One thing I love about Matt Reeves is how much content he shoots. He had enough content for a trailer for The Batman pretty early in the production cycle. Matt Reeves just goes to work in a snap and I respect his ethic. He's such a thorough director.

I'm very excited even though I'm more of a fan of the traditional British gentleman Penguin. I get that they're taking a more Italian mafia approach with the character which I'm not against and while not my favourite take on the character I'm still very excited.

Imagine a character in this iteration of Gotham who’s a talented actor, a master of voice mimicry and as skilled as Mike Marino when it comes to using makeup and prosthetics to transform his identity. If the rumors are true about this villain’s first live action appearance, then that could be a grounded take on Clayface in The Batman Part II. Edit: And I just thought about how horrifying they could make him look after a few punches from Batman, with smeared makeup and shreds of skin-like latex hanging from his face. A fight in the rain, under the dim lighting of the city would make him appear to be melting and coming apart.

Colin Farrell is awesome. Hopefully, he wins an Oscar, soon. I know that he was supposed to be looked at for a Quentin Tarantino Vega Brothers planned movie. But, unfortunately, that plan went away, and now, QT is planning on making an 8 episode TV series, himself.

Colin Farrell’s Penguin and all his mannerisms reminds me so much of Robert De Niro in Raging Bull. Knowing Colin used prosthetics to achieve his look just further emphasizes how much of a drastic commitment Mr. De Niro underwent to draw himself in to the psyche of Jake LaMotta. I think Colin will nail this. Loved his scenes in The Batman!

When the Gotham show was first announced, I think this was more in line with the vision they had or at least what most people imagined before the show came out and had a more cartoonish, campy style. Excited to see a show tackling the underworld of Gotham, maybe we'll see other street level villains come in as rivals to him.

Everyone keeps saying this gives soprano vibes, but I don't see it. He kinda looks like Tony Soprano sure but the sopranos as a show had a completely different vibe. It was more of a family dramedy and psychological character study first, rather than any typical gangster show.. and the cinematography and vibe of that show reflected that tone. This show (which I'm interested in, don't get me wrong) actually feels more like The Godfather or Boardwalk Empire.

This looks like what I wanted "Gotham" to be. Granted, different network and genre... but I love this crime-story angle they have for this, that's grimy & gritty. Treating Penguin not as some gimmick, but as a story about his rise to power in the criminal underworld & front. Perfect expansion of "The Batman" universe. Definitely looking forward to this.
