, thank the Machine God Cawl does exactly that look at his works and be reasonable it's come at the right time too🤔
Sweden has used Modified Leopard 2 tanks that we have modernized and improve on since the 1994. And if you look at design only, its a newer version of the Panther with a bigger turrent house but more low profile. (aka height of the tank). But what do I know? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Stuff like those soft factors are why I don’t really hold WH40K tanks in very high regard. Here’s an example: the hard stats of the basic Leman Russ are pretty much copied from an M1A1 Abrams from the 1991 Gulf War; with the exception of the sights. To my knowledge, a Leman Russ basically just has a telescopic sight that wouldn’t be out of place in WW2; while that 1991 M1A1 has things like thermal imagers, computerized fire control, and a two-axis stabilizer.
The Leman Russ is more of an infantry tank than anything. Sluggish but absolutely bristling with firepower. It has the ability to mount a pile of bolters and a hull-mounted las-cannon, and those are the common variants. The Abrams is a more all-purpose vehicle. The Imperium also typically needs more tanks rather than the best tanks, and a lot of their worlds are roughly on par tech-wise with modern Earth, so they need simple and easily mass-producible designs by the standards of the far future. They make up for the shortcomings by making the hull out of fancy supermaterials and sheer numbers. When the bog-standard Russ won't cut it, they call in super-heavies or more specialized tank-killing variants rather than the base models. You're right about the soft factors of the tank itself being sketchy, though. The sponsons are very vulnerable to AT fire if they're mounted, the tank is not very mobile, and they're not all that survivable once penetrated.
15:56 To its credit, the F-15 does have an air-to-air record of 104 and 0. For further information, here’s a video from The Fat Electrician: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Qp62hR6J0MM.htmlsi=mTSah-oso0CxGvEF
My Fav is the FT-17, it is basicly thw Great-Great Grandpa of modern tanks. being the basic bedrock foundation from the Great War that lead to how tanks work! also i think they are cute little two people deathboxes
@@ihatebofa6 fair play nice answer my favourite ww2 tank is either the churchill crocodile or the panzer 4 (because girls und panzer) or the tiger because it looks cool and i don't care that it was kinda bad irl
German tanks were like m16, slick precise and with quite few issues ... however M16 had a whole efing USA behind it, if something went wrong you just grabbed another one, and if the seconds one broke you called in orbital strike ;) Let's not forget that USA is nearly a whole efing continent filled with resources and manufacturing that nobody could touch (to far to fly) and even they decided to priorisite reliable and logistically sound sherman over wonder weapon.
This was an interesting watch. Had never heard of the Panther Paradox. Was always a King Tiger and Maus guy myself. lol :D And, the BAAAAANNNNEEEBLAAADDDEE! :D Also, yes, Bussian ships are easily sunk by anyone with some good AP placement. :D
russian bias in world of tanks was such a fun thing to bring up. sadly a bunch of shitters kept giving away team locations so they turned off all chat and it became a lot less fun when you couldnt ask the enemy you just one hit how it felt to get bias'd. one of the most bias moments i can remember is when i was in a tier 7 "s51" and one shot a tier 9 "t95" head on. it might be less impressive when you realize it was an arty vs a tank destroyer but still one hitting head on is pretty rare when youre two tiers lower.
Tiger 131 is one of my fav WOT tanks to use. But I will admit that its not the strongest, i have once been 1 shot by artillery in 1st 20 seconds of the game. I didnt even see it coming, pretty sure it was blind fire as well
So another thing to nail LazerPig on aside from him often inserting BS into his videos is the war thunder thing. German tanks in war thunder have always gotten preferential treatment(tough pay 2 win stuff is always better then either) and tiger and panthers for years has been basically in the "bully" tier of vehicles(you could argue the panther still is) and meanwhile russian and american vehicles (less american ones now) have been tiered very unfairly. The whole idiotic russian bias thing comes from crap players that don't know their weapons and their enemy tanks weak spots(which war thunder handles realistically even in the so called "arcade " mode). Also the "supporting terrorist groups" is also a blatant lie, hell a good chunk of their team was and is ukrainian. War thunder devs support their customers and noone else , hell they don't even remove the decorations that are currently used to represent ukranian neonazis aka the guys responsible for all the mass graves that ukranians are "only now" finding.
