I mean he does have a license in crop circles, along with a variety of heavy equipment licenses and a fishing license. Patrick having a fishing licenense means he can legally kill people, so he must have been important to someone important at one point.
There's is also the time when Patrick went to get his driver's license just to see if it is as hard as SpongeBob describes and aces it first time. him saying he scrapped his boat because it said "E for end" could be a way to hide the fact he missed being with SpongeBob and downgraded so him and spongebob are on equal footing
So true. They ruined Patrick's character. He used to be a funny but caring friend, but in the newer episodes, he's just mean to spongebob and there was one episode where he basically forgets that spongebob was his bestfriend.

I have watched SpongeBob for the majority of my life. How did I NEVER come across JUST HOW accurate that combination of characters is in describing Patrick?!??!?!?!
Patrick had always seemed as though he was obfuscating stupidity throughout the series, more so during the times when he's shown to have an elaborate vocabulary.
This is why I despise the modern Patrick He was stupid in the past yeah but he was also smart and he had a big heart for his friends but in the modern era he is just very dumb and extremely heartless, the polar opposite of the Patrick that I knew. And episodes like Patrick Smartpants made me rethink that maybe after the movie it wasn't too bad until it reached mid season 5, ouch..
I stopped watching SpongeBob after the movie. First 3 seasons are the best. After that, the jokes became very lame and the pacing was equivalent to fairly odd parents. It annoyed me. Only fairly odd parents is the only show that can pull that fast pacing off.

Little known fact: French narrator guy is based on Jacque Cousteau sometimes referred to as the Father of Modern Scuba-Diving. Cousteau also was a pioneer for underwater documentaries, capturing sea life. The reason that SpongeBob is on television, narrated by a French guy is it’s supposed to be an underwater documentary 😊

Patrick isnt a genuis. In the earlier seasons, he was more of a witty but mainly laid back character. He has his head in clouds and is aloof so he doesnt use his intelligence as much. They dumbed him down as the show went because dumb= funny = viewers. Same thing with Kevin from The Office. They severely dumb down characters for laughs, thus taking away the charm they initially had, and in turn ruining the characters.
One theory is that me might have multiple personality disorder which caused his IQ to change between personalities.(idk if MPD actually causes this, this is just a theory I heard on Wicked Binge)
The prferred term these days is DID but yeah it actually can. Especially when you do research on age regression and its connection to DID. I also believe Patrick has DID now after seeing some of the theories I just don't like how some of them used that to frame Patrick as a villain. DId doesn't make you a villain.
I think when the bus took patrick away from rock bottom he knew spongebob would be just fine and got some rest before taking the morning bus back there 😂
I have an IQ of 130 and i love to fool and joke around all the time too and take superficial things not too seriously so i say yes, Patrick could totally be smart. He's just a chill type of guy and his jokes are genius.

I think it’s suppose to be funny yk? The comedy relief being the one who fixes the problem. Comedy relief is known for easing any tension or distress, and I think it’s done pretty okay in an episodic episode. I find it an endearing and interesting take. It might baffle the audience just as similar to the characters. If this show was serious with a ongoing story then I’m pretty sure I’d agree, but this is SpongeBob we’re talking about 😂 it just has to be simple to be enjoyable.
@@rookinrook Except it has an actual impact on the story. If a dumb character wants to drop something super philosophical randomly, that can be funny, but the difference here is that if he didn't go against his character, the outcome of the story would've been different.
I should probably explain something about Patrick smartpants You see when his "brain" plugs into his head which confirms he was smart but his brain wasn't plugged in because his brain apparently relies on electrical outlets idk at the end of the episode it's revealed that it wasn't his brain SpongeBob mistaked brain coral for the upper part of Patrick's head this is what caused Patrick to become a Galaxy brain genius SpongeBob unplugs the brain coral and plugs Patrick's real brain back in I'm also not a big fan of this theory in general The point you made that brain Coral looks nothing like how it looks like in the episode so clearly his head is perfectly fine is just so dumb so you're telling me in real life crabs, squids (or octopus because technically Squidward isn't a squid), and starfish can stand up like humans ( I don't know how to phrase this because Squidward has multiple legs) And I should probably mention this I am not trying to be mean I am just criticizing a theory that I don't like this is a very well-made video I'm sure the Creator is a very nice guy do not send hate to him
You know how they show his brain plugging into his body like a wall plug, i feel like his connection is just a bit bad so his brain is kinda flickering in n out. Also Patrick treats his lazy dumbness as a lifestyle choice, which implies that he could also choose to be smart and get a job but just don’t wanna. He went to community college and has a drivers license which means he can lock in when it counts. I also think it’s possible that SpongeBob put a different brain coral on Patrick’s head instead of his original head, which is why Patrick will randomly say something smart. I think by shrinking down to go in squidward his head connected better allowing for a random burst of knowledge from the brain coral. He just hates how being too smart makes him so miserable so he never has the coral plugged all the way in.
Love the video and i support the theory except those first two episodes were a serious reach, SpongeBob wanted to be a fry cook since he was a kid and likely talked about it a lot so regardless of intelligence patrick must have known how important it was to him and hyping him up is more of being a good friend than intellect, and if he knew that guy would buy all of their chocolate he wouldnt have been running away from him the whole episode compiled with the fact noone else wanted their chocolate kinda shows it wasnt a genius moment either
I think Patrick has the mental equivalent of adrenalin strength. He can access his full mental faculties only under lots of stress. When he says “we have technology” and doesn’t use the computer to just Google how to get the paint off I don’t think hes trolling im pretty sure hes that stupid
In the first several seasons he was the smartest damn character in the whole show (except maybe Sandy). Then after Hillenburg left they ice picked him for some reason.

Idk if we’ve just been spoiled by channels like Alex bale and the theorizer but I found myself very underwhelmed by this video.
