I’m a Philadelphia Police officer sitting here at 4:55 am on a Saturday morning having coffee waiting to go to work. I can honestly say after this video i can’t ask for a better morning. Thank you Petersens.
That's how you do it. You dress up, you perform in a beautiful setting, you tell a few stories, a few jokes -- and you nail the music. This family has a lot of class.
Julie Ann didn't act like she wanted to be there the first time I saw them perform....it was several years ago. She's right there with the rest of them now! It's been fun to watch her progress. Love this family's music!!!
1974jrod Enjoyed the good sense of humor, good music from talented folks using their gifts for good in this evil world. Your music is fun and a blessing. Thank you Petersons! Keep posting!
The Petersens have a problem some gold and platinum record holders can only wish for. FIVE lead singers to make room for. Matt sounds as good as his sisters and Emmitt sounds like family. Each with a distinct personal style.
@g baker, right here at the beginning, he talks. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7Ep3Ni2bPUg.html And now you can hear him sing. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xRfPUrsnejg.html
@g baker Yes......he has sung the lead on "Near The Cross" and "What Child is This". He has got a great voice........like a Fernando Ortega type voice.
I have also been amazed and blessed by the way they always love & prefer each other - they have such sweet spirits toward each other - no competition & turning out such beautiful music!! To God be the glory. Loved Beulah Land! My church is on Beulah Church Rd. Blessings!!
@@oginaz Your thought is easily shared and assuming that rap is defined as music, which objectively is not, as it is only rhythm and nothing more, it can never be compared to real music, composed of melody, harmony, rhythm and if added to the perfect performance, as demonstrated by this wonderful family musical group, then the capital (M) must be placed before the word Music. Cordial greetings.
All four of the Peterson’s can sing. Emmitt is great on that dobro. My dad played the debro. He died in 1976. But my mom played mandolin and guitar. Aunt’s who play piano, guitar, mandolin, fiddle, bass (all of the instruments). My uncle who was a great banjo picker ….he played at the Opry…told my aunts that if they would stick to one instrument they might be more accomplished. However they have a band….in which mom played mandolin. She died a year ago this past June. The aunts continued with the band. My brother plays the bass with them. The Hallmarks. Composed of three aunts who are in their late 70s and 80. Point is music will carry you guys far….even when you are in yours 80s and 90
Eat your heart out Pop Country Radio! So refreshing to hear good music without any reference to "how good a girl looks in dem blue jeans" or the likewise. Vocal harmonies are terrific, instrumentation is stellar, polished group, well done!
More talent in that room that we see on the majority of the "new arrivals" on the Grand Ole Opry "circle" over the last two decades. The Petersens should be among the biggest names in country music within a short time. The rendition of Beulah Land is out of this world. Captivating. Please come back to Ireland soon again. I will be including "Beulah Land" on my show on Sky 376 Spotlight TV (Ireland, UK and Europe) on Tuesday night, May 12. Ye are an amazing family. Michael Commins, Mayo, Ireland.
Second favorite for me. About 10 days ago RU-vid suggested a song called "Why don't my finger got a ring". Never heard of it so was surprised it was there. After watching several other videos, I clicked on it. Five times! It was cute. Since then, I've watched nearly everything I've found by this family. That is why the ring song is my favorite. If not for that song, I may never have heard of the Petersens.
@@drftsnvk Yeah, I only sang it all night long last night, instead of sleeping .. argh! What a pleasant thing to lose sleep over though.. Ya can't be mad about that now can ya?
Julianne's voice is AMAZING! I LOVE Katie's song "California"! and Ellen's version of Jolene is AWESOME! Matt's OUTSTANDING vocals with Katie and Ellen while keepin' that guitar rhythm in with a little at the right time, so fine. Emmitt on the slide is OH SO GOOD! The icing on the cake is Mom Petersen on the Base. How COOL is that? God Bless The Petersen Family and Friend. The Petersens are a Blessing to all that hear them.
I love Ellen's intro. She is very comfortable sharing her faith in the Lord with the audience. I am glad your family had an opportunity to perform to the inmates and give them hope.
The best aspect of this family is you feel better after hearing their talents and gifts, and seeing their love and kindness in their demeanor. The world needs more families like this.
I’m a public school music teacher and left this concert as sub plans for my students before school got out for winter break. Thanks for keeping your music clean and family friendly! They LOVE your family! You have 200+ very young fans who all now want to play “the fancy string instruments”. ❤️
That's sweet, friend. And I think in one of their vids the Petersen kids said their Mom wisely made them all take 2 years of piano lessons before choosing another instrument. I thought that was good to know.
Git it Momma YES My dad played the Bass for the band Tennessee Ramblers, my uncle Seiver, and McKinneys, back in the day, way before you were born! You rock.
This whole family (and I include Emmett) are so supportive and joyful of each other. I like how they each take a role in announcing the next song, and the digs and inside jokes are great. There is obvious love and respect as well as a pleasure in their music. A delight to watch!
I'm French, aged, 75, I've played country for over 55 years, Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, Bill Silverman, Brownie Mc Ghee, the Lost City Ramblers, Joan Baez, John Denver, Peter Paul an Mary and many others. I feel in your way of interpreting country music, a lot of sharing, simplicity, talent both on the vocal and instrumental level, well no stars but a group of sincerity which touches me a lot. Each one expresses himself, with a lot of support from the others, the voices and the instruments stand out without polluting the group, each his sensitivity, what is simple and harmonious is difficult, not for you.
@Long duk dong I'm not exactly of the same opinion There’s a lot of similarity between country music and folk music, however, folk music’s breadth is far wider than country. In essence, country is one part of folk. It is a unique style of folk music. Many folk songs are work songs (Woody Guthrie : Hard travelling - Jackhammer Man Blues). Folk themes also include protest songs (Bob Dylan : Blowin’ in the wind - Woody Guthrie : Saco and Vanzetti album - Joan Baez : Here's to you) . These also include sea chanties, railroad songs, and cowboy songs. The origins of some old folk songs are not known (Wayfaring stranger - House of the rising sun) Country music has its roots in the American southeast and west. Its stories tell tales of lonely cowboys, lost cattle, love gone wrong, and hard-drinking at the local saloon. The Petersens music is a bit of two styles, but predominantly country, the use of dobro, for example is not used in the real folk music where the instruments were more rudimentary. When they sing, "Country Road", is typically Country Music. Some songs as “City of New Orleans” are both folkmusic (railroad song) and country music.
@@gerardbongibault30 Two folksinger/songwriters you might enjoy are Stan Rogers and Cheryl Wheeler. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MEuTMa-Xnaw.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xbPf496-jWU.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nKHSBHahwiA.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6k3CN7loNjs.html
@@RogerBarraud Of course there are stronger characters than others, the Mama, Ellen, Kattie and in instrumental Emmett. But they fairly share the presence with the others, it is in this way that I appreciate the balance of the group.
So incredible! You Go GURL...Julianne will be the Valedictorian of her CLASS! I went to a small Christian Day School and I'll Never REGRET it...Julianne
Unfortunately it's not. They're not THAT famous... YET!😂😉 But they're blessed anyway. It's a beautiful private resort in Branson called 'Rock Canyon' formerly owned by Bill Medley of The Righteous Brothers.
Two years ago I had you show up on my feed on here and it was a great time for God to share your family with me it was at a time when I suffered a great lost and I have been listening to your family every since and again today on the anniversary of our lost of our daughter you are here giving me more hope and getting me through this God Bless your family and I hope someday to see you live thank you you have no idea what you have done for me thank you
Thank GOD we live in an age of recorded sound & vision, without it we couldn't experience wonderfull music such as this. I love your song 'Calfornia' Katie.
Everything about these people is amazing. It's like drinking wholesomeness out of a silver cup. Their tunes just feel life affirming. Good for them. We need more of this right now.
I have the feeling this country will have several thousand heart broken men on the day that smile gets married. Those young ladies have an inner beauty that overwhelms the outer beauty. I believe that smile is from the overflow of that inner beauty. May the Lord continue to bless this family.
A "like" is hardly sufficient for this amazing family. I am a broad lover of good music from bluegrass to metal and this is one of the best groups I've encountered in a long time. I'm particularly partial to Emmett's dobro playing (a difficult instrument he plays masterfully) and Julianne's singing and mandolin playing. The original song California is also beautifully written and sung. Cheers from NC.
You are most correct in saying a like is not enough .I'm now a fan of these girls and boys as they are nothing short of awesome .Best Wishes to all from Dorset ,England .
„Gentle on my mind“ - my absolute favourite, wonderful performed by the youngest sister. Greetings from Cologne/ Germany 🇩🇪, and thank you for this great concert!
I got the impression Katie wrote "California" based on personal experience. If that were me, I would have a very difficult time singing it without shedding tears. You are a resilient young lady, Katie. Beautiful work. Thank you.
I'll just say it. This version of "No Roots" beats the pants off the original. I went to look up the original, and it didn't have half the energy you guys put into this. What an awesome groove you put into this. Mama set it up with the awesome bass intro, Julianne killed it on the vocals, Matt's solid driving rhythmic backbone was perfect, Ellen and Katie's backing vocals were UNREAL, and dang it, if there is a better dobro player on earth than Emmett, I haven't heard him. His solo was a scortcher. You guys made this your own in all the best ways possible.
[Dan, the Republican, but not a Trump Nazi] With all the tearing down of America Pass The Buck has done, he hasn't managed to wipe out the beauty of our Country/Western/Bluegrass music.
they are the neutral americans not even bothered by politics, just having there happiness with joy of there music.....pls leave the politics out of it...just enjoy there music
You do realize that this is current day. This is still the America that you remember. America is a diverse country and this is only one version of America

Katie's song "California" .. WoW! We are all out there(like glen Campbell hanging on the Line) hoping you will find the real thing ..not almost . . . outstanding . . . speachless
The way to win people’s hearts is to make them smile, to entertain them causing happiness to flood their soul. That my friends, you have easily accomplished. May you feel joy in knowing that you’re making a big difference in the world!
"Bravo et Merci" from France 🇨🇵 ! A huge thank-you to the Petersens family for introducing us to this beautiful face of the USA: a united family of beautiful people who make great music together! For this, God bless them, and God bless America !
Robert Burris Yes yes yes. And I love her (Katie) smile. All of them have very beautiful smiles actually. But Katie’s- It’s so full of joy and just contentment.
Wow, this family makes me so proud to be a Missourian. Yes, I also found tears slowing rolling down my cheeks and I’m not sure why. Maybe it’s the holly spirit filling my heart with pure joy and great music. Bravo Petersens! 👏🇺🇸❤️
I am a singing member of a gospel music group, "The Carriers". I also own a small sound company. I've done sound for a few bluegrass groups and The Petersons are one of the best I've heard. Live sound for acoustic instruments is not an easy thing to accomplish, due to a combination of the omni-directional microphones and feedback through stage monitor speakers. Once dialed in though, it sounds fantastic. I truly appreciate this style of music and The Petersons do it with class and a tremendous amount of talent. Soooo Good stuff here.
Wow! I just discovered this great family band. What a pleasure and blessing to be able to see and hear these folks. So much talent! Can't stop listening and watching...here in Northwest Fla.
I live in Tijuana, Mexico I found this group some months ago lisening contry songs, and instantly found the best band I ever heard in the world, I loved all the songs of the live Concert. By the way here in México is really strange that somebody knows this kind of music. so beautiful and peaceful songs and lyrics, I loved this band Recomended for lisening at the start of the morning, while watching the sun rising behind the mountains👍🌄
They play instruments and sing songs very well and real beautiful women don't need make-up nor dressing like sluts. They may be the all-American dreamt girlfriends / brides
I am from Indonesia, far away from your country. Although I can not understand fully the meaning of the words in your songs due to my poor English, but I really enjoy your songs. Thank you......
Ever feel the spirit of love just fill your soul. These folks are the real deal. You must go see them in person, you will walk out of the theater feeling blessed.
Thanks all of you. Love from Denmark (I guess that is where your last name comes from) I don't remember the last time music put tears in my eyes. I'm 60+. You guys and galls did it. Best music I heard in years. And I mean all of you💓🇩🇰💓🇩🇰💓
I just discovered the Petersens and went to Pandora Radio to listen to their channel. It opened up a world of Christian music to me that I had never heard.
Look at the blessing of a God-ordered, God honoring family. Praise God praise God. OK I’m gonna stop commenting now but I am just so thankful for this on so many levels.
love Love LOVE this family! Talent + Humility = Perfection. It's beyond refreshing to see people (especially young people!) on RU-vid being fully who they are rather than trying to be who they're not. Thank you Petersens! ❤
Step away from the Peterson's for a little while and get busy with life and then I come back... and life is in perspective again... you guys are just awesome! Impacting lives with your music:) 🥰
Guys, thank you for making us happy in this difficult time! I listen to you on the other side of the world and you please me with every video! Please continue, your music brings people together and reduces distances. Thank you!
