Let's look at the newly announced AskHytale # and what the team are planning as we build up to the release of the newly developed game engine, and all the exciting reveals that will likely follow after that, in new blog posts and gameplay. havent seen it yet and my expectations like the last 20 years "we will optimize the engine" "we will work on bringing the game to the new engine" "we are hard at work and making big improvements cant wait to show you guys more" -Nothing about an alpha or beta test -Nothing about a release date -Literally nothing proof at all that the game is in any better state then 5 years ago

I loved the game and was really hyped for it, but in my opinion they made the wrong choice starting from literal scratch with a new engine. they Mightve as well kept working on the old one and have a dedicatd team for the new engine then Hytale couldve been released like 4 years ago and made better with updates, and then in like 2 years (which would mean 6 years of the original hytale) they could release the new engine or even later with no stress. They definitely made the wrong choice

The only mistake they made was announcing it too early to a bunch of people who think they are entitled to a game releasing as soon as they wanted or expected.

Not really related to Hytale but, if anyone is looking for a new survival blocky game to play before Hytale comes out, I highly recommend Vintage Story. Its some some indie game not many people know about that I just discovered and its a crime how small of a game it is. I got it less than a week ago and have already put 40 hours into my first world. So again, if you're looking for a new blocky survival game to play while you wait for Hytale, play Vintage Story. This comment is not sponsored lol

I tried Vintage Story, and it is very beta-feeling. Unpolished, crude, desolate, lackluster world. The graphics look good. But that isn't why I play games.

Good I hope the new engine is much more optimized tbh I wanted Hytale to come out 2 years ago...but after playing the new MC updates and a few more Surivial games, I'm glad they chose to just rework the engine and just rework the entire game in general, we all wanted minecraft 2..but now we want HYTALE, Minecraft had its time, and its time for something a bit more in depth in the block universe games.

I feel bad for missing thankmas after contributing for the last couple years but work has been kicking my ass and i lost track of time 😅 still got my trork figure and hytale coin. Im excited to get my hands on these creative tools when the game comes out. Customizing my own items and effects to flesh out the aesthetic of my avatar is the main appeal of this game to me.

Still hyped up! A game has never got me feeling this excited in a long time... Especially one that hasn't even released yet! Hytale has genuinely brought back that childlike Christmas morning excitement in me, and I thought I would never feel that again!

Bro this game better have so much content, if I can finish the story in 10 hours I'm going to be disappointed. The singleplayer better be at least 60+ hours now, yeaaarss in the making. I really hope they have something to show for it

I don't think I'd mind the story being a bit short. You can finish Minecraft in less than an hour if you know what you're doing and yet I have a Bedrock world with nearly a full 1000 hours on it and I haven't even beaten the game yet.

oh man, i can only imagine finishing the adventure map, and then playing an adventure made by someone that based upon legend of zelda. and then maybe with the modding cabapilities the next adventure is a shooter based world.

Firstly thanks for bringing true information in here there are a lot of clickbait channels around this subject that never bring anything new. Secondly I think there is a big possibility some reveal will be done at riot's 15 year anniversary which will be in fall this year, don't know about the game being released but I think there is a 50% chance we get some new trailers in the first half of the year and an alpha/beta release in fall. What's your opinion on this?

If Hytale functions as an actual game engine, just like Source, Unity or Unreal, then that would be huge. Whether it all comes in one full package inside of a game or whether it comes alongside the game, either way is good I think, but that would be really amazing if you can actually build games with it.

Riot being in charge of hytale gives me so much faith in hytale releasing to be an amazing game as riot has an issue of not releasing things until perfection which is not a bad thing just means their games take forever.

Well.. They just added Vanguard anti-cheat to League of Legends. I hope the team makes a statement on Vanguard being present in Hytale or not, as I wouldn't touch the game if they end up implementing that 24/7 rootkit. Trusting Riot and Tencent to not get hacked while they have that kernel-level malware running on my computer is not something I want or need to play a video game. I really hope it's not the case. It would rule out so many potential customers who have "potato" PCs

At least nothing we can get our hands on, besides screenshots and devblogs, as usual. Honestly, so disappointed with this game already, and I haven't even played it yet ...if I ever live to see the day.

I've been messing around with logic in games recently, like redstone in Minecraft, and now I'm mildly excited to try to replicate some of the things I made in other games in Hytale, like a clock or calculator

I want to play this but it's kinda ridiculous that the news surrounding this game for the last few years is "I bet there will be news this year... Probably." And "I bet this thing taken out of context is super cool and will fulfill all our dreams." That's not a dig at this RU-vidr, I think he does a good job making engaging content with what little information there is to be had. I just wish I was playing it. I've been following since the first trailer.

My hope is that they have been working on optimization. By creating (and re-creating) the game engine from scratch, they have the opportunity to have the game optimized for multi-core, multi threaded CPU's and also GPU optimization!! Imagine if the Hytale engine could use all the graphic processing power from something like a 4090ti.....It would smash Minecraft out of the ballpark and into the next suburb! At the moment, Minecraft only uses a max of two threads on any CPU and cannot be optimized for GPU's...

They can take as long as they need as long as they focus on making their game easily personalisable for most. This is the key to make these kinds of game long-lasting. If they do it well, their game will be a success no matter what, hype or not. I have faith in their vision, I hope they can create something they will be proud of for years coming.

They really shouldn't at this point ...the game has been in open development since 2015. I personally was so hyped for 5 years, but last couple years I feel like I'm being spoon fed by something that may or may never come out as something I would enjoy or even get to play. For all I know - I might've literally grown out of this game while I was waiting for it, and something I was so hyped about in 2015 may not bring me the same feelings or satisfaction in ...well, whenever it comes out, if at all.

@@PaLaDinDen Just because you are not as interested as before does not mean others will feel the same. It will come out when it needs to, there's no need to rush art. It rarely ends well to do so, and it's no fun for the folks working on it. There's plenty of other good games to enjoy in the meantime. Hype is short lived, a good game is forever.

@@dunkarporkshop2963I would agree with you on that, but I'm afraid the scales have tipped on that one long time ago - there are lots of people who feel the same. It will come out when developers would finally stop being greenhorns in game dev department and finally become compitent at managing their company (although, it is too late for the latter as well, since they sold out to Riot, cuz they had absolutely no idea where to take it after the initial hype overdoze) There are plenty of good games around, also true, but I wanted to play this one and it feels like toxic relationships you broke from, since every now and then this title reminds me of what I could have been playing right now. No need to rush art? Probably, but this is a game. It had all the chances to become masterpiece - now it feels more like it's suffocating in its shell

Dude this game will be huge, a lot of people are hating on it for taking so long but when I look at this game I’m getting the feeling this will be a BG3 situation, where a lot people gain interest and it will skyrocket for being a great game and worth the price to buy it without any micro transactions, paid dlc, or battle passes

I'm quite excited for this game. It's like Minecraft, but with a lot of quality of life features. Then a creative fantasy vibe on top, that honestly feels nostalgic and cozy. I feel like it will be a game I can really get lost in.

Their possible objective is not to plan any alpha or beta, to launch the complete game, but a critical error is that they do not release it for testing to see what the community thinks, where there are errors, what makes it so that no one knows whether the project is good or not.

Exactly. These type of sandbox survival games need to have early access or open beta testing to survive. The community of these types of games needs to be able to give test runs to play in all different kinds of ways that the devs possibly couldn't. People playing it so many different ways is how you find major bugs or things that need balanced.

the most important thing for me is to know if there are microtransactions in the game or if you buy the game and play it without being able to buy anything ingame (as should be the case with all games).

I think the things I want to know about the most are the combat system and whether or not this game is basically going to have its own version of redstone. Mostly because those two things alone can already drive a lot of mods in the future, especially when it comes to things like magic. I've basically given up on both Mojang and Minecraft at this point in terms of development, because it's clear that Hypixel carries more passion and drive for game development in one finger than Mojang does in their entire studio building.

Man I can't wait for this game. I just hope the single player is as enjoyable as Minecraft with not too much going on. Minecraft can be so relaxing sometimes and I think the music has a lot to do with that. Hopefully Hytale has some great music.

Things I hope for with hytale: 1. It's multi-platform, pc, xbox, ps, etc. 2. That building isn't complicated or too easy. 3. Not battle pass or dlc/market place, at least not to the point of completely being observely expensive and limits player creativity and expression. 4. Adventure mode does creative twists with combat and survival compared to minecraft. Possibly requiring food, water, rest to stay healthy and strong. As well as different climate effects like freezing snow storms, or blinding sand storms that could hinder players. 5. Combat is fun, diverse, and expressive weapons throughout the game. Maybe even legendary weapons and armor to find or craft. If Hytale has these five things this game will blow minecraft out of the light of day. Because why play a game where the developers purposely limit players creativity or expression and choose not to develope more and instead focus on less.

The game looks strong, but I worry about how much of a community it will build. I feel like this game will beat Minecraft, but then it flips. We've seen it with other genres in gaming, so maybe that will happen here.

Losing hope it'll ever come out. I've wanted this game since I was 17... I'm a father now. It feels childish to want to play this so badly, knowing it's a block game made for kids. I'm a little heartbroken.

Man this is painful but nice to see, it's so obvious that there are a big handful of amazing and passionate people working on this game, but I remember being ready for this game to release 6 years ago. Minecraft made a comeback, hell we even got lego fortnite (it died pretty quick sadly), we also have games like Valheim now too. I really hope this game does roll towards a release, but every time I see someone talk about this game it just appears as copium with phrases like "hype will never die" being thrown around :( Hopefully they don't just keep finding new tasks and updates to add pre release as. Either way, the target audience this game had has come and gone, so it will be interesting to see what generation of people young and old this game picks up.

lego fortnite only "died" cause epic went on break updates to fortnite and all modes start again on the 23rd so look forward to new things coming soon

More curious if they are consider using the Riot games anti-cheat as riot is rolling it into more of their games recently, it also happens to be a breaking point for a lot of people when it comes to security or accessibility. I think it is unlikely they will but I am curious if they are considering anti-cheat at all.

i hope the devs don't care about out hyping other gaems and just focus on making the game fun. nobody actually cares about hype after the game releases they care about the quality game. hype is just how people pass the time when they wait for the game. it's useless. if the game is good on release, it will do well. they have enough publicity behind them already.

They've admitted that they did announce it too early, or rather that they didn't realize the scope that it would have to be when they released the trailer. The community reaction is what's made it take so long.

What's the deal with Hytale's version of Hypixel? Obviously we've seen Hytale version of Skywars and Survival Games, but will it just be a recreation or just taking the main games with Hytale originals? Also does this mean the Skywars community will be split between Hytale and Hypixel? Also recreating all the gamemodes in Hytales seems possible just with the exception of Skyblock.

something I would like to know, but don’t have X to ask is whether there would be something something similar to the builders wand mod in Minecraft in the best survival version of hightail? For those few people who don’t know, the few people who what I mean the builders wand mod allows you to put one line of blocks down and repeat the same raw instantly if you have the blocks to hand, this makes building a lot faster than placing each block individually. for someone like me who enjoys building, but not the tedium of placing individual blocks it could be extremely useful. It could use mana as well as consuming the blocks it places to balance it out.

Still Hyped for Hytale. This only makes it even more interesting. I love that Hypixel is behind it: they represent the golden age of Minecraft and I hope they can keep that creative community minded paradigm in all they do. Pruning down to the universal basics is great, and I hope maybe they can add it later in updates, expansions and add ons. It the extras have worth, I may even be willing to spend on meaningful extras, (kinda like extra modules in D&D). But please, if you make me pay for skins like another certain block based game, I won't be around for long.
