The Panzer 38(t) is a Czech developed light tank that was designed in the late 1930s and after the German annexation of Czechoslovakia in 1939 was put into service in the German army.

I do like these late 1930s designs. My favourite is the Zrinyi from the earlier Hungarian tanks video. Looks very steampunk

Those things look like death traps. Imagine the horror of being in a Panther 38 and seeing a Russian T-34.

Indeed. But tank development in WWII had an insane speed...just think about how the Germans went from the Panzer I to the King Tiger in that few years, or the US from the M2 and M3 light tanks to the M26 Pershing by the end of the war.

Weren't the Germans openly flouting the terms of the Treaty of Versailles in 1937? If so, I find it surprising that European countries would take bids from the German military to create new tanks.
