@@MarvyG23 I'll take your "A" and raise you an A+ I believe we're going to grab someone else as well that's the word all over Kahn wants to grab a big time player idk how he worded it though
The Pittsburgh steelers are taking a Philadelphia Eagle approach to the OL and I love it. They signed James Daniels and Isaac Seumalo who have been great OGs for Pittsburgh these past years. They then draft their stud OT Broderick Jones in the first round of last years draft who had a great rookie year then in this year's draft they draft their next star OT Troy Fautanu and their new franchise starting C Zach Frazier to pick up the mantel after Pouncey. Hell, they even in the fourth round draft OG Mason McCormick who will be a backup this year, but when James Daniels becomes a FA next year instead of paying Daniels more money they will turn to Mason to be their new starter and the OL will remain as dominant as ever. The draft pick of Payton Wilson also completes their ILB core as all I heard people say when Pittsburgh signed Patrick Queen was "He sucks at pass protection" Well they just drafted the LB that had the highest grade in pass protection and getting to the QB in this whole draft. Yes the injury history concerns me too, but he's been healthy the past 2 seasons in college while playing at an elite level and although he doesn't have an ACL in one of his legs, neither did Steeler's legend Hines Ward. He ultimately completes the steelers LB room and secures protection over the middle of the field during passing plays. Oh they also drafted another star WR in the later rounds like they always do in Roman Wilson who will form an elite pair with George Pickens thanks to his speed-route running-separation. Pittsburgh is ready to start competing for the top of the AFC North.
My only concern is outside of JPJ, their corner depth is a little worrisome. Donte is mid and Cory Trice is unproven. Outside this, their defense looks scary.
@@imjoeylin true, but they did clear up $7million dollars in restructuring Highsmith’s contract for 2024. Plus there are constant rumors that they are close to signing a playmakers. That obviously doesn’t mean they’re gonna sign a CB, but there are still good CBs available in FA and they don’t need a #1 CB thanks to JPJ, they just need a serviceable guy to handle the outside since I think Donte is more suited to place slot/nickel CB given his height and speed
Right: they addressed o-line last season. Heavily. & now, one year later having not traded any of those picks or anyone from before they drafted 60% of the line. Again. So... what? They're good at drafting busts on the line? Or maybe this o-line that got that QB room to the playoffs didn't need that much of an upgrade? When their QBs can't complete passes to receivers like Van Jefferson or Quez Watkins will fans enjoy watching the .8 seconds longer their QBs get before being sacked with joyfulness & delight? Something really off here with these narratives.
@@henrywallacesghost5883 Lol for sure, it could all go sideways like it has the last few years. But right now I'm in hype mode, and will be until middle of the 2nd quarter week 1 😂😂
How? They have two throwaways at QB and lost their second best receiver. I'm a big Tomlin fan but he can only do so much with what he has which is a 11-6 team at best or a team that misses the playoffs. This is not a great team.
@@henrywallacesghost5883 they had a great draft, got rid of Pickett, and signed an all pro free agent in Patrick Queen. Sounds like a pretty good off season to me!
@@henrywallacesghost5883 @henrywallacesghost5883 they have had a great off season. Filled in the biggest hole on defense for years by getting patrick queen and drafted wilson. Addressed the biggest whole on offense which is oline. This teams doesn't have a ton of wholes anymore and Russell wilson is a huge upgrade over Kenny Pickett.
Haven't been this excited about the Steelers in the offseason in ages, not sure how everything will work out, but Omar Khan is putting forth the effort, & that's all I ask for. Two big question marks at QB, but they're cheap & are on prove it contracts. Either way, the Stillerz are going back to the Steeler Way, shedding the "me" players that have ruined them for the last several years
@@brianbadonde9251 those are slim to 0 odds old man River but anyway we're not done drafting you have no idea what our is capable of and that's just right now still making moves you sound scared old man as well as you robert you're just talking crap and calling out some crazy a$$ ideas being benched lmao you act like he's this old man with THE HUGE IF 😂 amusing
Omar Khan is trying to upgrade this roster that our old GM Kevin Colbert couldn’t do. I think as long as Arthur Smith can utilize this offense and we stay healthy. We could finally see them win a playoff game for the first time since the 2016 season.
After having a below average average offensive line and Pickett getting hurt.... The Steelers did the smart thing and prioritized the offensive line. So what did my Jags do? Priotize the D Line even though we just signed Armstead and have no O-Line depth.
Steelers for the 2nd year in a row hit a home run with the Khan Artist at the helm. They simply drafted guys who were made to be Steelers. I am optimistic for Author Smith though not sold. I keep telling myself " He was a #1 seed with Tennessee and made Tannehill a pro bowler. So....who knows 🤷
@@nickward3878you are going to be eating your words. we will take the North this season. the best division in the NFL. we were 5-1 last season and this year we will win more non division games absolutely no doubt. you must be a brownie fan for sure.
I’m dumb. I’m thinking wingspan not arm length (individual arm) and thinking. 39” is a good wingspan?? I’m 5’10” and have almost a 72” wingspan I’m almost NFL material. They drafting Deadpool? 😂😂.
14:00 Remember when the broadcast crew during the week 4 beat down the Texans put on Pittsburgh said that in an interview they had with Canada he said that the Steelers offense wasn't quite built to come back from big leads 😂
Keep in mind that we technically have 6 offensive linemen on the field to block for the smash mouth scheme... TE Washington and additionally ,Roman Wilson's philosophy is " no block, no rock"
The Steelers are truly a genius organization. With this draft they’re set to acquire Caleb Williams from the Bears in 2028 and obtain their QB of the future. They’re playing 4D chess while everyone is playing checkers.
I'm sorry what.? "5-1 in their division next year." Bahahahaha. Poor diluted Steeler fans are in for a huge disappointment. They drafted some decent linemen, but don't go overboard.
The Broncos fan base has to be wondering if the Broncos knew what they were doing when they released Russ all because he wouldn’t defer his injury guarantee. The guy rarely gets injured, and when he has, he has played injured. They just GAVE Russ away like he was nothing. That was stupid, especially when they still have to pay the guy. Watch Pittsburgh make a deep run.
I hope this draft isn't like the others but almost every year the Steelers had the BEST draft ever and then three years later........nothing. Most of those players are either on another team or out of the league like Artie Burns, Jarvis Jones, Mason Rudolph, Dionte Johnson and so on and so forth... It's getting old but I'm praying this year is different. This trend has to change.
Theory: The Steelers build through the draft; free agency isn’t their thing. 2024: Steelers use free agency. When did we get so stupid that we thought that would be *instead of* the draft rather than as well as?
Did it again? You mean they drafted a bunch of players who look good on paper but will not pan out a couple years from now? I mean they think they do great every year but in reality a majority of those players are not even in the NFL anymore.
LOL I love the people sleeping on the Steelers still! Games are w o n and lost in the trenches! If you can control the line of scrimmage you only need average play out of your quarterback! Keep that defense fresh and this team makes noise in the playoffs❤ one of the most talented teams in the league if they could put it all together😊
Steelers are gonna run a lot of 2 te sets Washington is a beast blocker and Russ is a very good play action qb cordarelle Patterson will be the 3rd down back
Just being honest probably not until the team previews in July. I will highlight their moves / draft picks in upcoming videos. Just because the draft is over doesn’t mean content stops
The Steelers are absolutely crushing this off-season. I expect Fields to start over Wilson, I think the locker room will realize field is more talented and Wilson is a egotistical maniac. The Steelers should be better much better than they were last year, but I still see them going, 10-7 or 11-6 at Best, their schedule is absolutely brutal. But they should match up well with whoever they draw in the wildcard.
The ravens are taking a step back. Cleveland always takes a step back after a successful season. Cin is interesting but we need to see what happens to burrow health wise.
His point does bring up an interesting conversation about how they’ve handled qb. As a Steelers fan, we waited to long and weren’t agressive enough. My guess is we draft one in the next two years.
I hate the „value“ aspect. You might take a player at 120 that was mocked at 85, but if they suck it‘s still a bad pick. If you reach on a player that was mocked at 120 and take him at 85 then you‘ll get scrutinized but if he‘s a pro bowler then you get praise and no one cares if you reached.
everybody idiotically claiming were gonna have a 9-8 season are either bungholes, ratbirds, or possibly brownie fans because im seeing 13 wins. no doubt. no possible way we finish worse than last season. no possible way.
Idk why people think Russ was terrible last year, he had a good season. The broncos had so many problems outside of him, like he didn’t help all the time but trying to carry that team had to have been a nightmare
Khan has shown nothing but excellence since he came, in both drafts and free agencies. we still have a #2 receiver coming as well. that'll happen really soon. Fautanu and Jones bookends with Frazier between Daniels and Seamalu ! what? our Oline just became top 5 and Najee and Warren are going to feed. McCormick is excellent depth for the guards this season and will be a future starter. this draft fell perfectly to us. cant wait watching our run to #7! here we go!🖤💛
Great video right up until you said 5-1 in division games. Did you forget who else is in that AFC north or are we assuming injuries for one team? I'm genuinely curious how you think they could pull that off this year
The Steelers seem to have Lamar Jackson's number even when he's having an MVP season. Still not sure how good Deshaun Watson will be after yet another long period out of football. I could see Pittsburgh sweeping both teams. Cinnci... good luck lol
