I think the second effect is pretty good as well, especially when you consider that you can revive Break sword on your opponent turn with a trap effect, and Its not necessarily going to be hard getting BS in the graveyard, as you can make it then have it float back into two materials.

@@HeartYgo Or you can summon break first, pop it and another card, use the silent boot and the other lvl 4 to make the generic dark link, then search the SS trap with boots to make the link. Send the foolish burial PK if it's not already in the grave with the Link's effect to set for, and then send a trap to resurrect thousand blade when your opponent makes a play. Granted it requires a boots and a PK to go off, and your opponent to control a card, but it's not a terrible combo.

@@ute_yuto4906 this. PK (even without this card) is actually pretty good as the opponent can't really deal with a Dark Requiem turn 2 wooping their ass with a 6-7k dmg. Then you get monster effect negation and some nice traps to cover your ass and there you win
Exactly how i played the deck for 2-3 years and people were like hurt by it. The only problem rn is with the extra linking. the phantom knight link monster atm, for pure pks it's pretty difficult but i wanted a bit more main deck. Ill gladly take the link but just getting one new pk monster was a bit of a letdown.

Well imagine a level 6 Raidraptor fusion Monster that has an effect that can Xyz Summon rank 6 or below Raidraptor Monster using itself as a material and while it is an Xyz Material, it is also treated as an Xyz Monster+ (insert effect). It requires 2 Raidraptor monsters
YAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSS my fav archetype getting a link monster! Both this and breaksword "break" your opponent's board (pun not intended but can be implied) and set up dark requiem for massive damage and/or monster negates. I know the deck will probs never be meta but it don't need to be, Could be a fun rogue strategy if built properly.
They give phantom knight a link 3 monster and then they ban it... Now they have to make a link 2 that allow to summon two phantom knight and make it gain a level or allow to do a rank up without using the spell... Because with this and phantom knight launch banned is impossible to play this deck
Funny enough, I run a Phantom Knights deck, and both Cloven Helm and Fragile Armor have their uses. Mainly as fodder to summon Dark Rebellion XYZ Dragon, who in of itself ends up being fodder for Dark Requiem XYZ Dragon.
The Highwayman Break Sword’s floating effect already does that job while ALSO popping a card, though, and if BS is in grave you can revive it with fog blade/sword/wings to pop a card with this during your opponent’s turn. Can’t do that going directly into Xyz Dragon
I actually like Helmet as a beatstick in case the opponent blocks special summons or my extra deck. It's so easy to get him to like 3000 attack with wings (get one Pk to the grave in your turn for 500 boost activate wings in opponents turn for 1000 boost. Boom Blue eyes killed. And from then on it just gets stronger every turn. So many opponents think they got me locked down and then I just summon my 5k beatstick that I protect with Spear and wings and sword and blade it's not to be underestimated. Armor's special summon effect going off Breaksword (easy rank 3 or Ouroboros) and his draw effect are also great.
After summoning this, xyz into break sword, pop one card your opponent controls, then pop your break sword with its own effect and an opponent's card, special summon 2 level 3 phantom knights, those knights become level 4, xyz into raider's knight, then rank up into arc rebellion xyz dragon, negate all other monsters, attack for big damage, main phase 2, rank up into aa-zeus that has one use
We now need two more rank 3 xyzs for phantom knights because the main deck mons are all clothing based(level 4s being armour) and the extra mons being weqponry based we vould use more mons to xyz into that are phantom knight based.
In retrospect Bardiche's second effect is busted since now you just make Azathoth and get a pop if you feel like it. Obviously the first effect is the best one, but having that additional versatility of comboing with the rank up quickplay makes it just a degree more oppresive
Ok so the meta combo i see is if u get shade brigadine and ancient cloak with armageddon knight, so u can bring out shade with its eff, normal summon armageddon knight use eff to send ancient cloak to grave use ancient cloaks eff to add silent boots to hand to use its hand eff to special summon it, link summon rusty, use eff to send cloven helm from deck to grave to banish it to add silent boots to ur hand at end phase and set one fog blade from deck (bc most combos are killed with one fog blade) u then have rusty on the field next turn summon ancient cloak from hand activate silent to special summon and activate eff of rusty to destroy one card on field, xyz break sword then activate for second destruction, activate breaksword for third destruction and self destruction, use eff of breaksword in grave to special summon its materials as lvl 4, activate eff for 4th destruction, then use lvl 4s for xyz into dark rebellion (cmon who doesnt play that its in the anime) then target their highest atk with dark rebellion’s eff (hope u didnt destroy their highest atk monster) its a pretty devastating combo
Got this thing, Leviair, Gossip Shadow's, 3 Fog blades and a wings on my field turn 1 though what would have otherwise been a pretty mediocre hand, thing is pretty good.
Here's a one (plus one) card combo that ends with Gryphon, another link 4 and Fog Blade: 1. Normal summon Scorpio, effect summon Cobra, effect add Instant Fusion; 2. Link Cherubini, effect send Graff, effect summon Cir from Deck; 3. Link Rusty, Cir summon Cherubini; 4. Effect Rusty, send Cloak, set Brigade; 5. Activate Brigade, Cloak effect to add Boots, special summon Boots; 6. Activate Instant Fusion, summon any level 3 fusion, overlay for Dante, /mill3; 7. Link Isolde, add BLS, send 3 equips, summon Gloves; 8. Link Gryphon (Isolde + Cherubini), link another link 4 (Rusty + Gloves), Boots add Fog Blade; Depending on what you sent with Dante or have in hand you'll have more plays (most probably another Dante/rank 3).
They need to make a link 3 monster for odd-eyes and call it Performapal Odd-eyes Magician (just imagine a guy in a colorful circus suit with odd-eyes doing magic tricks in his artwork lol), link arrows bottom left, down, bottom right, require 2+ dark monsters, maybe a effect to discard to search a oepm, protection of scales, and maybe double the damage? it has to be a downside so maybe low attack lol
I made this custom card cause why not. The Phantom Knights' Reinforcement Army Normal Trap Target 3 "The Phantom Knights" cards that are banished; return 2 to your GY, then add 1 to your hand. If this Set card is is destroyed or banished by an opponent's card effect, and you have a face-up "The Phantom Knights" Xyz Monster on your side of the field: You can Set any number of "The Phantom Knights" Traps directly from your Deck. They can be activated this turn. You can only use each effect of "The Phantom Knights' Reinforcement Army" once per turn.
I like this effect, I think it would be very helpful, because we all know, you cant rly recycle anything that is banished, and the second effect could be a bit tooooo strong but I mean, look at Waking the Dragon soooo....
if you have enough of them you don't worry about recycling [and there's actually little downside to sticking swords and wings into a deck outside of expecting dead draws... but that's something the return of card destruction can help] also you generally shouldn't aim for a late game considering a semi-standard combo into requiem should result in an otk situation majority of the time
Dang, I've tested this. Its effect is so fking great. Ain't no matter that it can't be used to link climb, it can be summoned back from GY with the traps during either player's turn. Also, if anything, it's a LINK ONE! use Arma Knight to sent Malicious, Arma+Malicious link for Weewitch, then link climb Weewitch+Malicious for it.
Pretty hopeful. I can get set 2 Phantom Knight traps, with its own effect and Silent Boot so I can atleast prevent destruction and negate an opponent monster... Even if it dies, I can summon it back from GY with the traps like I said.
I am wondering, how does pure Phantom Knights bring this guy out? Sure, a lucky first turn draw of the trap when you have no traps help, but pure Phantom Knights will have trouble summoning 3 monsters
Ok but no rank 4 phantom knight or a rank 5 since phantom knight launch exist (Ik you “use” dark rebellion xyz dragon as a rank 4 and use that to xyz summon requiem but can a boy just wish for Konami to make a rank 4,5 phantom knight)
While it's not a bad monster, it's still not the most important thing PK needed. They're still lacking on ACTUAL monsters (both Main Deck and XYZ). *sighs* At least it's not another trap.
Play Astral Force, rank up Dante to Pleiades or Requiem to Rage or Alucard to Bram or Rebellion to Chimeira. Seriously Astral Force is crazy good and allows to play basically play anything going from rank 3. Also play Gache Mucha Knight for even more rank 3 plays Also I recommend Supreme King Rebellion Dragon. So easy to summon with Phantom Knights Rank up. D.D.R. and burial from another D to get Phantom Knights back and you have crazy plays. I actually play Phantom Knights pretty much pure and don't rely on BA or anything and I can keep up with lots of strong decks
What I think the deck needs is another good deck that synergies with PK. The three main deck PKs that are used work well enough for a main deck line up. BA might be a good choice, as cherubi can make this just by itself, and you can get maximum value by using scram to link it instead. In total it would be a TGU in hand, 2 fog blades set, and the link all off of 2 level 3's.
Phantom knights get a good link monster and fucking heroes gets decimator like what the hell decimator is shit and doesn’t help the archetype at all, all it does is boost hero monsters on ur field by 100 attack for every hero in grave and in field (I think) and does PIERCING damage.

Bradley Spruill Agreed. Also imo an archetype search spell would've been nice. Let's face it Clasp sword's mediocre and Halberd's too slow. We also no longer have 3 ROTA which was available when they were in their prime. They should make it so you can get86's 5 effects easier as well
So a Link 3 that you say is a "Link 2" in essence...Yeah, unfortunately last I checked you're still gonna have to use 3 monsters or at least a Link 2 Dark Monster + 1 other Dark monster. Cause according to the wiki (And in before someone says the wiki is unreliable, because the Rulebook ISN'T MUCH BETTER ON THIS SUBJECT...) "A Link Monster's Link Rating is equal to the number of Link Arrows it has, and also the number of Link Materials that must be used for its Link Summon. If a Link Monster is used as Link Material, it can either be treated as either a single Link Material or multiple Link Materials equal to its Link Rating." So Rusty Bardiche ISN'T basically a Link 2... Not trying to nitpick or tear holes. But when something just don't add up, it irks me...

Search gloves to drop a trap, use trap to summon material special boots to go into break sword, pop two cards go into requiem, set wings to protect requiem, use wings to revive break sword to pop more cards
it's cuz you can make it with shade brig easy [which you don't really 'summon' as a monster. also honestly, you can go SS Hornets into Hikari, bring back hornets for a second run, drop them again, go into Invoked Mad Alistair and then you only really need one more DARK to make this.
ok there are so many problems with this card 1st phantom knights are an xyz based deck not link 2nd it could have easily have been a rank 3 4 or 5 but I know it's all about links these days but the thing is phantom knights get a random card and on top of that the new trap card is the pointless mist claws most likely phantom knights don't get the support they need like possession or the other rank up spell good job konami you fucked up another archetype from seeing play again # rip phantom knights YUTO
Technically, the archetype is geared towards summoning Dark Rebellion XYZ Dragon and is evolved form, since the character that used Phantom Knights in the ARC-V anime also used that dragon.
