Agreed. If it were solely about game play, Russel Hantz would have won his seasons. But he lacked the social component. You have to be able to play the game but in a way that people still like you enough to vote for you at the end.
There’s a difference between being mad at how someone treated you and being mad that they beat you. Some jurors just was to get their egos stroked and so they vote against the person who got the better of them, and while that is within the rules of survivor, it completely goes against the spirit of the game and there’s no real way for a player to stop that from happening

You obviously have the benefit of hindsight, viewing some episodes and talking with castmates in between playing and doing the interviews, and being a superfan he could extrapolate as to what Kim would have done with him in the game. But in the game, Colton was an agent of chaos, so there's probably scenarios where he does challenge Kim for the win.

Reed voting against Missy to me is iconic, because he knew exactly how the votes would play out. He wanted Natalie to win, but knew Missy and Jaclyn would tie if he voted Nat, so he voted Jaclyn because he felt like she deserved second place more. Petty af? Absolutely. But weirdly Reed also voted the exact way a Juror should and put someone in the position he thought she deserved.

To be fair, Lex first votes out his friend and a really nice guy in Ethan all for Jerri. Ok, sure, Ethan was a past winner and Jerri was loyal. Then, to "secure a favor" from Rob, despite Jerri's 100% loyalty, he votes her out in a blindside. So essentially Lex betrayed two of his own friends just to get betrayed himself. He 1000% deserved what he got. He could have gone to the merge down 5-4 and likely easily gotten Tom to flip. Instead he rolled up down 6-3 and expected that since he destroyed his own alliance Rob would... What, exactly? Vote off one of his own loyal guys? Should Rob have voted out Tom, Jenna, Rupert just for Lex? And then what? Kept Lex around until he won? All as thanks for keeping his girlfriend of oh, I dunno, 2 weeks around?
Similarly to Vytas and Reed, apparently some people on the Winners at War jury considered giving Michele votes in the finale to make sure she got second place over Natalie, but in the end they didn’t want to risk Tony’s win.

I'm surprised that MULTIPLE jurors of Winners at War didn't make the list. IIRC, the story goes that while on Edge of Extinction, Natalie and Yul got into a HUGE shoulting match that required them to be separated by others (Yul apparently took too long getting supplies/food or something). This caused Yul, along with several others (Adam, Jeremy, and someone else) decided to flip their votes from Michele to Tony to ensure there was no chance that Natalie could overtake Tony with a great final Tribal Council performance. Rob also said while casting his vote that he would have voted for Natalie has she given up immunity at F4 and made fire (this likely applies to Amber as well). So, while Tony gets 12 of 16 votes, it was MUCH closer than the count showed.

If you’re going to immediately betray someone who helped you not quit the game, gave up their award in your benefit, and threw immunity to you, expect that unconditional generosity to be cancelled out down the road. It’s also hard to call this a game move that Dawn had to do since it obviously didn’t help her win a single vote in the finale, which I feel like makes Brenda even more justified since Dawn didn’t even make anything out of the betrayal in the end.

Reed's jury speech is top 3 in my book. 1. Snakes and Rats. 2. Wicked Step Mother 3. Kelly Wiggles's pick a number (would be number 1 if it actually decided the season). Most other speeches are memorable for being extremely emotional or overwhelmingly awkward/cringe.

I was hoping to see Randy’s vote for Bob on Gabon, he practically hated all three finalists (Susie for the cookie incident, Bob because of the fake immunity idol and Sugar because she laughed at Crystal’s vote confession and when he played the fake idol) and said all three can kiss his ass on his confessional and he was the swing vote that led to Bob winning just because he didn’t want to vote for Susie and Sugar pissed him off with her answer

Some juries are rightfully pissed off at the remaining contestants, and others seem like they needed to spend more time at Ponderosa to blow off steam before being allowed to reenter the game. Season 41 for example definitely could have benefitted from 39 days, because that Jury needed to take ALL the chill pills.
That's literally part of the game and it's just so conveniently praised by fans when the jury's angry at a woman and lambasted when one wins. And it's accepted in the Survivor bro circle that no woman has "the skills" to win without a bitter jury.
I feel like Dawn did say she couldnt continue the game in that moment too. So i think Brenda was a little justified as game wise. Brenda was my favorite that season until she asked Dawn to take out her teeth. It was so low and nasty and mean. Same here, because even when playing online Survivor games, I've still called finalists out for mishandling the jury management part of the game, and do find it hard to vote for people who will vote people out in such a way that creates resentment instead of good feelings as they go on the jury
About Kim’s possible gesture, pointed out by Troyzan. I know players aren’t allowed to communicate at certain times, but I find it hard to believe players never have subtle gestures, nods or some form of sign language that are easy to get away with, or producers let slide.

11:03 the same "I'll vote to get you 2nd place" happened on 3 of the 4 new era seasons so the people is doing it a lot. And on 41 even when I believe in Danny's reason of Erika not taking his question so he voted for Deshawn, he still voted for his closest ally in the game.
Danny voting for Deshawn isn't petty. He voted for his friend, he didn't do it to take away from Erika or Xander out of pettiness. Similarly, Jonathan voted for Mike because he and Mike were buddies out there and James voted for Cassidy because of their friendship :)

Sundra's vote for Yul (Cook Islands) 3. NaOnka's vote for Fabio (Nicaragua) 4. JP's vote for Ben (Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers) 5. Abi's vote for Denise (Philippines) I may be forgetting one or two significant ones though.
If I recall correctly, Fabio and NaOnka actually got along fairly well in Nicaragua. I think they both also bonded over smoking weed, hence the plant on her card. After Na's quit production altered both her and Kelly's edits. They made Purple Kelly invisible and made NaOnka utterly insufferable. I'm not suggesting she wasn't unpleasant by any stretch, but apparently production made it seem worse than it was and edited out most of her better moments. I could be misremembering all of this, but I'm pretty sure that's why she voted for Fabio, they actually somewhat got along and it just didn't make the final cut.

Lol people lose teeth (in America, RIP to this country). It is not that big of a deal and Survivor is a genuinely life changing thing and they are making a show. It was an epic moment. Don't understand why Jeff pressured Brenda to apologize to Dawn in the reunion. I was fully expecting an apology from Brenda to Dawn. The pregnancy was a gift for Brenda not to have to show her face at the live reunion. Brenda no doubt felt some shame, and would've been embarrassed to be sitting there the whole time. So again, strange of Jeff to pressure Dawn, not Brenda, to apologize.

I can't blame Lex for his jury speech on All-Stars. It wasn't about feeling betrayed only in the game. Lex & Kathy felt genuinely betrayed by Rob due to their friendship outside the game, since they kept Amber instead of Jerri only due to Rob crying & begging them to keep Ambuh because she was special to him. They did a favor for him, but he didn't do to the same for them. Kathy even mentioned this as she was voting (but she still voted for Rob to win anyway).
