Meh idk I'd argue he isn't #1. Lol 😂 hes arguably the worst L4 if going first so that harms credibility I def think he's top 4, but Firewall, hell arguably Borrelsword at his prime, Bomber Dragon was apart of what 2 Ftks? Knightmare L4 also was basically apart of a FTK. Yeah 3 of these I listed are no debate better than Accesscode Talker and Sword is equally as good even seeing competitive play with Ninja OTK ATM and they arguably still the best Rogue Deck.
@@mrjghostbell3807 I'm tired of seeing comments like this where people pretend and underpower Accesscode to dismiss calls for its ban or errata, but at the same time put it on every single deck profile and guides, and crap on every new Link-4 releases asking the same question of "why use this over Accesscode". Transcode doesn't lock you from summoning non cyberse for the rest of the turn, it lock you for the ENTIRE turn. A big reason why most cyberse strategies play only cyberse is because transcode's free revive for setting up boards or OTKing with update into access is so good that it's worth not being able to summon other types
Was watching my friend play earlier today, and the other guy was running a cyberse pile (Code Talker, @Ignister, Mathmech, the works). He used small world to get to lava golem, tributed away my friend's Dinomorphia board, continued to go through his combo, ended on Transcode and idled for a full minute before surrendering (presumably after realizing his mistake). Gave me a hearty chuckle, since I'm a big Cyberse pile guy myself
So it would be Accesscode Talker, Appolousa, Borrelsword, Borreload, Firewall Dragon, Knightmare Gryphon, Saryuja, Avramax, Gumblar, and any of Unchained Abomination, World Sea Dragon Zealantis, Topologic Bomber Dragon, Topologic Zeroboros, and Tri-Brigade Shuraig.
@@MrChillaxin2010 I feel like Appolousa is kind of overrated. In theory the negates are nice, but in practice she often just gets run over in battle before you can even use her properly. That attack drop downside makes her a liability with link monsters not being able to go into defense position. Sure she can have multiple negates, but unless you actually make her with the full 4 materials, she's getting run over by the majority of regular summons after just using one negate.
@@randumo24 At the same time, it’s generic making it easy to access by any deck able to put out materials. It’s non-OPT monster effect negation which is powerful since monster effects are the most common and prevalent effects in the game. It can protect your board from nibiru. This means u can guarantee ur board isn’t getting wiped after 5 summons, allowing u to safely extend further. And to beat over apollousa as u say, ur most likely either summoning 1 monster and going to into ur battle phase, or ur trying to establish a board around apollousa. In both scenarios, ur most likely not going to be able to OTK which is what u really want in modern.
As long as you have one more omni on the field like Baronne, Appolousa is really strong and can prevent interruptions during your turn. I feel like it's really strong but also balanced enough to not be completely OP but then again, it depends on your opponents deck
@@randumo24 the thing with Apo isn’t that it’s back breaking by itself. It’s strong because it’s always Apo and whatever else you’ve amassed turn one. In Mathmech it was never just apo, it was apo, Plus Superfactorial and handtraps.
Having made the mistake of focusing on a Rainbow Dragon turbo deck in Master Duel, Knightmare Phoenix and Unicorn are life savers, since they give me access to extra destruction/bounces that I normally only get from Rainbow Bridge of the Heart and Crystal Conclave.
I don't know about that being a mistake, sure it isn't the best deck but It can be built into a fairly viable rogue option and honestly it's just a lot of fun to get Overdrive out. But yeah unicorn and phoenix are lifesavers in a pinch for sure
@@rizon98 It's also a lot of fun to watch compared to other decks... Most of the time you just sit there and wait for your opponent to their long-ass turn, while with Crystal Beast you watch and wonder what will happen next considering it can brick so hard to not do anything or cooking full combo😂
@@gabrielevalentini4438 Thankfully I'm still pretty new - I only just hit Silver today lol - but against this level it rarely _hard_ bricks itself. I almost always can at least get two materials on the field thanks to Pegasus -> Zenith -> RB letting me special summon from the deck. Most duels I even pull into Bond (or something that can go into it). Side note: the CB Pendulums (Crystal Keeper and Crystal Master) are actually pretty pog as even just something you can draw into, due to Master allowing you to tribute it to search Rainbow Dragon, a CB, or Crystal spell/trap as well as giving target protection to all of them when in a pendulum zone, and Keeper being a handtrap that doubles a CB's attack and gives destruction protection in the pendulum zone
Notably, Zealantis’ existence means that summon sorc is essentially a generic summon from deck, as zealantis will bring back the summoned monster without negating it
As a qli player, the moment when my opponent summons unicorn after i release my towers is too damn high, as if konami itself mocked my boss monster for what it had done in the past (not to mention being outdated) 😢

@@kauanjos3199 Isn't Qli played relatively pure? @Ignister plays a lot of Cyberse goodstuff: instead of wasting six monsters with different attributes for a Kaiju they only invest three or four while also putting up other Cyberse boss monsters.

Knightmare Unicorn were even used in Infernity decks in Duel Links to make a very consistent hand destruction Trishula loop. This was accomplished by returning Trish to the Extra deck with Unicorn and Firewall dragon to banish 3 cards form your opponent's hand. Really busted, I love it!
I'm surprised that "Black Luster Soldier - Soldier of Chaos" didn't make to this list. The materials are all generic and it gains protection when one of the materials is a level 7 or above monster.
it needs 3 materials to summon. notice that almost all broken cards on this list can be summoned using only 2 materials provided you use link 2 as materials.

The unbelievable power level spike between number two and number one on this list. I honestly believe Aurora Don could probably come back as long as Halq is banned. In no universe could summon sorceress ever come back.
Just guessing right now that Summon Sorceress will take #1... Of course she was. Makes one wonder if Konami ever introduces another Extra Deck monster type will they start out lousy like Fusions and Xyzs were, or "what were they smoking" broken like early Synchros and Links.
If they do. It has to be broken or no one will play them. Remember 2012 banlist everyone makes fun of. Instead of Konami banning the busted cards of said format. Instead the banned and limited multiple tuners and killed multiple Synchro decks, because Konami was so salty no one was playing their new XYZ mechanic so they nerfed Synchro decks hard and started making unplayable synchros. Fusion. In GX Konami was so salty no one was playing Fusion with Polymerization. They made additional restrictions such as Fusion clause and fusion material clause to force you to fusion. Except nobody liked that and no one played them. Took until Shaddolls to make a meta fusion deck. (Gladiator Beast with contact fusion doesn't count)

Already done, this Christmas the ocg did it and it turns out tear is the greatest deck ever made, it just threw in 3 IF, 3 Painful, 3 graceful and a few new ED monsters
Any word on “MAXIMUM” monsters from Rush Duels becoming a thing in the TCG/OCG at any point? It would be fun with monsters that are made up of multiple parts like Exodia and Gate Guardian, and the mechanic would pour a lot of power into the main deck while things as they are now can easily be dominated by extra deck plays.
Realistically, they would be absolutely ass in master rules. The current tcg/ocg is a format where putting a lot of resources into one big monster is not good, especially if it’s main deck(uses space and searches)
@@6dm978 That just means any prospect Maximum Monsters need effects that can compensate for that, either by themselves or in MAXIMUM MODE. Besides if you have 3 or more monsters treating themselves as a single monster, one could remake anime accurate boss monsters that you’d never be able to have their effects on a single card anyway (Take Ra for example, you could make a maximum monster version of it where it’s effects are divided amongst its wings and Main body, so you’d have enough text space to incorporate most of its anime effects.)

@@6dm978 1, a situation like that has pretty much _always_ been a thing so there’s no point in using that alone as a deterrent (otherwise NO boss monsters would see play these days, and yet a fair few do still), and 2, the beautiful thing about Maximum monster components is that they by themselves can be their own support or support for their archetype the same as any main deck monster. There are plenty of ways Konami can adjust Maximum Monsters between the transition through games to make sure they’re competitive in at least SOME regard always.
The mechanic is "Xyz", NOT "XYZ", also another way you can abuse Summon Sorceress that I've jus seen, is you can bring out a Normal monster, completely rendering the Effect Negation moot, hell, bung a Dragon on your opponent's side and, what can you get out? It has blue eyes, white scales? The Blue-Eyes White Dragon!! And I am not sorry for quoting Seto Kaiba! Eric Stuart's portrayal is jus too damned good!

Maybe it’s because I originally stopped playing right before XYZ monsters came out, but I never liked Link monsters. I don’t know why, but I hate using them or playing against them. Hearing about some of these designs, I can’t help but wonder how Konami thought it was a good idea. Hell, Salvaged Vanadis Armory was banned within a week of release in Android:Netrunner…
i feel like you miss out some minor details that could change a few things. for one transcode talker locks out of non-cyberse for the entire turn, not rest of the turn. and if you are demonstrating the otk potential of equimax using other cards like kaijus, wouldnt mentioning maximus that is an in architype card that doubles battle damage also be kind of a big deal to exclude?
I like Folgo of the Fur Hire archtype. Its ability to summon any Fur Hire from the Deck plus insane draw power is great. But not great enough to make it top ten.

Because that's not really how it ever saw successful play, unfortunately. Selene, for instance, did appear in some successful, top cut Endymion/Pend Magician decks since it came out but ain't no one playing simorghs in the link era, lol.
The top 3 are pretty obvious to everyone which shows how broken they. You could also argue most of these people can call out. Link-3s are pretty crazy.
Summon Sorceress could be less broken if they restricted her summoning conditions to have to include 2 Spellcasters and make it so that she can only summon spellcasters or if the monsters she summons just get banished when they leave the field
Are you asking if Equimax would gain DM's attack if it points to it while Eternal Soul is face up? If so yes, as it's not affecting the card, it's the same reason you can copy Independent Nightingale's effect with Starving Venom
