The Pedway: Elevating London is a documentary on the post-war redevelopment in the City of London - focusing on the attempt to build an ambitious network of elevated walkways through the city. Featuring interviews with professor of town planning Michael Hebbert (UCL), architecture critic Jonathan Glancey, city planning officer Peter Wynne Rees and writer Nicholas Rudd-Jones (Pathways), the film explores why the 'Pedway' scheme was unsuccessful and captures the abandoned remains that, unknown to the public, still haunt the square mile.

7:55 Whenever "visionaries" planned the "city of tomorrow", the results were dystopian ghettos, built for mindless livestock maybe, but certainly not for people. Avantgarde architects seem to think very little of their fellow human beings.

Ive lived in some pretty varied personal urban orientations. Each one has a massive effect on how me and those that live around me relate to each other. From the co op where from the minute your eyes are open you are in a space not exclusively.yours . This has many plus points re community cohesion and opportunities to nurture empathy and understanding. To a house on 'straight street' where everyone has their own compound.everyone leqves for work in the morning in a resentful grump,all unhappy all silent .

Thanks for the documentary! I took a class on Environmental Psychology but forgot most of the material. Only when I started constructing fictional cities and studying how video games create their environments did I realize how much consideration goes through the designers' heads.

this is same like a korean sewoon pedestrian high line way (Sewoon sangga Re-Structuring Citywalk ) in Seoul City Center but many korean architect argument this structure
