These Phantom motors are blowing up Left & right. I know 4 people personally who got ripped for 300 spent hours installing getting stranded and hours tearing down the motor. They aren't happy they aren't lasting long at all
@@americanpatriot212I don’t belive that lol zeda is known for over heating my friend has issues plus u need to keep em at 20mph breaking it two tanks ur Doing something wrong an it don’t take hours to tear down lol I can tests down engine in 10-15 mins lol
Yessir standard chainsaw design. The piston acts as the bottom of the transfer ports when at bottom dead center, fuel mix sliding by the piston itself and up into the cylinder transfer.
Yup, and the "wings" on the bottom of the cylinder are simply there to seal off the case where the old transfers would be... I am wondering if filling the old case transfers would act like case stuffing. As of right now they are just empty space, but I don't know if the outcome would be positive or negative.
@@LAHover yeah give it a try! If you have an old YD case to experiment with. My hypothesis is that it would not hurt anything at all, perhaps even improve a little bit. I think it would aid to keep gas concise, dense, directed, and channeled with shortest route possible up to the cylinder. Maybe even increase compression a bit like you mentioned similiar to stuffing. But I dont know, I dont have one of these bad boys, so I am just working off of the short videos I have seen and my imagination. Idk, maybe the case transfer ramps there are actually beneficial with this cylinder, allowing like a staging area for gas to hangout before entering cylinder. Maybe one stroke pulls gas from intake into bottom of the case and transfers etc, then the second stroke pulling gas from that upper area transfer ramps area into the cylinder. Lol I have no clue, just imagining and hypothesizing but it is fun to think about. Makes sense this engine is a great performing since that old saying "no replacement for displacement" I bet they will continue to make these top end kits a hair bigger, a hair bigger, every couple of years to squeeze out every penny, rather than making a big jump up to a 100cc and missing out on all the purchases in between.
Instantaneous torque from the rip with high speeds and silent operation for not pissing neighbors and people off, is goofy? I love engines as much as the next guy, i have a 2jz in my car and have always loved automotive but electric sccoters, boards, unicycles, and bikes these days are absolutely ridiculous for no reason lmao
@@southtexasspecials175 i've seen custom electric builds with powerful motors. Yes they make tons of power but they have VERY limited range, the charging process is slow and adding more batteries makes the bike very heavy. If we compare those super expensive electric builds to these cheap 2 stroke china dolls its also not fair. A Yamaha YZ250 2 stroke engine makes 50HP and with the gas tank will be much lighter than an electric build of comparable power, plus you will have much higher range and no waiting to charge.
@@dieselgeezer18 I mean if something goes 60mph and it lasts an hour then that's not that limited but then again you have to factor in mah and what type batteries you use
Been wanting to make my first cafe racer moto-bike to piss off the Snooty E-Bikers downtown, and I think this may be it! Looking forward to your follow-up video. Hope to see any proper mods that you suggest, as I'm gonna have to take it to a shop, and I need to make a list of things to be done. I really like your presentation style. Thank you!
Wait till you see my hybrid bike. Gas rear wheel, front E-hub. While you run out of gas I'm still running on electric. When your at a stop I'm leaving you in the dust with electric launch assist because instant torque. Pissing off everyone at night? Turn off the engine and cruise stealth style. Best of both worlds, twice the fun.
I think the box top you found in your kit is for the piston. Witch is good news because those are cheap and easy to find. I have been looking back and forth at ms460s and although the cylinder design is similar, there are some major casting differences made to this one in order for it to be a direct bolt on cylinder. Thanks for the video!
I see a lot of gains to be made with this setup. How they added more meat to the cylinder so you can widen the transfers is a big big plus as well as the intake port angled down. There are a few more pluses I see about this newer style engine that is awesome for the porting nerds.
Definitely help, all that space could be filled in, but now I'm wondering what about opening the transfers to the jug and matching it to the crank case???
Bullet...it's called FILING not filling; the transfer ports as you say look to be partially closed off by the Crankcase.Grinding there to a polish should definitely help..Trev New Zealand 😊🇳🇿
what part of IL you at?? im up northern IL. glad to see you and Kaos are in IL> makes me happy other people round here enjoy the hobby like i do!! love the bikes and the vids!
pretty excited about this motor . about time they come out with a true any thing motor . all this double cc bs . is it a 60 cc or a 80 cc you know what i mean . this is a game changer next will be a true 100 cc . some one is going to have to start making heavy duty frames for these motors soon . i know there is a couple but there both pretty much the same frame . felt faker frames . personally while i do like the built in tank the frame style its self leaves alot of room for improvement not to mention the price . i have not seen a speed test for these yet but im thinking if it is as powerful as claimed bike frames and wheels are going to be under alot of stress . this motor is one to watch for sure . i do hope they break out with a true 100 cc though that would be awesome .
@@theenzoferrari458 well any single celled amoeba brain could figure out what i was talking about to but i understand you fall short in this area . as a American i and all other Americans with half a brain like our sheet to say what it is and be what it says it is . we cant help that the Chinese are a few cc's behind . you pointing out the obvious just proves your intelligence . re read my first comment or have some one explain it for you so you understand it . only a f tard would read what i wrote and not understand what i was talking about . now get back on the porch son adults are talking .
From the pictures on the website, it looks like the top of the connecting rod uses a bushing rather than a needle bearing, I wish we couldve looked at that in this vid. Wow, as soon as I get my hands on one of these Im gonna fill both those huge cavities in where the transfers match on the standard cylinders and make sure my frickin boots are on TIGHT!!
Actually it isn’t the biggest, it is one of them though. CDH power sells one with the same displacement. Look up 110cc cdh motor. Plus CDH Power makes there with a steel sleeve to improve life which is nice. I got it because I like tuning and plan to mod the motor to my liking.
I would agree that jug is definitely a stihl, I’m not sure what the stud spacing is compared to a larger saw like 070,660,090,880 but I’m sure the large jug could be adapted ofcourse dependent on stroke, and case volume. I don’t know much about these bike bottom ends
I have several motors and for some reason the BT clutch plates or disc are all thicker and have crosshatching and vent holes none of the other motors have that
The white wire is supposed to be for lights but it kills power to the engine if you hook anything up to it. It's just normal practice to just cut it off.
Alex!!! I need you bro. Where did you get your helmet with the flip visor from... I looked all over Amazon but didn't see it.. help me out with a link please 🥺🥺🥺
I've got a project i'm starting over the winter for my boys. I want to put my tiller motor on their Stingray but I want to keep the 3 speed transmission suicide style . I have one issue and that's the clutch , I guess you could say it's reversed , engaged when the cable is slack . Anyone out there ever try this and if so how much of an issue was it to reverse ?
I wonder if you could drill some holes through the 40mm piston rods on common 66cc/80cc 2 stroke bike engines to lighten them without making them too weak...Iv'e seen some car/motorcycle piston rods online that are drilled/lightened.....I'm guessing enough weight could be drilled out to make a noticeable power difference without it being too weak. A combination of the rods drilled/lightened and few holes in the piston skirt & maybe piston pin to lighten & increase lubrication I bet would help (not on the Phantom engine but other 2 strokes)
Got the engine, got it on bike, got it started, ran really good, on break in run 2 miles ran smooth, let it cool down, torque the head bolt's, second run 1 mile in lost engine power, not getting spark to the plug, what do I check. I'd Check out all wires & got good connections,
Hey guys who are pretty knowledgeable in this field, any recommendations on a moto kit that comes out of the box with basically everything you need to slap.on a bike and get some decent performance? Like 35 maybe 40.mph? No I will not be going wide open constantly but want the speed at hand when needed. I'm not completely clueless on motorbikes but everything I know I've researched and learned myself there's just an infinite amount of info out there and a lot is misleading or I see mixed opinions and experiences. P.S. I'm mechanically inclined to work on, install, and fix issues. I just want to know if there is an out of the box kit that can give me some decent power and maybe even more with slight upgrades down the road. TIA
Why do you cut off the white wire at the coil? (Just got my first kit bit have lots of motorcycle maintenance experience) to put a larger wire or to eliminate it all together? I was under the impression you can run a light or perhaps rectify the ac and charge a battery.
You could, but the case at the bottom doesn't really line up and the reed valve would prevent any ram air effect but yeah you can do it! Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
they try to keep the size small, because it's used on a bicycle. that's why you have less cooling fins on the cylinder head. what matters is hold it up to the light, and you can then see the actual cylinder, which is way fatter. just by this video I can tell that cylinder looks more like a soda can(😵👍), then compared to a weed eater looking, tiny little, Big Bite hot dog size 49cc,66cc, & similar 2 strokes. I'm curious about the stroke, if it's still a short stroke of the earlier 66cc, with a soda can piston. I can tell you this, it's definitely not a square motor (square motor = any motor where the bore & stroke are identical, or almost identical in size. either way, the motor is going to be a powerhouse. now another interesting question. have they use the same clutch, or is it an upgraded clutch? I guess I'll just have to finish watching the video (@7:50), and find out. 💢🥴💯
I've seen 100cc engines would that be faster and better than this? Or should I go with this my bike is a 32" and I weigh 220lbs what would you recommend me do?
The new version that just came out has better bearing and seems to be a powerhouse. The yd100 is a nice reliable engine that you can get parts for right now.
Hey I have a phantom 85 that I had just bought and I can't decipher if it's a version 2 version 3 my intake cover is black not red I have a bearing on the connecting rod not a bushing. I have just put this together and ready to fire it but am reserved to do so from all the stuff I have read. I need advice and should I use 16:1 for my break in and how long
I have the V3 on my main bike and the yd100 on my spare bike and I thought the yd100 would come close to the phantom 85 but it doesn't! I like the yd100 but it just doesn't even come close to the phantom 85 in power
At that price shipping should be free. I ordered a set of triple trees from them that are junk. Can't even be used. And now everyones engines are blowing bearings on first rides. Then they out over $300 for an experiment.
