I watched a short from singular sound and in it they stated that you could damage your amp if you’re running the beat Buddy through it like you would run another pedal through. That video recommended using a PA system for the beat buddy. I think if you’re using your main guitar amp utilizing a mixer is a good idea.
Hi - Great tutorial! I am an intermediate guitarist and primarily play acoustic, but know little to nothing about speakers, amps, recording, etc. I am wanting to know what else I would need in addition to the BeatBuddy in order to utilize this awesome device. For example, what type of speakers, or can I play through an amp? Can I plug my acoustic pickup into the BeatBuddy? Do I need additional cables? etc Finally, if I want to record a backing track or bass track along with the drums from BeatBuddy, what do I need? Thanks!
I had an issue when deciding Beat Buddy or Band Trio plus. I went for the band trio plus pedal. I am thinking that the Beatbuddy is just a regular drum machine in a pedal. Nothing diferent from a regular drum machine. The thing is, i need to press it allot while the band creator just makes the thing for me and all i have to do is switch parts, wich works okay. It can be hard to keep the tempo when making new loops/parts. So there are pros and cons on both pedals. I might get Beat Buddy in the future when it will cost like half of what it cost now. Band trio is cheaper and it comes with drums and bass, soo I thought that it was a better buy and that external footswitch you can buy for almost nothing is very usefull with my other rigs.
@ThePedalGuy - Correct me if I'm wrong, but I keep reading that you have to pay 250GBP to be able to access the full library of patterns? And that the manufacturer has deliberately pre-installed only a limited amount of accompaniments so as to force you into an after-sales corner!
Not that I’m aware of. There’s so much that comes with the BeatBuddy already as far as patterns and songs go. The expansion library that you can buy from singular Sound is just that. An add on.
Hi Pedal Guy Couple of questions.... Aside from all the fills, are there only part 1 and part 2 transitions for each selection?...and does this apply also to the 'extended' library which can be purchased separately? Thanks again 👍👍
Congratulations for the video man. I highly suggest that you try to keep this 5-min format. It's easier to consume and make it direct and content specific. It's good to keep a future reference library! Thank you!
Thanks! I appreciate the feedback. Believe me, I would like to keep it to 5 minutes all the time if possible. It's a lot of work running a full time retail business and constantly shooting videos and doing social media all at once. I'm always looking for ways to speed up the vids when and where possible.
I currently have a Mustang LT 25 amplifier as my starter amp with an input and auxiliary input headphone jack and FTSW plug and I’m going to be getting other pedals as well. Do I run a stereo out to a single plug that goes into the input on my amplifier? You most petals have a single plug that goes from pedal pedal? If I’m going from pedal to pedal and I come to the beat buddy do I just put it in one of the left or right inputs or do I get a stereo adapter to come from a single plug on the previous pedal? I’m going to upgrade my amplifier to something much better soon but for now that’s my set up. I also have a focusrite 2i2 i’m using for recording voice through my SMBd7 shure microphone but I’ll also wanna use it to record guitar and bass in. Additionally, want to use pedals. Kind of new at this site. Find out the correct hook things up.
Hey there, yes, you can! Check out our short showing you how to change the functions of the footswitch you use with the BeatBuddy. You can make either the left or right footswitch act as the main pedal. ru-vid.comLCyidHQ9mYw
Thanks for the question. Honestly it’s not a fair comparison as the TRIO builds a full song with drums and bass and also includes a looper. The BeatBuddy is simply a drum machine. However if you look through my channel you’ll see pretty quickly that there’s a ton of vids on the TRIO so I like that pedal quite a bit. 😉
@@ThePedalGuy I'm confused about this issue. Someone said you couldn't just select a pattern and play on it indefinitely, like the cheaper looper/drum pedals (Nux loop core, Mooer micro drummer, etc)
@@gliese667cc-band3 they don’t know what they’re talking about. You can start a song on the BeatBuddy and let the pattern play until you’re blue in the face.
It's well lit, which will come in handy on a darkened stage? no man, a darkened Stage you don't need a bright display, you need a display that you can read in bright sunlight, at your Festival gig in the afternoon. If it's too bright, that makes it actually harder on a dark stage. But I'm sure you knew that, yeah ?
@@georgerose1315 Hey there, you can change the function of the footswitch to be a tap tempo by heading to the BeatBuddy settings. Check out our short showing you how to do this here: ru-vid.comLCyidHQ9mYw

Hey there, the BeatBuddy comes default with a country folder with 8 different beats to choose from. As far as bluegrass, you could easily use our Brushes Beats folder which has 10 different beats.
@@misterknightowlandco I get your point, but I couldn't disagree more. It's really simple. If you want something even easier, the BeatBuddy Mini is half the price and still has all of the cool sounds and grooves.
