Every so often there come a message , that makes you feel like you have never heard the message of salvation before. Alistair this is so powerful and moving , I am reminded how inadequate I am and how much every day how I need our Lord. When you spoke about the thieves on their crosses , very powerful.
Yes I have to preach the gospel to myself every day many times. God’s power is in the gospel. Not by our works. But by Christs completed work on the cross praise Him AMEN!
2nd time watching this, it's so powerful & simple. Sometimes, sermons pile on too many side dishes when we're waiting for & needing the steak. Leave it to Alistair to cut to the chase!
Best sermon on the purity of the Gospel. You can listen over and over and continue to be conformed to the Jesus. Romans 8:29. I love it when Pastor Begg" people who love the gospel love book of Romans. Passed from death to life reading Romans 8:32. No Christian friends or witnessing just the Bible
I love this sermon, among many others of his, and it tells me that he is about to take the Gospel to a whole group of people to save whomsoever may…..❤️🙌🏼
how wonderful to hear this man preach the whole consel of God. I thought they had all died out! Where have I been for the last 20 or so years that I had never heard of him until recently!! Thankyou Lord for this man. I listen to him again and again.
Thank you allistair and proof for life. I am handicapped and home bound. Your presentations and preach of gospel lights my days, lifts my heart's and fills me with purpose to carry the love of God provided as you speak truth from the word of God, gracious God. P
Alastair has enlightened and given me a deeper understanding of the teachings and teachers in the word of God and his son Jesus Christ. Thank you wholeheartedly.
firstinlastout, He is amazing but it is all about the fact that he has let God work in his life and he’s doing what he was called to do. Thank God for all who follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. We are all cool to be ministers of the gospel’s, if only in the way we live our lives and the way we do our jobs
My son introduced me to Allister Begg by sending me rather freq a sermom he thought I'd like. I didn't appreciate it initially. Now I send sermons on. Thank you Father for pastors who preach Your Word in such a clearly understand way.
1John 5:11-12 And this is that TESTIMONY (that evidence); God gave us ETERNAL LIFE, and this LIFE IS IN HIS SON. He who possesses the SON has THAT LIFE; he who does not possess the SON of God does NOT have THAT LIFE. Praise the Lord for His LOVE and MERCY! Hallelujah!
It is a truthful perspective. There is nothing that I, we, have done, but truly all of salvation rests upon the great love of God for this sad, rebellious world.
Tell you I really enjoy listen to you speak I walk with the Lord and days I have trouble but right now I'm so blessed if I would remember that every day thank you again thank you and God
Stefan Lorde The first time I heard that illustration I just cried my eyes out---when it comes right down to it, that's the testimony of all of us who have been saved by God's sovereign grace. When I was newly saved (28 years ago), my testimony took about three hours to tell (LOL), but I've boiled it down to just six words, and the conversation goes like this: What happened to you? "God saved me." And how did that happen? "I don't know." And then I just start to weep again. God is so gracious...
Reading those few lines you wrote, I can't help but feel that invisible line that binds all those who are in Christ Jesus. I love you already, and look forward to seeing you at the marriage banquet!
@@speterlewis God bless you Peter. See you soon. I woke up today at exactly 4:44 with my Bible in my hand. I have sleep apnea, that's why I woke up. But I was watching a video about 4:44 just last night, but I don't know why...I wasn't really paying attention. I will research it today
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ : for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Yeah. This was a deep understanding of the meaning of life in Jesus. And every word in the bible is important to learn, for ourselves and for us to be armed with The Word, as we reach out to others under the authority of Father, through His Son, Lord Jesus Christ, and The Holy Spirit of God! Great lesson! Alistair, you must have been ready for a quiet moment to refresh yourself. When I taught Medical Legal Laws in California, I was exhausted, horse, but happy when I saw the eyes of my students understanding. I never stopped teaching, until every face showed a total understanding, and I may have to explain a matter in three different ways in order that all my students, Understood. Very well. Sharing personal achievements, errors, and making sense with these. Every class was winged, because I did not know how class that day may go. The long, hard days were good, because I gave all of me, to understand this complicated system; laws, rules and regulations. And I entertained them to keep them with me, no one fell asleep, or walked out of class. No dopey eyed students. That was my job to make sure everyone got it..
It has not been seen by the lost, to wrap their head around the gospel, the mystery of Christ. It is not a to do list to get his approval. It is a gift from God lest any man should boast. Alistair does his best to make the Gospel come to clarity in this sermon.
I have listened to him and never immagined he was a calvinist. The Lord came to save if you desire him Jesus,u will reach out. God did not create some for hell some for life eternal with God. We have choice why make it all so complicated?
a bit of prophecy, Ravi Zacharias may have been filled with pride on his argumentation, "apologetic" and lose sight of the center mater, the gospel, not intelligence and a good argument, as it appears he justified sin. "I need a release because of the pressures of the ministry." The Christian message has nothing to do with our argument but God's love and grace. Thank you Lord for your message and faithful pointing to you by one who fears you, A. Begg (Ps 61:5)
Love your preaching. However, not use to seeing you without coat & tie; makes me think of bible verse - ““But when the king came in to meet the guests, he noticed a man who wasn’t wearing the proper clothes for a wedding.” Matthew 22:11 NLT
He's not preaching in church he's teaching at a Pastor seminar. Your response made me think of a verse. Remove the plank from your eye so you can see to remove the speck from your neighbor's. 🙏♥️🙏
I didn't like the comments on Ravi Zacharias , on Calvin's book, on "the big boy" who we all know your talking about. I see now who Ravi spoke about in regards from attacks of the brotherhood and how these things should never be. Of how his daughter was so upset at the back staving. At least Ravi is always gracious and seems to be to have a good grasp of the different parts of the body functioning for one purpose. Similar to the Church. We should never lift ourselves up by pulling down others boot straps. Yes I am aware that Alistair recognizes from the golf course joke that all we need is a mirror to see a sinner, but please don't criticize your brothers, my brothers. Be your part of the body and focus on that focus on Christ. NOT on others who may have a different ministry. BTW RC Sproul has concinced me that his position on the elevt is correct. I believe that it is onl;y a matter of time before your light turns on too as others have testified to.
Luther sadly fell away and was responsible for much of the initial WW2 Fascist anti semitism that harmed millions and led to the Holocaust. I can't listen any further to Alistair's Luther infatuation.
Nope. Again, God will hold us individually responsible for every idle word and deed but NEVER the sins of others. And you not listening to the very sound teaching of Brother Begg will be your loss, not his. And you might want to go get that log out of your eye or at least get a heart check!
Luther will not pay for the sins of others, but that is a different issue from whether or not he bears some responsibility for influencing people. We should always be willing to look honestly at the faults of those who are so frequently quoted from the pulpit.
We don’t overlook the bad things but can still be grateful for the good that was done in getting back to our doctrinal roots. Only Jesus was perfect. No man is , was or ever will be, so we’d have no teachers if that were the criteria.
JMoore - You make the fundamental error that post-modern liberals make - your comments presuppose that others lead us to sin, and not our own hearts. The WW2 Holocaust would have happened regardless of Luther's view on Jews. There was cultural and historical reasons that had nothing to do with Luther that shaped the minds of depraved, unregenerate men that led to the Holocaust. Men who are led to sin by others go willingly into the darkness. They go because they love sin more than they love God or because they outright hate God. You cannot hold Luther responsible for the sins of men who lived four centuries after him, anymore than I could blame my own sin of envy on reading about envy in the bible. It's rather unreasonable to suggest Luther is responsible. And makes a mockery out of Christ's atoning work for all of us.
How does Alistair's infatuation with Luther overlook the fact that Luther in his later years was a rabid anti semite and his vitriol fueled Natzi WW2 atrocities and the Holocaust?
J Moore - Yes, Luther had it wrong on the Jews and their place in history and God's heart as do MANY "believers" today starting with replacement theology. But he can hardly be blamed for the acts of the Nazi's anymore than you can - God will hold Luther responsible for his ignorance and the Nazi's for their actions. Like it or not, assuming you make it to heaven, Luther will be there!
