Emmett Franz 22:48 Country Roads feat. Katie What a great concert! Everything had top-level musicianship and audiovisual quality. Really enjoy y'all's introductions to the songs, too.
I loved all the songs, but more than that is the love between the family members, I hope you stay way for rest of your life, nothing better than the love between brother and sister. God bless you and your parents for raising this wonderful family,
How did I just stumble upon this now? Phenomenal talent. My favorite part is the way this family celebrates one another, not a jealous bone to be seen. We could use more of you in the world.
Wow just found this and you all!! Ya all sure have my wife and I a singing along!! Phenomenal job, proud of your talent, God has blessed you greatly! Thanks be to Him! Colorado cudos....Karl & Debi!
I like Mama. She may not be in the spotlight, but she's the foundation of the whole group, both family wise and acoustically with that bass. Round of applause and a high-five for Mama.
Karen Peterson gives this excellent group a solid foundation for their music. They are all excellent but a strong bottom end glues it all together. The vocals of this group are incredible .
Yes, she does a wicked job. I love acoustic bass, but I wish it was amplified some because it's often very hard to hear the bass. Patsy Cline is also great.
@Maurice Halimasch Actually the slide guitar or dobro player is Emmet Franz from another great country and bluegrass family. The guitar player is Matt Petersen who figuratively stands a step behind his sister but is just as worthy of being a solo superstar as they are.
I rarely make comments on youtube. But the Petersen family are so special. I'm a jazz musician, and yet, I am so drawn to the authenticity of their music, and how it exposes their personalities. I watched one of their videos, where they are are having breakfast, after one of their shows the night before. They are comparing how many cups of coffee each has drunk, and THAT is about as naughty as they get. And on stage, when they are performimg, they smile in appreciation and admiration of each other, shy, almost apologetically. And mom in the background, with perfect bass for the occassion, never ever overplayed. Emmet's talent speaks for itself. And their musicianship, never competing or overplaying, and always complimenting and in concert with the feel. I never get tired of listening to them. My compliments to Karen, Katie, Ellen, Matt, Julianne and Emmet. Lâche pas! (French Canadian version of 'Rock On!'
I especially appreciate comments from musicians. I can never remember a moment from any of their songs when something just ddin't sound right. Everything always sounds just perfect.
Harry, I believe you speak for us all. I find myself totally mesmerized by this family. Such a refreshing reminder of how things should be in the midst of a chaotic world. God bless this family and Emmett too!
I found the Petersens on youtube by accident one night a few weeks ago. Stayed up till the sun began to rise watching and listening. Haven't been able to get enough since then. Have subscribed to channels, and am going to become a patron as soon as I decide on the level to commit to. You three young ladies are AMAZING!: beauty, talent, and charm off the charts! This is EXACTLY what we all need (now more than ever). Keep it coming Petersens!
I agree. They are all so talented but there is no sign of jealousy, in fact the complete opposite, you can see the joy in their faces from seeing their siblings do well. Beautiful.
They're modest, so I just want to give a proper shout out for their Patreon - it really helps them create more music, especially in these times when income's dropped from live shows and festivals. Chuck in as little as $3 a month to keep them topped up with coffee while they create 😉
Yes, Yes, Yes! The Swallowtail Jig! I love Irish music, and you all play it fabulously! Thank you, and keep it coming. PS - How about hosting a trip to Ireland for your fans?
For the few who down voted this I’m not sure what you were listening to but you might want to get a hearing test. I’ll be waiting for the world tour in ‘21.
Katie, Matt, Julianne, Karen, Ellen, and Emmett: Wow! What a spectacular band. Each one of you is so talented. Your music brings me and my family much happiness. Thank you!
I'm listening to it again and love your Swallowtail jig! Emmett's little percussive part in the beginning is very cool. I couldn't believe he was making that sound with his fingers, so I started looking around the room to see who was banging on something. lol. I guess that's one of the advantages of a Dobro player!
I shared your music with my 95 year old grandmother who loves gospel and bluegrass...thank you for sharing your amazing talents. Her second husband after my grandfather died played guitar and fiddle in bluegrass festivals, so it brought back tons of memories. Love all your videos!
Thank you all so very much! "Moments" is peaceful and beautiful. Thank you, Emmett, for reminding us that happiness is always shared. We were created for fellowship with our gracious God and one another. Keep up the special work!
such a amazing family unit... just beautiful ..your music warms the heart and stirs the soul and yall actually play real instruments which in this day and age is very refreshing.... thank you...fantastic
What a terrific family you have, can't believe the total talent. Wish I lived closer I would love to see you guys live. Your mom did a fantastic job with her family.
Moments is just an absolute hit. Emmetts singing is special. His earlier work before joining the band was great but there's no doubt the Petersons bring out the best in him. Thank you all very much!!
Katie excels on SWALLOW TAIL (starting at 12:30), that 5 string fiddle is amazing, the fifth string is in the C chord, love the way she string bends and her extended multiple stop bowing passages are unique. I believe her fiddle has a flatter bridge, which decreases the angle between the strings and allows two or more notes to be played at a time. Very impressive artist as well as the rest of the group...
I’ve fallen hard for these lovely talented musicians! I think for me, it reminds me of my childhood and how families were years ago. I hope you all realize the incredible blessings you have; not only for such a beautiful sweet family, but for the awesome talent each of you brings to the group. You’re truly one of a kind! I love you all! 🌺🌺♥️🙏🏻
I discover you (today from France). I ve been listening to you from 2 hours. Wonderfull !! I really loved ! A great pleisure. All is perfect ! Choices of music pieces. Perfect Interpretation always. Sound of the instruments and voices. Beautiful voices. And so charming singers !!! And your adorable simplicity always. Lot of thanks, and go on !
It was half past three in the morning, I couldn't sleep so I decided to watch some you tube videos ... don't know how I found you, but let me say .... I watched and listened to you until 5 o'clock! Night was over but I didn't miss sleeping because I have had your wonderful music. Thank you so much for sharing your talent with each of us! Greatings from Cologne/Germany
Keep trying to figure out which sister has the best voice - and the only answer I can come up with it is: whichever one is singing right now. All amazing and so pure in their own pitches/styles. More more more please!
Oh, what surprise! De-li-ci-ous! I can stay here just listening you forever! Since "The Carpenters" in 70's I had never more this amazingly peaceful and joy feeling as the one you allways are able to bring to my hart and soul! You all are an unique God's gift to us! Thank you! Thank you a lot! Thank you so much!
@@EberFish I am German, living in Germany, and lots of folks here are that way, even in there hobbies always aiming for the max. Doing something for fun is hard for many of use, not everyone, that's true.
I didn’t know this was exactly what I needed tonight. Your family gathered around that microphone is almost as beautiful to see as it is to hear. Thank you for sharing your talents sand hearts.
The only thing this group is missing is an old guy blowing in a little brown jug and whaddaya know....I'm old and I have a jug. Have your people call my people and we'll do lunch!
Another amazing performance, and I have to say, Emmett's song literally brought joy to me. He's an accomplished songwriter there is no doubt. This one could rise up the charts fast if that's what is wanted. Thanks for an enjoyable interlude. Stay safe
I donated during the livestream. Hope that gets to you and not RU-vid. Thank you for showing me the greatness of the Christian vibe, so much so that I'm going to go to church on Sundays for services when everything opens up again. 🙏
Great performance again, so natural, takes a lot of practice to make it sound so good. Not a Christian myself but I just love music, and its the thing that binds us all. Special regards to Emmett, he must know the movie and the most perfect soundtrack ever, daring to also go for creating a song is a big thing, but totally liked his speech and song. What I like most about you all that its difficult to pick someone you like best. With every song I hear the instruments and its just so well combined all, Emmet is crazy good, Katie just makes all melodies run well with the violin, Ellen on the banjo (a instrument I recently restored and know its difficult to play well) just nails it, Julianne on the mandolin an angel in the back with an angelic voice, Matt the big brother on the guitar, and mums in the back giving it a solid base on the bass. All totally expressing you like to do this. Hope to see a lot more specially pop tunes recreated by you.
Oh Katie, you make that fiddle speak with so much emotion, specially in the Irish jig! The slide guitar playing by master Emmett is just one of a kind! What a band!
Last week we somehow "found" your family on youtube - since then my family and I cannot stop watching you...perfect voices, wonderful mix of instruments...when do you all come to Germany to show your talents? My four kids, my husband and I definitely would buy concert cards to listen to you in real life :-) Take care and stay safe! We all will follow you the next coming years you all play together...To say it in "American style": you are just amazing :-)
Can't wait to see you guys live some day!! Just when I think I have picked a favorite person, the next one comes along..and I am hooked!! Love you ALL!!!
I just discovered this group and i LOVE everything about them. Moments was one of the most beautiful songs ive ever heard. Why are they not on mainstream radio?
Found you on RU-vid one night. I enjoy watching all your clips that you post. You all have such a great time together. Don’t ever let the music industry take that fun from you. Thank you to all and stay safe!
These are very good harmonies. It is also impressive that various members of "The Petersens" can sing lead on various songs. The instruments do work well together. Very impressive harmonies.
Thank you for an amazing performance.... Julianne's smile is infectious. Being from UK its now 2.00am so time for zzz.... Looking forward to new album. Stay safe!
You guys are a beautiful example of how to play together in a band. Each does his/her part without over playing the instrument. Like a beautiful painting, each of you brings just enough of your color to the canvas. Blessings to all of you.
