The title says it all. I made this leaving out the seeds and adding your bread spice instead. The best part of making this bread is not having to preheat the oven (I do not have a bread maker). The result was Perfect!
Love you vids but must say found it funny that German lady was showing me how to make German bread while wearing a shirt with a British Union Jack. As I’m British I will simply say thanks..

I don’t think I’ve ever commented before but when I saw you are using the exact same bread maker I have in Melbourne Australia where I live, I became very excited. I had to laugh at your story about the paddle remaining inside the bread you gave to your son, that’s happened to me so many times. I just love your recipes and always make them. It’s always a challenge finding the more specialised ingredients but totally worth it. You are an amazing master teacher. Thank you again. ❤
This is what I have been looking for!!!❤ I am very German at heart! Plus I speak fluently German so that plus being European makes me more German than some German Americans LOL. Meiner Meinung nach natürlich! 😊
There are a lit if different versions of Bauernbrot, do you know from which region in Germany your favorite is? I‘ll put it on my list for future videos then. I do have recipes that are a bit like Bauernbrot like the Mischbrot.
Thank you for the video, I just made it using the oven method, it’s so good! 😊 Can I use less water next time? The dough was very wet and sticky this time, which was hard to handle, maybe the wheat rye and spelt in the US are different.
I just watched your video again, and noticed your dough was pretty wet and soft too as you added the seeds, except your loaf was baked directly in the bread machine so you didn’t need to handle the dough.

Liebe Grüße zurück und ja, ich habe auch Brote mit Sauerteig auf meinem Kanal. Sauerteig hat viele Vorzüge aber ich komme nicht regelmäßig genug dazu damit zu backen. Es ist eben doch etwas mehr Arbeit und Zeitaufwand wenn es 2 oder 3 stufig sein soll. Mit all den Videos die ich drehe, ... nicht immer leicht dafür Zeit zu finden.

Yes. I actually slice the bread and freeze portions of a few slices for my son. So he can thaw a few slices at a time. But you can as well freeze the entire loaf without slicing.
For the breadmaker I can use cold water since it’s having a heat phase anyway. For making it in the oven, use luke warm water. I mention that in the printable recipe, too. Otherwise it would take too long to proof.

Hiya. Fellow German here. What size setting in your bread maker do you use for this recipe? 1.5lbs or 2lbs (my bread maker has 1 1.5 and 2 lbs settings) Danke schön
My breadmaker is for 2 lbs. The recipe might fit into 1.5 lbs. but I'm not entirely sure. In my breadmaker there is always some space left with this recipe.
