Blimey!I was in the Commandos!.....in my dreams mate! I bought a pack of 1/32 Airfix Commandos in a wee hidden toy soldier shop in York England in 2013.Closest i will ever get to be the commander of a Commando unit!Now chaps into the fray!Tally-ho!
I always think who that thing in the head of the British commandos was a sleeve from a wool sweater, I not wrong after all. Sir, you make a great bloody job!!!!!
General my hats off to you !! That was Epic !! Reminded me of the old British war movies from the 50s and 60s . Just amazed with the arsenal of gear you have , keep them coming 👍👍🇳🇿
Classic figures by Airfix and a much needed set by Mars. I think the bright blue helmets on the Kriegsmarine soldiers are a bit exaggerated though, they wore grey helmets. Keep it up 👍
Awesome episode. That Italeri Vosper looks great as does the St. Naz port mockup you created. Very nice touches! My favorite WWII British commandos set was by Matchbox. There poses were just a little more cooler than the Airfix set. However, creating new poses using the Airfix MP British with the commando head swaps is genius. I give this episode two thumbs up for all the cool stuff presented in it and the historical aspect. 😁
Thanks Rick. I remember that being a difficult episode to shoot with lots to technical obstacles. As far as the Matchbox Commandos go, yes they were more exciting, but lacked good firing poses and that's why having both sets is a must.
There's a great movie about this raid made in 1952 called "The Gift Horse" but also known as "Glory At Sea". Unfortunately it's rarely seen down here in the States---I don't know about Canada. Incidentally that Brit sailor carrying a "flashlight" is actually carrying what they called a " battery-operated Aldis lamp". It was used to flash light signals to another boat or shore party.
After watching your videos , I'm a little concerned about the amount of genuine world war two weapons you own. In particular the sten and mg42. Do you have the legal documentation to prove lawful ownership and training required to keep these deadly weapons of war? Other than that I look forward to all your highly accurate reenactments of ww2 battles.
Do you have a German Schnellboot or E Boat? There's a site called vintage model plans and if you haven't seen that site they have the plans for building one in 1/32 scale.
@The Plastic General Oh I'm just an observer now. I still have a few 1/32 Civil War figures and some Afrika Korps and Eighth Army but I'm downsizing. I just enjoy your enthusiasm and the amazing soldiers and models that are available now. There are several reviewers of toy soldiers online but yours is the most enjoyable and the most creative.@@ThePlasticGeneral
