The Philippines has taught us a really important lesson during Holy Week that we needed to have. The Philippines at times can be so different especially to us who have never experienced an Asian country before, and some customs and traditions just really aren’t the same! Now whilst it can be tricky to navigate holidays in a new country - instead of thinking about our needs and what we should expect from a new place, we learnt to embrace what we have and make do with things not being the same. A lot of expats never talk about how to navigate normality when you don’t have a normal anymore - but we really want to delve into this more in the next few weeks.
