harshal sonawane Just goes to show how stupid some scientists are. they're the ones who came up with the whole law and theory process but they always are so sure that what has been discovered is absolute. f##king nerds. things change dont ridicule different veiws of how things work. @@delinquentdesign I mean, half of the scientific process is questioning what you previously thought was true, it's the entire reason why we've been able to make so many amazing scientific discoveries and the reason was his paper was even accepted in the first place; you just sound like someone who's still butthurt over being told that quartz crystals can't realign your chakra or whatever
@delinquentdesign
@delinquentdesign 5 лет назад
Fake Name its F'd up that this poor guy was ridiculed by some idiot scientists about his paper for over 50years because it didnt adhere to "popular belief" not because any of them even tried to prove what he believed was wrong. Now the poor guy is near his end and and finally told "oh hey you were right all along its just nobody even try to look at your work because some jackass scientist called your science snake oil." My point is if youre going to be a scientist dont be an impressionable yes-man zombie idiot and prove or disprove things for yourself. This man could have been praised for decades and who knows how much further our knowledge about the sun would be if it werent for stupid scientists who kill any new ideas because its not popular belief. Time is of the essence.
@delinquentdesign
@delinquentdesign 5 лет назад
Fake Name and just to be the devils advocate about the quartz crystals, where are your facts to disprove it? See you yourself are a zombie idiot because you are taking someones word for it. Dont do that. What if its true? Maybe people could use crystals to heal. Maybe they are using them incorrectly? Quartz is used in time pieces to precisely keep time i bet that was some hair-brain idea at some point as well. And remember " Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic"- Arthur C Clark. So go butthurt yourself.

I have two thoughts watching this: 1. A huge number of young people that have played "Kerbal Space" probably have a better understanding of the guidance, cooling, and scientific systems on this probe than many of us older folk who grew up in the NASA moon mission days ... and most of them already understand the orbital mechanics necessary to get the Parker Solar Probe that close to the Sun. This includes an "ol' folk " like me - I love Kerbal Space! Some will even duplicate or simulate this mission in the game. 2. I can't help smiling at a young, nice guy, engineer from Alabama that has impressed the folks at NASA with his RU-vid channels so much that they happily let him into one of their facilities to stick a camera in their faces and occupy their time with a bunch of questions. Keep up the excellent work producing these videos!

Destin I know the focus is supposed to be on the scientific content, but your storytelling was fantastic here. Thank you for including Dr. Parker's speech (it was inspirational to put it mildly), but it was also one part of this incredible story. I'm overjoyed to continue to support you via Patreon. You ask the questions I want answers to and beyond (thanks to your mechanical engineering background), and you source the most fantastic people to interview. Thanks from a humble computer science degree holder (I paused the video to write this after my mind exploded from niobium sapphire CRTs).

The sapphire is the insulator as beads with the weird metal wire conductor threaded through them. That was the high voltage control to the grid at the front.

I wish humans had enough stuff to produce photo-electrical panels for everybody's homes... But let's dream about future factory probes able to extract materials from asteroids and other robots to put it around the sun. We still haven't made one of this rotating stations like in movies (the martian).. Neither joint space telescopes interferometry. We will need soon one of this orbital lifters made of carbon nanotubes or other saphires... Too big. How many tons of whatever material do you plan to need for a Dyson sphere ?
