The politically incorrect truth about the Empire of Japan, the Republic of Korea and the Comfort Women issue. Is this a genuine injustice or just a republican government trying to smear the last monarchy in northeast Asia? The facts speak for themselves...

There was no forcible recruitment of comfort woman by Japanese Military. Evidence of the Korean side is only about so-called comfort women's talk. I really appreciate for your detached views with evidence of truth.

Detached Views sums up everything about this mans views! Japan absolutely did have Comfort Women and it was absolutely systematic among the barbaric Japanese that loved seeking quote on quote Virgins! The Japanese Raped and Massacred everywhere they went, which I don't understand what's so hard to believe this, every undisciplined barbaric army has done this since the beginning of time, when invading other nations! Just the Japanese wanted to become the biggest Gengis Khan of the 20th Century or maybe the Russians in all fairness of what they did to German Women, but the Japanese were Brutal and deserved every bit of ass kicking the Americans unleashed upon them in WW2 and then some!

No he lies in this video and or just want to be the antagonist or the guy that has to disagree with every little thing that's written in our history books! I agree with him on his conclusions with the French Revolution and the Murder of Nicholas II the Last Emperor of Russia along with his Wife! But he is totally wrong about this, unbiased historians all agree what Japanese Soldiers did in WW2, they were just as if not more Fanatical than the Nazis!

Seulgi I'm not good at English, so I can't show evidence well. sorry. You can understand it by reading the best-selling "Anti-Japan Tribalism" in Korea. Since it has high credibility as evidence, it sold well in Korea. When verifying history, it is a rule of thumb to use Primary material. Japan scrutinizes history based on newspapers and records at the time, and "Anti-Japan Tribalism" also scrutinizes history based on Primary material. However, South Korea's claims are based only on witnesses. Since it is anti-Japan business, there is no attitude to verify the correct history. Yoon Mi-hyang is now being accused in Korea of that evidence. The name of the person she used as a former comfort woman is Lee Yong Soo. Lee Yong Soo confessed that he was used to the activity of comfort women and did not get enough reward. In contrast, Yoon Mi-hyang confessed that Lee Yong Soo was not a comfort woman. www.asahi.com/sp/articles/photo/AS20171107005428.html Lee Yong Soo is the woman who hugged Trump at a dinner when Trump visited Korea two years ago. He was a former comfort woman and claimed to have been forced into sexual slavery by the Japanese military. It was recently revealed that it was all a lie. Meanwhile, this woman was also an anti-American activist. Gunkanjima also claims that South Korea believes in the testimony. The name of the witness is Yeo Yeon Chang. He is a communist, and the organization he belonged to was identified by the Korean Grand Court in 1997 as an enemy group. Primary material. For example, Japan and South Korea are competing for sovereignty over one island. Japan claims sovereignty based on the primary material, but Korea does not have the primary material. www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2019/09/10/national/u-s-recognized-takeshima-part-japans-territory-1950-japanese-government-report/ So anti-Japan is a business and part of the activities of Communist and pro-North Korean forces. It is an activity to separate Korea and Japan and Korea and the United States. Even with ww2, was there a work by Comintern that separates Japan from the United States? It's the same.

Obviously they are more knowlegebale than him, because they actually got the story straight! Japanese Soldiers were a bunch of Fanatics prombally even more so then the Nazi's and just like them they also believed being Japanese made them somehow superior than their surrounding neighbors! And its this very mindset that led to the Killings and Reprisals of civilian Populations, The Mass Rapes & Orgies every time they encountered women especially quote on quote Virgins! And also let's not forget the Human Experiments! The Japanese were just a bunch of Fanatics, that should have been dealt with just as severely as the Germans did in WW2 but unfortunately the Allies let them of easy. And even to this day the Japanese Government and its people still downplay the atrocities they committed during the War Say what you want about the Germans but they are actually fully repentant of what their grandfathers done, the Japanese not so, but oh well now that China is the next Superpower to replace the United-States, maybe China can invade Japan and repay the Japanese for everything they did in WW2, it would serve them right!

I blame my Government for this, if we would have dealt the same punishment to your country like the Germans in WW2, maybe your country wouldn't still be having such a hard time coming to grips with the atrocities, your soldiers committed on foreign lands! The problem with Japan is that you guys just got off way to easily, you see that the German Government including its citizens, knows what they did, the world made sure of it! But i guess we applied to much of a light handed approach when dealing with Japan!

しつこくてごめんね。これで終わるから勘弁してね。 アメリカの人がこの問題を扱ってくれたのが嬉しくて、ついコメ残さずにいられませんでした。 ■ Book title: Freedom Betrayed "Betrayed Freedom" ■ Author: Herbert Clark Hoover, 31st President of the United States (1929-33) Hoover visited South Korea in 1909 and 1946 and wrote the following in his memoirs: Koreans at the time were the most disappointing I had witnessed somewhere in Asia. There was little law and order. The masses were undernourished, under-clothed, under-contained, and under-equipped. There was no sanitation and filth and hustle and bustle engulfed the entire countryside. The roads were almost impassable, and there were few communication and educational facilities. Trees rarely destroyed the miserable landscape. The thieves and bandits did not seem to be detained. During the 35 years of Japanese rule, Korean life revolutionized. Starting with this least promising human resource, the Japanese established order and built ports, railroads, roads and communications, good public buildings, and significantly improved housing. JP has established sanitary facilities and taught better farming methods. JP has built a huge fertilizer facility in North Korea to raise people's food supply to a reasonable level. JP has replanted the desolate hills. They have established a general system of education and the development of skills. Even dusty, dull, and dirty clothes have been replaced with clean bright colors. ● (This book has many descriptions of the domestic situation in the United States at that time. It is a thick book, and you need to read it patiently. If you read it carefully, it says that the US-Japan war was the responsibility of the United States, and that Franklin Delano Roosevelt used a plot to put Japan into war. In May 1946, Hoover came to Tokyo for food aid. I'm talking here with GHQ's Douglas MacArthur. "The Pacific War is not a war initiated by Japan," the two agreed. It is written like this. ) This book is a memoir of the 31st President of the United States, Herbert Clark Hoover (term 1929-33), who examined the process of World War II in detail. Why did the second World War happen when everyone wanted to avoid it? And what is the truth that has not yet been told about that war? This book, which directly denies the traditional view of "allied justice" vs. "evil totalitarian", has not been made public for a long time, but was published in the United States in 2011 and is controversial. It is a first-class historical material completed over 20 years by the highest authority in the United States who has access to various information. ]

By the way, Japan did NOT colonize Korea. Japan and Korea merged per mutual agreement. Japan built in Korea many schools, (Seoul) university, roads, rail systems, dams and other infrastructures, etc. Japan helped Koreans greatly. Japan did NOT exploit Korea, but helped. In WW2, Koreans fought along with Japanese against the West. After 'we' lost the war, Koreans double-crossed Japan. The Korean betrayal continues to this day.

We had a settlement. The Korea nonstop to bring back this issue again again again and yet that is not true.

I am Korean. All the truths are known in Korea. Don't believe this is true with just one RU-vid video. Japan took over Korea freely, forced Koreans to work and tortured independence activists. And he took innocent young Korean girls, locked them up, assaulted them, and forced them to conceive. Please don't believe the truth distorted by this video and look at the testimony of the survivors and the scars on their bodies. You'd understand if you'd watch the video. Korea is a clear victim. Japan ignored this truth and never did it, but we still have proof. Please don't fall for this lie. All 3 trips were made before Soul Olympic. I think Korean people were ill-educated and all of the faults were on the Government. Asahi newspaper made series of mistakes but they have already taken down all the report as to comfort women who were forced to go the front line of the Pacific War, probably Korean people have left behind all the truth about comfort women and blindly believing what you have been taught by the Government based on false reports which have already been taken down by the newspaper company first published such wrong report.

Reason why Japan annexed Korea. - Russian socialism and check against the Communist Party of China. Reason why Kojeong appealed to consolidation to Japan. With the expenditure of state assets by Hin Yin, repayment of external debt became impossible. - Every year, the king did not want to return to a Chinese slave country who must provide a sex slave. (1910 years. According to Article 1 of the Shimonoseki treaty between Japan and China, Korea became independent from the slave country of China. However, Korea continued to submit to China) - For the Koreans, the Japanese government was more gentle than China and Russia. The consolidation of Korea by Japan was a peaceful consolidation through the procedures of international law, not accompanied by force. It is the United States and European countries that certified it. In the WW 2 from the 17th century, Japan and Thailand were the only independent Asian countries.

Is there any country you have occupied that has given them the nationality of your own country under the war? Did Britain give British citizenship to the Indian people? The Japan dealed with Koreans as Japanese people. Japan let married an imperial Japanese woman to the younger brother of the Korean emperor. This has long been a way of connecting countries that has been passed down to Japan. There were no things that Japan exploited from them. Japan made a railway, through the water supply, launched electricity, making a family register, teaching a method of politics, and made a school. The literacy rate of Koreans was less than 10%. 10% were emperors and aristocrats , and 50% peaple were slaves. People live in their twenties, and most children died when they were young. Japan learned that there are Hangul books and taught them. Of course, they also taught Japanese, but Hirobumi Ito instructed Japanese teachers to learn Hangul as well to communicate with them and to value their culture and customs. During the annexation of Japan and Korea, people's lives doubled, and the money invested by Japan was 1.4 billion yen at that time. At that time, the people of the Korean Peninsula were too poor. However, fearing the invasion of China and the Soviet Union, Japan needed to protect the Korean Peninsula. So they accepted the suggestion of the Korean emperor, annexed Korea from its former protectorate, and treated them as Japanese. The difference between civilization and rich and poor with Japan was huge. Even if Koreans did business in China, they were ridiculed when they found out that they were not Japanese. Therefore, they wanted a Japanese name. Even when they went to court and paid for it, they wanted a Japanese name. The emperor warned people three times not to change their name on their own.But 20% of people did not change their name. This means they have a choice. This history is a shame for Koreans, and now korea teach in historical revision textbooks. Even if you don't intend to bully, if someone feel that has been bullied, it will be bullied. But Japan had no intention of doing so. At that time,The burden was heavy to Japan. So they were against the annexation. However, because Hirobumi Ito was assassinated by Koreans, the annexation proceeded. He was an influential person who opposed the annexation. Ironically, for that reason, the annexation proceeded at once. Japan wants korea to recognize the reality and move forward. It's not embarrassing.

Honestly the Japanese should have been punished more for their crimes, they got off way easier then the Germans did, and even till did day, they are un-repentant of the Mass Rapes & Orgies and Human Experiments they did! Now they want to rebuild their military and the World Community says nothing to them, but if the Germans talk about it, the World starts Hyper Ventilating and losing their minds. In my eyes its time for the World to stop blaming Modern Germans for what their ancestors did, especially they heavy price the German People had to pay for their crimes, the same can't be said for the Japanese!

Michael Yon December 13, 2014 Japan: Power of Facebook -- Comfort Women Narrative Crumbling bit by bit The Wall Street Journal and others now are picking up reality about the Comfort Women issue, straight from my interviews and from this Facebook page. Until just weeks ago, there was never mention of the 2007 IWG report. Team members I was working with independently found the buried IWG report in the US National Archives, and they provided it to me. We studied it in detail, and weeks ago released its existence: Now it is breaking open: "Primary source information was also missing from the article regarding the facts behind the issue. Instead, the article simply regurgitated what others have claimed about the comfort women. "The only evidence that the article provided to back up the narrative of forced prostitution was the words of the alleged, former comfort women. The author failed to submit any additional primary source materials. Earlier this year, the Asahi Shimbun apologized for reporting as fact without performing any background checks Seiji Yoshida’s discredited claims that he “forced comfort women into enslavement”. Perhaps the New York Times hasn’t yet learned the folly of reporting without due diligence. "What the New York Times article failed to mention was primary source information, such as the Interagency Working Group’s (IWG) report on Nazi and Japanese war crimes, which it submitted to Congress in 2007. After spending 30 million dollars to go through over 8.5 million newly declassified documents, opened to the public under the Nazi War Crimes Disclosure Act and the Japanese Imperial Government Disclosure Act, the IWG was unable to find any evidence that gave credence to the claims of forced prostitution by the Japanese government or military. In fact, the report goes on to give an apology to the special interest groups who were eagerly looking forward to such evidence. "Furthermore, “Report 49″ provided by the United States Office of War Information (OWI) in 1944 described the interview of 20 captured Korean comfort women. The report clearly identified them as paid prostitutes instead of sex slaves, and went onto describe how they participated “in sports events with both officers and men, and attended picnics, entertainments, and social dinners”. The primary source documents clearly noted that the comfort women were highly paid prostitutes. "Interestingly, a group of South Korean women recently sued their government saying that U.S. forces in South Korea treated them as comfort women. While the U.S. media immediately responded by saying that they were prostitutes, those same media outlets have continued to refer to those comfort women, who had served the Japanese military, as sex slaves. "Both Japanese and U.S. military bases, during their respective times, had “comfort stations” where men paid for sex with prostitutes. But curiously enough, those same prostitutes became “sex slaves” in name when served the Japanese military. "Perhaps it’s time for both the Japanese and Western media to return to primary source research and to deliver the real story." eng.the-liberty.com/2014/5612/

Just to make sure, Mr. Mad Monarchist is talking about Japan compensated women, but he means that they weren't compensated for being sex slaves. Japan had simply added extra funds to the Japan-South Korea agreement as compensations for any personal damage claimed after the treaty was formed. The money went to social causes like rebuilding roads and bridges destroyed during the Korean war. It's obvious that, at the time in 1965, the South Korean leaders knew these comfort women were nothing different from prostitutes serving to the US/UN soldiers during the Korean war, and didn't consider a bit about these women being forcefully taken to brothels... If South Korean government or people today consider these women were actually sex slaves, they should pay compensations out of their own pockets and move on.
@ashwoshtoshposh8925
@ashwoshtoshposh8925 5 лет назад
Japanese government was never involved in recruiting Korean prostitutes and managing brothels in Japanese territory, and Korean women were never taken to brothels forcefully by Japanese army. There were brothels by Japanese army garrisons or military bases which Japanese army official encouraged contractors to set up and certified to run in order to prevent war crimes. Total number of prostitutes working there were about ten to twenty thousands during WWII. Majority of them were Japanese women and about 20 % were Koreans. They were well paid and some made about ten times more than college graduates at the time. Back then, Japan was so poor. Many Japanese prostitutes were from poor area of Japan. They worked as prostitute for money and they chose it voluntarily. In Korea, it was same thing, many women worked as prostitutes. Some were voluntarily, some were deceived by Korean broker (which many of them were gang) and they were sold to brothels. (Today, a large proportion of Korean women still work as prostitutes and it is large portion of Korean economy.) Japanese army controlled brothels in order to maintain security and prevent sexual disease. (Those women were provided with a lot of welfare benefits like medical check and medical therapies.) So, those women were never slaves. They were prostitutes who were well paid and provided with a lot of welfare privileges. So they were never forcefully taken to brothels and there was no Japanese government involvement in recruiting women or managing brothels during WWII. Japanese government has no responsibility to compensate those women who are claiming for money over and over again. Why they are called sex slaves? It was miss translation by some leftist in Japan who were influenced by anti-Japan education.

The English on the other hand treated the indigenous people with utter brutality. The French were somewhat in between as far as native Americans were concerned. Of course accepting Jesus Christ was a prerequisite.

@@TheYah00netstar In the 1860s, Japan was trying to convince Chinese and Koreans to rebel against the West. Both Korea and China viewed the Westerners are irrelevant barbarians. The Koreans even won a victory against the a French boat commander who decided to attack Korea on its own.... it was a Pyrrhic victory since it deluded the Koreans even further into looking down at the West. The sad result of all of this was that it convinced the Nationalists in Japan to say "f..k China and Korea", we will invade them just as the West does. Japan has nothing to learn from these two countries. As they say, the rest is history.....

The Comfort Women: Sexual Violence and Postcolonial Memory in Korea and Japan was written by Professor _Chunghee Sarah Soh_ (소정희 蘇貞姫) of San Francisco State University (From wikipedia article) In this book Soh criticizes the Korean Council for the Women Drafted for Military Sexual Slavery, also known as Chong Dae Hyup, a left-wing activist group, arguing that it has exaggerated the comfort women story, creating a false narrative of victimization. She asserts that Chong Dae Hyup's narrative of the Japanese military coercively taking young Korean women away from "loving parents" is baseless, and she accuses the activist group of strategic misrepresentations that have prevented deeper understanding of the comfort women issue. She insists that it is incorrect to portray the comfort women as sex slaves and the system as a war crime. In her view, the burden is on Korean society to repudiate victimization, admit its complicity and accept that the comfort women system was not criminal. However, she concedes that current Korean nationalism is so strong that it is highly unlikely Korean society will come to that realization anytime soon.[5][6] In wars soldiers sometimes commit rapes. To prevent this from occurring, the Japanese military asked businessmen to recruit prostitutes and operate brothels. The Japanese military sent notices to brothel operators ordering them to only recruit willing prostitutes and not to recruit women against their will. The Japanese operators followed the order and only recruited willing women. But the Korean operators recruited both willing and unwilling women. If Korean brothel operators had followed the Japanese military's order, there would not have been any comfort women issue. When Japan offered compensation through Asian Women's Fund in 1995, Soh asserts that Chong Dae Hyup threatened Korean women not to accept Japan's apology and compensation so that it could continue its anti-Japanese propaganda campaign. Soh describes how 61 former Korean comfort women defied this threat and accepted compensation. Those 61 women were vilified as traitors. Chong Dae Hyup published their names and addresses in newspapers as dirty prostitutes, so they had to live the rest of their lives in disgrace. Professor Soh also argues that the Korean narrative is misleading as it deliberately mixes the comfort women with the volunteer corps (Chong Sin Dae 정신대), a separate system of mobilizing women's labor during World War II. Furthermore, the Koreans turn their eyes away from their own collaboration. She asserts that the Korean comfort station operators recruited Korean comfort women, some of whom were sold to the operators by indebted parents. But after the war Korean society stigmatized these women, exacerbating their tragedy.

Read Comfort Women: Sexual Slavery in the Japanese Military During World War II by Yoshaki Yoshimi, in which he discovered plenty of documentation and testimony to prove the existence of approximately 2,000 comfort women centers where as many as 200,000 Korean, Filipina, Taiwanese, Indonesian, Burmese, Dutch, Australian, and Japanese women, many of whom were teenagers and some as young as fourteen, were detained and forced to perform sexual activities with Japanese troops

Political troll, Even mild conservatism and patriotism are often targeted viciously in Japan. They smear those people as revisionists. Evidence shows that those confront women are just poor prostitutes (by the way, prostitution was not illegal that time) - not sex slaves nor rape victims.
