Agree, Maxey had improved significantly every year. Until he proves otherwise he likely will do it again. Age, talent, hardwork, attitude, and smarts are his intangibles. For that matter, Joel Embiid (minus injuries) has improved every year too
Yes but Embiid is also a year older and with how injury prone he’s always been his entire career who knows how much longer he has. If the sixers don’t make a deep playoff run this year then I hope they trade Embiid and find pieces that match better with Maxey’s timeline
We still need more size on the wing, the roster isn’t complete yet. But for the first time in Embiid’s career, we don’t have a Ben or Tobias variant on the team
I think this is the best roster in the league. Other than the Celtics honestly but these two teams are set up for greatness right now, but hopefully the sixers close the deal
Mar Dan? Anyway, before Joel went down the sixers were perhaps the best team in the NBA. Had they been able to acquire Andre at the deadline they likely would have finished as a 2nd seed and would have had Joel and Andre for the playoffs. Funny how things work out. Not hearing much about the loss of Tobias (certainly addition by subtraction).
We still need an above average pt- or 2 guard to spell Maxey and try to keep health maintenance on his body. No need to over use him and hopefully he'll start getting legitimate calls.
Thing is Paul George getting up in age he hasn't proven that he can stay healthy at this age yet so assuming he goes down during the season it will ruin the dynamic you may have built with the team. Also he hasn't proven that he can be the man in the playoffs either he doesn't need to be the man with Philadelphia but this doesn't change much in my opinion Boston is still better and if the Bucks can sort their stuff out I think they're better too
The thing about the sixers is no other team has 3 players that have the ability to get buckets at any given time as well as shoot the ball as well as the 3 of them do. All very versatile scorers can get it done in the paint, from downtown, and in the mid range can’t leave embiid 1 on 1 he’ll make you pay. Double anyone him tho and there goes Maxey or pg will a clean open shot. Also frees up a ton of space for oubre to get to the bucket and jam down easy dunks/ lobs.
@@the-w-omen9179I disagree. Harden is a very ball dominant player which didn’t fit Embiid well. It forced him into being a pick and roll big and that’s not where he thrives. He’s much better in the post in a 1 on 1 with players to dish it out to when he gets doubled. His passing has improved since Nick Nurse became HC and has been making the right pass where before, he’d turn the ball over. I did like Maxey playing off Harden but he’s developed as a point guard since Harden left and even learned a lot from him, helping him get his first all star appearance. PG had the best catch and shoot percentage in the league last season. He’s a huge upgrade from Harden off the ball and a much better defender. The dynamic of this trio is different, not to mention the upgrade in role players. Their versatility will match Nick Nurses free flowing offense much better than the Harden and Embiid pick and roll offense.

We have a role player in Caleb Martin who can shoot the ball well, has a ton of playoff experience, and has shown he can step up when it matters most, a wing that can score and defend pretty well in Paul George- harden couldn’t defend. Another wing that can defend as well as attack the paint - Oubre.- thybulle was of course a better defender but couldn’t score as well as Oubre. A second year player in Ricky council that’s a dog and can score, Drummond is an upgrade from Paul reed simply because of the rebounding and his size. Paul reed wasn’t a good option at back up center because he’s better suited as a power forward. Not having Tobias anymore is an upgrade in its self. Everyone fits well because we have a ton of shooting but also have guys that can attack the paint with ease/ lob threats along with defenders - oubre, embiid,PG, Kj Martin, The rookie we just drafted from ucla. A ton of veteran players with deep playoff experience that we either kept or signed - Kyle Lowry, Eric Gordon, Caleb Martin, Pg nearly made it to the finals in 2021 everyone’s playing styles balance out one another and the big 3 of Maxey embiid and Pg allow for guys like Oubre to get easy shot opportunities

The Sixers tried to execute the Process without a GM. So far, Morey proves to be more of a GM than anything we've had since Hinkie. And yes, Hinkie was a real GM.

@jasonglover2089 Clearly, you don't know the game or understand it saying there are only 3 good pf. Laurie Markkanen, Sabonis, Siakam, chet Holgren, Paolo Blanchero, Aaron Gordon, Kuminga, Draymond, Jaren Jackson, Mobley, Tatum, & even AD & Porzingis were pf there entire career and the are playing center. No team has won the championship without a quality pf in over 20yrs.
@@2048gene thank you you just proved my point sabonis is playing center now so is Anthony Davis and porzingis 5 years ago all these guys are playing the 3 and besides Tatum who is a superstar which one of them brings a skill set that is hard to guard for the Sixers

That's what everyone is thinking outside of philly fans😂. And for good reason cause embiid and PG don't have good playoffs track record. Even healthy they're liabilities cause of shrinking in big moments. I still have okc, mavs, wolves, nuggets in the west. Celtics and knicks in the east.

@@HimmReaper An early midseason record is absolutely meaningless. Embiid is hurt every single season and even when he's healthy this year if all goes well at most you guys will be better than the bucks and no higher than that respectfully.
