It will never cease to amaze me. In the span of a few years, John Williams gave us the theme from Superman, Indiana Jones, Jaws, Star Wars. He wrote the soundtrack to my childhood, and this one might be my favorite.
Yeah his eyes rolled up in the back of his head in a zone, and he did the Lost In Space music which was my childhood, amazing how I loved the them but didn't know he made that
Same here, also don't forget Jurassic Park, the man is such a legend and one of the most humble people that has ever existed, he once said in an interview "I got home from dinner and came up with the Hedwig theme, which ended up the main Harry Potter theme, that kind of talent is unmeasurable.
Krypton is one of my favorite bits of composition ever written. The crescendo triggers frisson for me, I get goosebumps and tear up every time. I was just a 7 year old kid when Superman came to theaters so nostalgia plays a big role in it, but it just stirs something in me. Hans Christian Andersen once said “where words fail, music speaks” and Krypton speaks volumes to me
Doesn't it just? Can't you just hear the undying words: "Faster than a speeding bullet! More powerful than a locomotive! Able to leap tall buildings at a single bound! Look -- up in the sky -- it's a bird -- it's a plane -- it's SUPERMAN!!!"
Hell I grew up in the early Jurassic Park times, late ET fan, watched Jaws but after its time, Star wars was my fathers passion, etc but I love all these Iconic pieces, but I still think above all them that "The Planet Kryptom" is the most epic score of any theme of all time, so many emotions when that piece comes on, the most being "epic" even though I know that word has been outplayed.
Also, remembering the words of Jar-El while listening. "You will travel far my little Kal-El. But we will never leave you, even in face of our death. You will make my strength your own........."
Can we please put John Williams in the composer hall of fame? The man created Star Wars (the most recognizable theme anywhere), Superman, Jurassic Park, ET, JAWS (so many people know the Jaws theme without watching the movie), Harry Potter (which he came up with after having dinner), need I say enough? The man is a legend for sure.
Hope you mean Donners Cut of superman 2. If you havent seen it your missing out. It's better in so many ways and makes sense now. That stupid "forget everything" kiss in gone.
@@Wesleech I’m guessing that’s what he meant by donners movies, as it’s Richard Lester who is credited as the director of the original theatrical release (of 2)
This has to be the best "hero theme" piece of music ever written. The basic riff is so simple it almost seems corny, but it's elaborated into something majestic and magnificent.
Hands down THE BEST rendition of “Krypton Fanfare” and “Superman March” next to John Williams original recording. Cincinnati represent represent! I love my city! ❤️
This is a pretty fantastic feat, especially when considering it’s done with one type of horn. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2fnMVpFnSrg.html
But we will never leave you even in the face of our deaths. The richness of our lives shall become yours. All that I have all that I've learned everything I feel, all this and more I bequeath you my son, you will carry me inside you all the days of your life, you'll make my strength your own, see my life through your eyes, as yours will be seen through mine. For the son becomes the father, and the father the son. This is all I can send you, Kal-El.
It's hard to believe this is pretty much French horns layered on top of each other, it sounds so amazing and one of my favorite JW compositions of all time. I wish this video was him doing it but this guy is great too.
"They can be a great people kal El, they wish to be. The only lack the light to show the way. For this reason above all, their capacity for good. I have sent them you. My only son." - Jor El
@@cid76 hear it in my head as I'm getting ready for work, just because I'm not always "bright-eyed and bushy-tailed" in the morning, and I have a very morning-oriented job 9-10 months out of my year, starting mid-August. My alarms are either "Superman" or "Star Wars," usually.
FINALLY.... played the right way with the krypton theme beginng... been looking for this version for years played by an orchestra... THANK YOU, its 1 of my most favorite themes and movies
Planet Krypton in my opinion holds up quite well. I think Composer John Williams can give a lot of competition music-wise to Mozart, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, (especially) Wagner, and Haydn. I believe and this is my humble opinion but I believe that Composer John Williams will come up with new music that will surpass the Superman and the Star Wars themes. But the Krypton theme is very unique, it's Eternal. (The Krypton theme) in my opinion should be played in Middle school and high school bands around the Country. The theme of Krypton is Special. Music has not run its course. New music has been created here in the USA. There is still a new frontier in terms of music. John Williams is a genius. Thank You for reading. June 6, 2022. My high school marching band (in the early '80s) played the Superman theme with the Krypton opening during a football game halftime show. Remembering the sound of the solo trumpet, on the field, playing the Krypton theme on a crisp fall evening with perfect acoustics for outdoors still gives me goosebumps. I played clarinet, so our section had the "going up the scale" sequence (starting at about 0:55 in the video) culminating with the end of the fanfare. Outstanding ...
I agree wholeheartedly. He is a very underrated composer when compared to the past kings of classical and deserves high recognition for his cinematic masterpieces.
No joke. He was my first 'crush' so to say, in that not only was he drop-dead handsome on the outside, I could tell he had a beautiful soul. And that soul made him all the better-looking for it. 😁
They could be great people ka le they wish to be, they only lack the light to the show the way, above all their capacity for good, I have sent you my only son.

It's the same tempo that John Williams himself conducted the piece in the 1980s. Search "John Williams conducts Superman". He has slowed it down quite a bit since.
