The great Power Station Andy Taylor, Robert Palmer, Tony Thompson and Luke Morley, performing She Can Rock It live at TOTP in 1996. All rights are reserved to the legitimate owners.
This live version was so much better then the very anemic, flat & VERY DRY sounding studio version. Seeing Palmer in his BIG CLASSIC business suit apparel that he made famous on his "Riptide" album years before, Taylor still carrying over his "BIG HAIR" from the 80's and Thompson on those "BIG POWER" drums, made this German produced "Tops Of The Pops" TV episode put out well. But death knows no boundaries, soon after the studio recording convened of "She Can Rock It", producer & bass player Bernard Edwards succumbed to an early passing, as did Palmer & Thompson, a short 7 years later. - BCRadio.
I like the studio version of She Can Rock It! Sure the live one kicks it up a notch. But to call the studio version "anemic" is typical of a critic which is someone who couldnt write a song or play an instrument if there life depended on it! Music critics are but fucking useless!
@@69kevroletfastback33 Well, I gave my "comment" my best shot. I highly paid, glamorous & smug "Rock Critic" for the L.A. or N.Y. Times, I am surely not...but just a fellow You Tuber like you good brother...I am. Much thanks, BCRadio
A man singing rock in a suit is just so cool. Robert was the epitome of class and style. This was 11 years after their first album and Bernard Edwards had died before this. Robert and Tony would eventually follow him. RIP Bernard, Tony and Robert.
Never seen/heard this one before...Great!! makes you wonder what kind of music Robert and Tony would be doing now... Loves Robert's voice on this. And Tony playing DRUMS (no machine) Andy has always rocked!!
Is this a public school thing? Bass fucking guitar on this little throw away number. It's good, that's why I'm here. But not very good, and that's why I'm here.
Remember this live it was so exciting; a real live experienced band pumping it out hard and loud on prime time BBC! Brilliant musicians. R I P Robert and Tony so proud of you. Why they axed Top of the Pops for the dull, elitist, crony filled ‘Later...’, I’ll never know. Bring back Totp!
Kudos to you Maddy for this Gem. You've just earnt yourself the right to go an play Wingers first Album, and receive some well deserved praise!👍-Cheers!🤗
Tony Thompson is a beast!! Must have been Phil Collins who couldn't get the drum intro at the beginning of Rock n Roll when the Zep guys did Live Aid. Jimmy complained about that!!
