I am 1/2 Finnish. My Dad is full blooded Finnish. This was interesting and melted my heart, as well. I never knew that about Finland and Russia. So glad the Finnish Saints did that for the Russian Saints. How beautiful of a gesture. I hope healing and unity came of it.

Interestingly, I bore my testimony a few years ago about contention in my own personal life and how it can quickly cause inner turmoil within relationships to emerge. I am thankful that I had the fortitude and super power to practice gospel truths of patience and humility to endure those situations.

The story of the Finnish and the Russian saints reminds me of the Dutch saints giving their entire potato harvest and tons of herring to the German people after ww2.

What a perfect talk for us all to pay close attention to, as Russia is now at war with Ukraine. We need to remember that leaders may choose poorly, but the Russian saints are still members of our church, and we should treat with the same love that the Fins did. My respect to the Finnish people.

I went to the military, learnt how to defend against the potential "enemy" from the "east", went to the UN/EU Peacekeeping troops in Africa. Have really many Russian good friends. Many of them follow Christ and have strong faith. Agree with Elder D G Renlund, and interesting to hear his Finnish background. I feel this question is even more timely now in China, not between Finland and China, but perhaps a "West" in general and China. We indeed need the spirit of love and example of Christ's resurrection to overcome the serious challenges our world faces right now.

when the prophet said he urged people to get the vaccine, I heard of people looking up the word “urge”. This was an easy one for me, but I tremble waiting for something will be bound to be difficult.

He mentioned on social media six months ago that he changed his diet and exercised. The weight loss was intentional. I’m glad - I was worried at first too!

Elder Renlund tweeted on 4/9/2021, “ ....I thought of my physical health. Together, Ruth and I have supported each other in making healthy food choices and getting plenty of exercise this past year.” I assume it might also have something to do with the healthy example of President Nelson. It seems like a few apostles have slimmed down recently.

You need to know the depth of this history before passing judgement on it. This isn't the place for it but it's out there, easy to find if you'll take the time to do so. And I believe the word you wanted is "ally".

I hadn't caught this. Thank you for pointing out this distinction. (I'll admit, I've felt prickly about such a quick acceptance for an Emergency use, experimental drug. But I'm trying to learn to let it go and "... Let the consequence follow." as the Hymn: "Do What is Right", states.)

The TRUE JESUS has “eternally existed and is uncreated and IS the ONE AND ONLY TRUE GOD”. LDS jesus is a created being which defines this jesus as a “false christ”. One that cannot save the soul of men.

@@brisanikolina1537 i believe he is talking about the father, son and holy ghost being one being rather than three separate beings. From his perspective Jesus came down as a physical manifestation of God and essentially ceased to exist when he returned to heaven becoming God again. This refers to his stance of Jesus being made( as a physical manifestation of God) and unmade as he returned to heaven. Regardless of this difference of opinion which is believed in a few Christian churches we must follow Elder Renlunds advice and allow others to believe certain things and express that although we may believe in certain things don't allow for a discrepancy in thinking to create an argument. Many of these types of messages are from people who honestly believe these things but post them in comment sections where they know they will be questioned ( could not be the intentions of this individual). Do not allow small seeds of contradictory information to sow seeds of doubt, anger on contention. Love you Sister! I hope you enjoyed conference. Hope that your family is well and that your able to find happiness and joy even during these trying times. God loves you, always look to him when you are in the dark, hold to our saviors hand as he leads you through it and keep the holy ghost close to bring you peace and light when things get hard. Again, remember you are loved sister and there are angels to guide you. Bye!!!
