In todays world, we have many different options for escapism and entertainment. Compared to movies, tv shows, and reading books, comics are arguably the least engaged with in comparison. Despite this, comics can provide unique benefits when compared to these other mediums.
For one, comics are pretty balanced on the imagination/immersion spectrum. All forms of escapism vary in terms of these two concepts. Books, for example, require much more imagination but is less immersive than film or video games. Comics have immersive elements through images but require imagination to fill in the gaps beyond that.
Furthermore, comics are accessible in terms of doing it yourself. Like reading/writing, comics allow you to not only be a consumer but a creator. For film and video games the obstacles to personal creation are there, but comics can be done simply with a pen and paper. By creating comics this can influence your consumption of comics and vice versa, making it one of the more personally involved mediums.

I love your positive outlook on life and just creating in general! I'd recommend anyone All-Star Superman, it's one comic book that's so removed from its peers that if it wouldn't have had "Superman" in the title, you would've never guessed it was a superhero comic. And yes, V for Vendetta is a masterpiece in ambiguity and a much better story than the movie adaptation

I’m boring: the Star Wars The High Republic comics are pretty much the only ones I’ve been reading of late. But I’ve always loved the iterative nature of how SW grapples (sometimes mythologically, sometimes quite overtly) with the intersections of spirituality, religion, ethics, politics, etc. via the Jedi characters. I find this philosophical richness to be particularly well expressed in dynamic and complex ways in the books and comics.

In terms of star wars comics I'd be interested in the Timothy Zahn heir to the empire stuff
