Happy Google I/O Day! So aside from the Pixel Fold announcement that we have all been waiting for, Google also dropped the Pixel 7a and honestly, I’m NOT impressed with its $499 price tag. Does the Pixel 7a make the Pixel 7 a better value considering how often I see it go on sale? Side note…digging the Coral Red Color ❤️ What do you guys think?

Yes, google has it all wrong. the Pixel A phones need to be released at the same time as their flagship phones but at a lower price, just like everyone else does.

@@mikepanton It's marketing technique. Make people buy the phone for fear of missing out essentially upselling them based on availability. Release the budget options last to get the last stragglers of customers who are more frugal. If you had both options in front of you right away and both are good, far more would just buy the cheaper version.

Yes, the 6a is perfect at around 300$, but 7a for 500$? I got me a second hand S21 Ultra, as a replacement for my former Pixel 6 Pro, and trust me, the difference between the screen and stereo sound between the real flagships and their cheaper bros is just too big. Ive used a 6a, 6, Galaxy S22 and compared to my P6P and now S21 Ultra, their screens looked more like expensive IPS screens - THAT´S how much of a difference there is in the panels. And Im the kind of guys who only needs 3 things from a phone - EXCELLENT screen, long battery life and great speakers. I don't game or take photos on phone

I like that Google finally put a proper ultra-wide on a smaller Pixel phone. Also, the 7a is £449 which corresponds accurately with the US price of $499. However, the entry Pixel tablet is £599!!!!

I don't agree with the last point, Samsung's A series isn't comparable to Pixel's A series. No matter how much samsung tries, their A series phones are always choppy. I am pretty sure Pixel 7A's experience is more close to a flagship than A54.

Samsung security is trash compared to Google's. They got caught faking security updates last year. Also, pixel devices are the only ones right now that support Graphene OS, so yeah, really no comparison

If the A54 screen is anything like S22, then toss it to the curb. More like an expensive IPS panel, than a real OLED, compared to my P6P and S21 Ultra. They have rich colors and just pleasure to watch youtube on. A54 is a toy, so are all of them cheap ones. The only good with pixel a series is the UI and camera

Even tho pixels suck now it probably would be because of software optimization and the chip in the a54 not being snapdragon especially for the price also affects performance. Even with bloatware the s23 ultra is very snappy for having extra apps.

As usual Google bamboozling people with sub par chips with grandiose sounding names rip off prices. They only have a few good things like computational photography, background noise cancelling and speech to text. The rest of it is substandard. 20W charging in 2023, come on Google raise your game.

I've had the 7, then got the 7a. Re display brightness there's no major difference, even in auto peak brightness. In manual brightness mode the 7a is brighter than the 7, the 7a display seems crisper too

Maybe if it had a better battery and faster loading. Display resolution is also not top tier. IMO it's just priced right where it's now. Comparing to Apple makes no sense, they're always overpriced.

Galaxy A54 didn't even compete with Pixel 6a apart from its 120Hz panel and one extra update. Idk why youtubers forget that *Pixel 7a too will go on sale.* The discounted S21Fe is actually the real competitor of Pixel 7a/6a. *Samsung made a huge mistake by discontinuing their FE line-up as their A-series isn't competitive enough.* Cheers 🥂

First of all, the Google pixel 7 is way better than Samsung's Galaxy mid-range phone. The Google pixel 7 is a flagship phone and it is flagship very the consumer market man. If someone educated badly they causes prices. That means they're happy with a $1,300 phone that has 64 GB and in their opinion because they paid $1,300 then it's a better phone. But if my battery lasted longer and I have more gigabytes $128 GB in my internet's faster than your phone, then somebody is very uneducated

Why do people keep mentioning 60hz "right out of the box" like it's such a big deal? A lot people are like flabbergasted that they dare set it at 60 when first turning it on. It takes only a second to turn on 90hz. People aren't dumb that they're not gonna know how. Or maybe they are 🤷‍♂️

You should be fine with 7a or even 6a, so if you can get them for noticeably cheaper than the 7 I would do with one of them. I feel like the 7a is only marginally better than the 6a and only worth it if you need the better 5g modem. The 6a is goodv enough if you only use 4g

I was able to buy an open box like new pixel 7 pro for $600 which has been has been great. The recent father's day sale is what got me interested in pixels again. In my opinion it would be a mistake to cheap out on a phone that would last you half as long for only $100-200 less.

I loved mine when I owned my LG phone! I totally wish Samsung would put the finger print sensor back in the back. But then we loose other features that a lot of people will loose there shit over. I pay around $480CAD over 2 years for it. Upgraded from another phone(OP6T) and I gotta say I have no regrets. 90Hz is refreshing, wireless charging is something I don’t ever use, the camera is waaaaay better than the OP6T and it still outperforms the Samsung A54. Not to mention you’re not tied down to the Samsung ecosystem. Overall I’m pretty satisfied with it. If my carrier had a promo for the Pixel 7 I definitely would have chosen that. But if you don’t do anything but media consumption, browsing, and social media then GET THIS PHONE.

I would like Google to keep the Pixel Xa line to be $350-400. Get rid of features to keep the price down. It's a budget phone, it doesn't need 90hz, wireless charging, or any of the same hardware as the flagship line. There will be some hardware that it may be cheaper to keep the same, but if they can I would like its price reduced.

A54 is not a bargain if you look closely at the exynos 1380 crap used inside ! Pixel 7a is the way to go, maybe not right now because of the launch price but give it couple of months and the price will drop by a hundred bucks, Trust me !

They did the same thing with support when they switched from Nexus to Pixel. They just don't "Guarantee" long term past 2 or 3 years. It's basically a non factor. Oh and my OtterBox case is exactly the same 6a/7a too.

Sounds like you took all of mkbhd’s points from his video and put it into a short. Also if the 7 is now selling for a few hundred dollars off than the 7a will be as well in a month🙄. Just look at the 6a: it was selling for $299 for a couple of months on Amazon from a msrp of $449. At the same $150 discount if the pixel 7a were to go on sale for $349 it would be recommended as the best budget buy

The pixel 7a has a somewhat better camera than the Pixel 7 though, especially if you like shooting raw and especially in low light. No i did not make an error, the Pixel 7 with an 'A' has a better camera.

I had google pixel seven. My experience with it is horrible. It's a buggy software with impotent chipset. Move back to S23 Ultra. Masterpiece in the real sense
