The Peace That Exceeds Anxiety
One sunny day, Anna felt overwhelmed by anxiety. Unspeakable fears gripped her heart, making her nights sleepless and her days endless.
Seeking comfort, she flipped through her Bible, hoping to find answers. First, she read Psalm 34:4: 'I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.'
These words shone like a light in her mind. Anna realized that facing her fears did not mean doing it alone, but counting on divine help.
She decided to pray and turn her worries over to God. Then she found Philippians 4:6-7: 'Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.' Hannah felt an unexpected peace after reading these verses. The key was to trust, pray, and give thanks, knowing that God was in control. She began to apply these truths daily. Whenever anxiety tried to overcome her, Hannah prayed and reminded herself of these promises. Over time, she noticed a change. It wasn't that her problems disappeared, but the peace of God sustained her, even in the most difficult moments. Hannah was no longer alone; she had found refuge in God's Word.
