I miss working at whataburger, when things got slow I'd go smoke in the walk-in and make myself a triple patty melt with grilled pickles and extra onions. Good times, great food.
Just figured out how to find the recipe section. Ha!!! Your video stole my heart, 💓... My favorite sandwich as well. Now I will make them at home.🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 Thnx from Houston, TX.🇨🇱😁
HERDEZ GUACAMOLE SALSA, mild kind is fantastic on this Patty Melt. I sure hope you get this note. I make this particular sandwich like you very often.... Thank you so much for this video. Houston Texas. 🤠🇨🇱
i'm hungry but not for food .... she's a doll. Did you know in the 1977 thru 90 the Jim's burger in east los angeles on atlantic bl. had the best patty melt in the world. the place is no longer around. That patty melt never found one like that again. The Patty melt was on white toast , American cheese , mayo, onions, is what i can remember .. so juicy so good . Your pattymelt looks pretty close , the pattymelt .. my favorite burger. i'm known for the pattymt
@@HipsterDog-do3mm the difference with smash burgers is that you’re supposed to smash them before the meat is in the process of cooking, bc if you do it while the meat is in the process of cooking then it will squeeze the juices out
@@FOLLOWURH34RT well said. a half inch quarter pound grill burger doesn't have the same rules as a 1/8 pound 2cm burger built for cooking in a pan. You still never wanna squish this type of burger, but applying light pressure is fine
But its not. Not even a little. The melty cheese, burger grease, onions, and most of all the spicy mayo all combine to make it plenty juicy PLUS the soft bread buns also are quite moist. They are FANTASTIC. Ive even ordered them once or twice without the spicy mayo sauce just because I thought they were too soggy but its just not the same without it.
Call me old fashion but it is not a “Patty Melt” if you don’t use rainbow rye and Swiss cheese. Just saying.... It’s like a Reuben, it is a very specific sandwich. If you bastardize it, you don’t get to call it a Patty Melt.... Sorry.
Bullshit. A patty melt consists of toppings on top of a grilled cheese sandwich. A grilled cheese is just grilled cheese. A grilled cheese with tuna is a tuna melt. A patty melt is a grilled cheese with patties and other toppings. You heretic
Could be a regional thing. Some places use Texas toast, some other places use Rye bread. Where I grew up a patty melt was on good grilled Rye bread with grilled onions, pickles, Swiss and American cheese.
SO TRUE!! THANK YOU!! Pisses me off when these places SAY they have "Patty Melts" when all they are selling is a cheeseburger on toast without the fixins!
@@kevinking7952 I agree but suate'ed onions, done correctly take 20 minutes to really caramelize but in most restaurants, they just grill them up on the griddle with mushroom or whatever just enough to soften them to slightly transparent. I think I can give forgiveness on how long they cook the onions but swiss cheese and rye bread fo sho!
