Some people are fussy,I have just purchased a 1.7 dci awd x trail to tow a Bailey phoenix 640 plus, 1257 miro and ours is around 1350 on the road. I was towing this caravan with a renault kadjar 1.3 tce fwd and it was coping fine with only 138hp and 177 lbs ft.

Hi did you eventually buy one? My heads spinning,too much is made of the so so 4x4 and it's not great off road ability.I had hoped to buy a diesel 2.0 litre but worried by what I am told. For 2018 Nissan have only upgraded minor parts all cosmetic. Nothing to chassis for 2018.Complaints are subjective so take this with a pinch of salt but suspension isn't outstanding and my greatest concern is chassis rot as all these bits made in Spain. For whatever reason this is a weak point APPARENTLY rust etc .I will not need it for caravaning but I don't see much enthusiasm on any ones faces after testing.Sorry for being negative I have owned a slow Juke and Quashqai both long term and they don't rock my boat much the Juke handled the best, I like them,not sure why. Their reliability is all I am praising them for,zero faults.

Richard Allan no I didn't. Also looked further into them and decided against. Still not sure what to buy.

He tested a lot hevier caravan with the 1.6dci xtrail.. think 1440kg and it has 130 bhp and yet on a 2.0 dci with 177bhp he does a tow test with 1200kg caravan?? how is that a like for like test.. keep it consistant guys.

I have an X-Trail 2020 and very Happy with it, i did fit a queen size bed unassembled of course inside of it and it did close the lid, i dare you to do that in a sorento
