That is a very nice looking awl! Very sharp looks like it goes through leather and fingers easily!

The awl is doing a good job for you but you might think about a Tymbol for your finger my grandmother ware 1 when she did hand quilting.

What I unfortunately learned the hard way, was to buy a spare blade with the awl, I accidently broke mine after months of use and had to pay an ungodly amount of shipping for a new blade.
