I don't know if it's on purpose or not, but for the logo it seems like the G is meant to look like a Penguin... Not sure if that's just me seeing more than what is there or not!
I'll be honest, I never really regarded Penguin as being that great of a baddie. Sure, he's a classic old-timey villain, but there was never really anything about him that had me clamouring for him to be in Batman stories 🤔
This looks interesting and good, but there's no reason to call it, The Penguin. It should just be called, "The Gritty Mob Boss". Nothing about this character portrays the character of Penguin.
@@cl4-tpgaming Based on the Penguin is a bit much.. They might've taken some inspiration from Devito's penguin, but Tony is clearly based on real mobsters, not some insane comicbook villain lol
Its funny. The old gangster that Penguin was talking about, in the comics, was Selina Kyle's father. The movie took that backstory and used Falcone instead.
The new 52 version is the whole mob boss , or brian kyle or wtvr Batman dark victory from 1999 says falcone is her father , and its also why she goes after falcone in year one and long halloween , or maybe just year one but im pretty sure her beef with falcone is mentioned in long halloween
The writer’s strike delayed Reeves from finishing The Batman 2 script. That’s why it was delayed. Gunn’s taking over as CEO of DC studios really didn’t affect The Batman. WBD really liked the October release date and it once they released it wouldn’t be ready for 2025 they pushed it to 2026.
I extremely hyped for this show. The power vacuum that Falcone leaves behind an Gotham struggling because of the flooding is a great spot for Penguin to rise up and become a real Mob boss. and another benefit, through the actions of this show Batman 2 can take place in a familiar but changed Gotham, that's a great concept for building up Gotham
You guys are pumping these out so fast, I can’t help but wonder if this may become a replacement for the trailer-paloozas. But more on-topic: I grew up watching Batman ’66, so I have a soft spot for Burgess Meredith’s Penguin. (He was so beloved by the show’s staff, that they always wrote a new Penguin episode as soon as his current one wrapped, then basically called him every Monday morning to see if there was an opening in his schedule yet.) And while he doesn’t have to go full Burton, I’d love to see some subtle nods to his campy roots. Maybe this Penguin has a penchant for sashimi, I don’t know.
Its sad that the penguin character is remembered for the 60's show and Danny devito one and not for the one in a lot of books who ran Gotham underworld that went toe to toe with joker, two face and other murderous characters and still came out as one of the most reliable baddies in the city. Theres a book when batman was older and penguin told him that he realized batman was bruce Wayne from the beginning but didnt put it out there because he figured by exposing batman as bruwould leave nothing but batman without the humanity of bruce Wayne and it would be more dangerous without him having a tether.
My only gripe with this is if you removed "The Penguin" name from it, it's literally any generic mobster thing. Nothing really screams that this is a Batman thing, it's boring 😒
The movie was delayed just because apparently Matt Reeves is a slow writer and he didn't wrote anything during the writers strike. In theory, nothing to do with James Gunn plans.
It is a good tip to not ever get titanium folks. If you ever jam your finger, they need to use a diamond saw to cut it off. A jeweler warned me when titanium was all the rage.
i like the route WB is going on. the batman, the penquin, the joker, The Deathstroke. and surround them all or end them all with their each scene with ending where they meet batman
I've watched the trailer a few times and this is the first time I've noticed that Penguin has an umbrella in one scene! Either Patreon or RU-vid, I'll be down for your reactions!
No 'We're watching trailers in separate places...' broadway number, Jay? I'm so disappointed lmao. Seriously this looks great. Can't wait. I was wondering how they'd explain Batman not being in it, but if they do it right, it'll work. Talk that intense monologue sheet, Colin!
Okay, why is this a continuing trend of, you know what Gotham needs? Less Batman. Really? Does it? Are we going to do this with Superman? Is the Perry White origin story coming?
