This was one of the illest remixes I had ever heard. There are still dudes around this creative, but they give up when it's not appreciated. Are there no rich folks with power and influence that genuinely like underground hip-hop enough to bring some of it to the masses?
It's kind of ironic.. When i was digging(i still do!)But When i was really digging these guys, they actually were in Amsterdam.. The city i live in now, i wish, i wish.. maybe they 'passed by' my current home..
One of my favorite all time groups. This version is amazing and one of their best. Wish they didnt dissolve. To appreciate their versatility, try singing this chorus like they do, it aint easy!!! So dope.
Usually I tend to like the "original versions" of a song (meaning the one I heard initially) over any remixes I hear thereafter but dayum this one makes that go right out the window - well done Pharcyde all the way!!!
PEACE
yes it a great song sorry to see that the group ain't together anymore just booty brown & imani as the pharcyde and J-swift LA Jay and slim kid tre with Fatlip as Bizzare Ride 2 Pharcyde Fatlip drug use and personal issues let the other 3 make the decision to break up the group Plain Rap was imani booty brown slim kid tre last album recorded & all the sudden the tables turn Tre left the group without telling the imani and booty brown that he has a solo album deal and went on to make albums with the person who he asked to be kick out the group Fatlip Slim kid kid to me just got trying of he imani bitching & complaining booty brown is laid back slim kid is versatile artist he likes to rap and sing Fatlip is a lyrical emcee, battle rapper, freestyles individual imani is a loud mouth outspoken sometimes seem to be arrogant but very debatable person which make him seem to be the bad guy. But like he said it wasn't me that ask for lip to leave it was tre that said he could no longer work with Fatlip because of creative differences. No matter who started it first to many personal issues and album budgets problems with delicious vinyl records made tre leave the label made Fatlip stayed with label and force booty brown and imani to stay as the pharcyde if you get a chance watch uncle imani pharcyde interview on RU-vid explained & breaking down the group biography & personal issues.
When I was 12 and this came out, she said was my favourite song. Now 13 years later I browsing on youtube and I find this remix shot in my hometown with a great beat. Made my day.
Supported The Pharcyde here in the UK with my band Bare Knuckle Soul...it was only Imani and Booty though but when I got them to sign my Labcabin 12" both their autographs were like little pieces of graffiti- they must both write! And I know they dance- pure Hip-Hop thoro heads! And this is song is just...damn! Reminds of the feel of the Crooklyn Dodgers track with Masta Ace. BTW does anyone know who the stunning model is in this video?
Suddenly I feel so pathetic sitting in front of my computer stoned out of my mind, just got off youporn, reading top comments on pharcyde videos with.....NO GIRL. Thanks dude xD

I wish Pharcyde ended up like A Tribe Called Quest, like after words like after all of this you know like all of them are still successful and have money and maintaining a good stable life,Idk what happen to make them break up selfish desires, money, drugs. -But at the end of the day The Pharcyde are and will be one of the Greatest Hip Hop groups of all time, and I was the best of luck to all of them.
Maybe you should digg deeper, sure itll never be 94 again(ha)...But really this year alone there has been enough dope releases from Brother Ali, Talib Kweli, Cunninlyguists, J Dilla, Madlib, Percee P, Common, Moka Only, Blockhead, Sixtoo, & many many more...Just look out there discover..the early to mid 90s is gone..but I know its only gonna get better trust me..Now artists have there own labels, or can be on ones with 100% creative control...
Cunninlynguists, Masta Ace, Pacewon, Young Zee, Mr. Green, CYNE, Fashawn, Blue Scholars, Snowgoons, Virtuoso, Sean Strange, Del the Funkee Homosapien, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Royce da 5'9, Reks, Chino XL, La Coka Nostra, Madchild, Smif-n-Wessum, Heltah Skeltah, Cypress Hill, Public Enemy, Binary Star, Sandpeople. and many more :p
they spoke with Pharcyde to tell how-their lyrics+rhymes are written in-an excellent BOOOK, its also-got other top hiphop guys like Tribe-Called-Quest, Public Enemy, Souls of Mis, etc. telling how they write, amazin-read...boook-iz- H-0-W ..T0 ..R-A-P H-0-W ..T0 ..R-A-P H-0-W ..T0 ..R-A-P H-0-W ..T0 ..R-A-P
you know, im a guy who likes classical and baroque music b/c the music is not repetitive. but with this remix, even though the piano is really repetitive, i still enjoy it. and when it loops it just sounds perfect with the drum and shaker. incorporating tre's singing(real not fake auto-tuned!!!!!), it just makes this song a classic.
I heard Busta Rhymes say something about Dilla like: "he captures the energy of a song" or somethin like that. I've noticed that if i like the artist he's workin with, then i like the beat. If i think the artist sucks, i can't stand his production. Why? cuz it fits so nicely... (Love Pharcyde by the way)
Good music will always hit you in that sweet spot. There aren't too many dudes hitting that perfect frequency for me right now. Mos Def dropped a new album today, that's about all that I'm feeling these days, I mean all the videos and you tube and I'm rocking this one right?
u should try bitterzoet, paradiso, melkweg to name a few nice hiphop oriented clubs. recordstores are fukd when it comes to vinyl records there aren't much stores anymore, they had a fat beats but it's closed now. for the better vinyl stores u should come to Rotterdam
dadada...I guess everybody needs somebody to luv....you can´t keep luv lonely...where the good hiphop and especially r´n´b at...I miss the yo! mtv times etc...and i feel this song so much..haha...used to get blazed....althhough that thing´s over...haha...how time goes by,music does so too,I guess
this song is just way to fucking GOOD! i like the other version too, but this is my fav right now. hell yeah pharcyde. nothin in the world quite like em. and yeah, Fatlip is WAY underratted. I NEED HIM TO KEEP RAPPING.. hopefully with me.
Dude. he has a solo career now and has cleaned up. l think the clown thing was a joke (i hope), but i pretty sure he still lives with his mom. he not rappin on the street but he needs to be supported booty and imani were dissin him last time i checked
man, I've been to Amsterdam 4 times now, and every time I go, I listen to this when I touch down, even now when i'm sat at home and I put this on... it just brings back great memories from the time I've spent in that beautiful city... :)
Pharcyde guys gave interviews in that new hip-hop book - '''How.,:To:,. Rap''' that book is ggreeat cause they spoke with pretty much all the real, classic legendary MCs for it ... if u go on Amazon.. its there...
they got Pharcyde to tell exactly how they came up with such dope lyrics and rhymes, its in a book they are interveiwed in with the rest of the dopest hiphop groups, book is-- "HOW '' TO '' RAP"
The FUNK,The FUNK nod your head, nod your head. Check that real Hip Hop Boom Bat,not this chessy commercial sound that people seem to think is so hip. They don;t know beats or real FUNK at all.
So glad to hear these guys squashed the beef. Hip hop misses their creativity. Lets pray they give us another album as a group. Its a shame they were so under rated but then again true talent always is.
Nothin beats listening to this song actually BEING in Amsterdam smokin on some of the finest bud looking out my room window over the city. Like I was 3 days ago. im so sad to be home, wanna go back!!
